In my household, we have been through constant adversity. My parents grew up in Haiti before it became corrupt. I can never repay them for all the sacrifices they made for me. My parents used to tell me how beautiful and friendly Haiti used to be—the warm people, the gorgeous landscape, the mouthwatering food, and the different kinds of life. It was like living in a fantasy world where everyone knew each other, like one big happy family. But slowly, things started to change. Murder rates began to rise rapidly, and the trust everyone had in each other began to cease. The landscape soon became destroyed and ruined, no longer retaining the beautiful look it once had. It has become so corrupt that they have to flee to America.   My parents were able to get jobs and pay the bills, but the economy would slowly get worse, making it difficult for us financially. We were a seven-person household, but soon my oldest brother left, and now we are hardly six. As you can tell, taking care of four kids wasn't easy, but later it got worse. My dad's company moved, and he lost his job, and my mother wasn't able to pursue a career; she wasn't a nurse. All these misfortunes put our family under stress. My mom was working long shifts every day, and my dad would help around the house since he couldn't find a fitting job that would greatly help us as a family. He tried applying to many jobs but would soon get fired because of all the family problems we had in the house and out of state.   Because of this money, debt started rising. I would see my poor parents come home tired and stressed. I would do anything I could to make them feel better and tell them how grateful I am. Raising a child is not easy, especially with all the money that needs to be paid, like their health and food. My parents want us to live our best lives, so they would take on way more challenges than they could handle. They wanted to pay for my college fees when I hit college, but I didn't want them to do that. Our financial problems already had us reconsidering doing college in the first place. I wanted to be a veterinarian growing up because I love animals with a passion, and overall animal health intrigues me. But also because the pay seemed good if I could put my mind to it. I heard that veterinary school has students going into tons of debt when they finish, so making my parents, who would do anything for me, pay for all this was just never an option for me. I sit down for at least 1 hour a day working on scholars, just finding a way to rack up as much money as I can for my college. Although I haven't won a scholarship yet, I'm still trying my best for my parent's sake. This is how I decided to leap over this massive obstacle. I would also try to get a high score on my SAT. All in all, my determination will keep rising, and one day I want to pay back my parents for everything they have done for me.
      1989 (Taylor's Version) Fan Scholarship
Growing up, I would constantly listen to Taylor Swift's newest songs. One day, I would love to attend one of her concerts. For me, her song "I Knew You Were Trouble" reminds me of my 2023 year. The amount of mistakes I made and learned from that entire year. Just in that year alone, I have been more open than I ever was, which unfortunately means that I was more prone to getting hurt. I meant lots of people, talked to more people. But my mind couldn't stop having this feeling that they might think differently of me than what I see. It was just something in me that got scared of what people truly see in me. Just like the line in her song "Now I'm lying on the cold, hard ground," I was lying on all the fear and mistakes that bobbled in that entire song, slowly breaking me down till I was lying on the ground. I have been hurt; people weren't as nice as they looked to be. And the stress was just slowly consuming me. But halfway through the year, I just shook it off, just like the second song I would add. Her song "Shake it Off" just reminded me to shake off all the sadness, fear, anxiety, and any other emotion I was feeling. All that emotion I had bobbled up, I just shook it off. I have gotten better, not letting those people get to me anymore. The stress would just leave my body, and I started living my best life. I would tell myself, I only got one life. It shouldn't be wasted on people like that. This moves slowly to the last song that I would add, "Blank Space." School, activities, extra classes, just life had been so much, but I had a blank space I wanted to fill. I wanted to meet people that wouldn't break me down. I wanted to think of that person in that one blank space in my head. I have two amazing best friends that I made. Although at times things can get rough, I'm always there for me. Yes, we do fight, but it would go away relatively quickly. I love Taylor Swift and the amazing relatable songs she makes. This is why she has lots of loyal fans who do anything to support her. Although she is so popular, she never puts herself on a higher pedestal than her loyal fans. She always has the right lyrics to brighten your day, just letting us know that we are not alone.

