Courage: the ability to do something that frightens one. Grow: progress to maturity; become larger or greater over some time. To put it together, this can be someone who is aware of the risks of something they desire but chooses to plunge forward regardless, in pursuit of maturation and change. In life, I strive to be driven and ambitious regardless of the risks. I am determined to do whatever is necessary to constantly evolve and exemplify what it means to be someone who is "courageous". As a single father, I aim to demonstrate to my son what it means to be driven and dedicated to improving on areas that you wish to change. This has led me to pursue a career where I can encourage and motivate the next generation as a Pediatric Psychiatrist. This next chapter in my life is indicative of the desire to courageously grow. As I look to the future, I have doubts. I have fears. I have anxiety. I recognize the risks and sacrifices that will be necessary to achieve the prestigious letter, MD, next to my name. However, as a 27-year-old man without a degree, I believe I am destined for far greater things in life. I am meant to serve. I am meant to lead. I am meant to influence. I am meant to encourage the youth of the next generation to courageously grow themselves and others. There is no better career I can imagine than one where I encounter people daily riddled with doubt and brought to their knees by fear of whatever ailment engulfs them. To help those who cannot do it alone is a lifelong dream of mine
