As I enter my senior year at The North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, I remain focused on graduating Magna Cum Laude, with the goal of earning Summa Cum Laude if possible. I am pursuing a degree in Marketing and Supply Chain Management, and my experiences both inside and outside the classroom have helped shape a clear vision for my future. Over the past two years, I have been fortunate to complete two internships that have given me valuable insight into the many career paths within supply chain management. Through these experiences, I have developed a strong appreciation for supply chain as the driving force behind a company's operations, growth, and long-term success. I am currently interning with The Campbell's Company in the Supply Chain Operational Excellence Department, where I have discovered a genuine passion for improving processes and solving operational challenges. While I have greatly enjoyed this role, I also look forward to exploring other areas within supply chain management as I begin my professional career. In the future, I also plan to pursue an MBA to continue developing my leadership skills and expand my opportunities within the industry.
While my career aspirations motivate me every day, my greatest source of inspiration has always been my family. Their support and countless sacrifices have allowed me to pursue opportunities that might not have otherwise been possible. Throughout my educational journey, my parents have consistently encouraged me to strive for excellence. I vividly remember struggling with math concepts in middle school, and rather than allowing me to fall behind, my parents invested their time and energy into helping me succeed. Whenever they encountered material they could not explain, my father used the relationships he built while working as a high school custodian to connect me with outstanding math teachers who volunteered to help me understand the lessons. Their commitment to my education taught me that success is built not only through hard work, but also through the support of a community that believes in you. Every achievement I earn is a reflection of the sacrifices they made, and I hope to honor them by graduating with distinction. Beyond my own accomplishments, I aspire to inspire black students and other students of color to pursue higher education with confidence, just as my family and community inspired me.
Receiving this scholarship would significantly ease the financial burden of completing the final year of my undergraduate education. Unfortunately, I was not awarded campus housing this year, which has substantially increased my educational expenses. Although I have been fortunate to receive a merit scholarship from North Carolina A&T in previous years, my mother has continued to shoulder much of the remaining cost through payment plans and personal sacrifice. Witnessing her commitment to investing in my future has motivated me to seek additional scholarship opportunities so I can lessen that burden. This scholarship would not only provide meaningful financial assistance, but it would also allow me to remain focused on achieving my academic and professional goals during this important final year. I would be deeply honored to receive this award, and I sincerely appreciate your investment in students pursuing higher education. Thank you for providing opportunities that empower students like me to continue working toward our dreams.