Growing up, my parents always tried their hardest to ensure I had the best life possible. At some point in my childhood, problems occurred, and we slowly struggled financially. I have four other siblings who lived with me at the time; three of them were older than me. Knowing this, there was quite a bit of passing down toys, clothes, and stuff in general. One passed-down item I remember receiving was a bike with training wheels on it. I would ride that bike all day outside in my backyard, all by myself. As a child outside by herself, with the air constantly changing, I started to notice my surroundings. Mainly, I would see the wildlife that lived in my backyard. The ant colonies are collecting the remains of a bug. The wasp nest that suddenly appeared on my roof. The frog that I made friends with would always eat the bugs on my window sill. Every day that passed by, my love for animals constantly grew. Throughout my childhood, we had a few pets: two fish, one turtle, one Guinea pig, and two chickens. I still remember how each and everyone died. I would try my hardest to endure their long life, but my efforts were in vain. However, looking back now, I realized that all their deaths were out of my reach. Some of them even lived a nice full life like my guinea pig, fluffers. But because of these experiences, my love for animals grew more, and I realized I wanted to help them. I despised seeing an animal die. Everywhere I go, I would certainly help wild animals in any way I possibly could. I learned more about each animal I helped, which piqued my interest in wildlife documentaries. Throughout my life so far, I have seen, heard, and helped countless different animals that most people today never knew existed. The event that set my goals for my future career was when my 7th-grade science teacher friend brought in different animals they owned for a lesson. After the class, they let me hold one of their pets, the bearded dragon. It was then that I realized I could have a career dealing with animals. It took some time to figure out what career I was interested in, but I soon figured it out. I wanted to be a veterinarian. My interests, strengths, favorite classes, and overall personality matched this career like a glove. I want to learn more about different kinds of animals and help them. My goal is to share with others the passion I have for animals. I am only a senior in high school; my life is just beginning. When I have my heart set on something, I will never give it up. I know I can show others just how wonderful the wildlife can be. I was to achieve happiness between humans and animals. Seeing a man's best friend with their little companion together is something I yearn to see.
      Anthony B. Davis Scholarship
I am an African American senior at a Christian high school. I've lived in the same house since I was born. As you might understand, our family has been through a lot, and we have a lot of regrets to face. We planned to sell the house twice in 2022 but were unable to do so due to current housing market prices. The economy has exploded, which means that house prices have climbed, making it tough for us to purchase a new home. In addition, my older sibling was unable to leave the house due to the state of the economy. As a result, my parents must continue to provide for all six of us in the household. Although my siblings continue to work and attend college, they use the money for their mounting education bills. I am most passionate about animals. I am a huge animal lover. I've been fascinated by animals since I was a child. When my professors would show animal films at school, I would become so engrossed in them that nothing else mattered. I've committed my life to knowing more about other living things besides humans. After learning, I want to help any animal, no matter how dangerous it is. For this reason, I decided to become a veterinarian. As I previously stated, the economy is improving, making life and careers even more difficult. I am a high school senior, meaning I will graduate this year. As much as I want to fulfill my dream of becoming a vet, our situation is not ideal. This scholarship will help me get closer to realizing my dream. With this scholarship, I can put money toward future books and even an essential test, such as the SAT, to help me get into a good institution. I adore the saying, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." I think of this remark because wealthy places are willing to provide scholarships like this to people who are less fortunate in life. I am an optimistic individual. I believe that this scholarship will greatly benefit my career. And I imagine that if I receive this scholarship, I will be able to aid others, particularly their loving best friends. Those pets who could one day become my patients. This scholarship will not only help me make a name in the animal department, but it will also get me one step closer to making a mark on the entire globe. One day, I hope to spread the message and become well-known worldwide. I can encourage other youngsters who are in a similar circumstance to me. Even in today's depressed economy, I feel I can reignite their hopes. My main goal in life is to leave a lasting impression on the globe. I want everyone to remember me as a respectable, entertaining, and inspiring lady who took the world by storm. One day, you will see my name all over the internet, altering people's lives not for the sake of views but out of the goodness of my heart. I love to assist others, and this scholarship will enable me to do so. I'm trying hard to make this goal a reality. This is why I feel that the smallest things can have the greatest influence. This scholarship can help make a long-held dream come true. I will make my dream a reality.
      Learner Math Lover Scholarship
Since I was young, math has been my favorite subject. I think the simplicity of math—just fitting numbers together to make things make sense—is why I love it. I find math to be quite simple. All you are doing is picking up the principle and applying it using other numbers. My mind simply has a tendency to figure out solutions. Any class I take, my math grades will always be the top. My SAT results also support this argument. I may not be the best in language or reading, but I did really well in math. If my own sibling or any of my classmates needed help, I would even tutor them. My tensions are also soothed by math. Solving puzzles on my own is soothing, especially when the numbers all add up. However, math is more than just numbers; I also adore math's use of letters. I had an intense affinity for algebra, but geometry was even better. My initial concern with college algebra was quickly dispelled after I enrolled in my first course. I received an A in the class that I aced. In addition to a 4-credit French course, I took this course throughout the summer. I recently graduated from high school as a senior and am enrolled in five classes concurrently. I'm studying sociology, biology, medical terminology, and Greek and Roman humanities. I also found statistics class, which I am taking, to be easy. I still enjoy the lesson even though it's more word problems and properties-based and outside of my comfort zone with numbers. I don't even think of numbers as a struggle. I now have a 100% in the class, and I want to maintain that grade. To sum up, not everyone finds arithmetic easy, but rather than boast, I like helping those who struggle. Rather than wishing my best buddy luck on her impending Pert test to get into Valencia, I decided to help teach her. She is terribly bad at arithmetic. She nearly received a score high enough to move straight from intermediate math to college algebra. On her most recent attempt, my friend was able to begin her job two years sooner than most of her peers in my high school, thanks to her devotion and my assistance. I'm really fond of math. I'm glad to have mastered and grown to appreciate one of the world's most practical universal languages.
Serena Rose Jarvis Memorial College Scholarship
My whole life, I have loved animals. Seeing how different animals live there has always interested me. In my high school year, I have been getting more stressed with every passing year. Now that I am a senior, I have been more stressed than ever. Sometimes I wonder if I really pick the right career, but every time I see ananimal, that question lessons. I am a dual-enrolled student who is taking five classes, and one of those classes is a four-credit biology class. I have to do this twice throughout my entire senior year, while also taking classes in school. Why did I put myself through all this stress, you might ask? Well, it's because I am determined to graduate with my A.A. But even with all this determination, stress will follow. I realized that I also have to take multiple SATs that I have to study for, get a job, and do more senior stuff at my school. I have never been so stressed in my life. But now, slowly, I realize that I have people around me who are there every step of the way. Knowing that if I ever need to talk, I can just text my best friends, and they will calm me down. Some of my friends are also taking the same classes as me. We decided to study together and just help each other out. I have amazing faculty at Ky school who are willing to talk and help me out. I am also a Christian, so God is someone who has never failed me. I believe he has a plan for me, and it showed consideration for how close I am to getting that A.A. Although my metal help has declined quite fast in the past 4 years, it is slowly rising again, leaving me with a sense of hope and confidence. Just like how all these people helped me, I am striving to do the same with all the animal patience I will have in the future. Regardless, if I'm still considering my career and being a veterinarian, I will still help animals as much as I can. I don't see myself doing another career that involves animals. There are animals all around the world who have been through trama, but unlike humans, they do not have the power to pull themselves in the right direction. I hope that, as a future vet, I will be able to save these animals from their inner thoughts and put them on the road to a healthy recovery.
      Minecraft Forever Fan Scholarship
The day my sister first brought Minecraft into the house, I was around eight years old. Me and the rest of my siblings observed her as she played her first survival world. She made each of us our own Minecraft world, but I remember getting mad at her for making my world flat and in creative mode. Her reasoning was because I was underage and she didn't want me to get scared of all the mobs. Now that I'm older, her reasoning makes sense because, at that time, I was scared of everything. Never the less, I was all grumby when she denied my request for a round survival world. I remember as I grumpily played in this flat creative world, the first items I grabbed were a water bucket, a lava bucket, a grass block, and some flowers. I was as far down as I could, which wasn't really far due to the flat world. But I would place lava, then a grass block, water, a grass block, and end with a flower on top. For hours, I just did this to relieve me of the grumpiness I had for this world. Because of this event, I created a new world I named "Creat World," where I would create random stuff. It was a round creative world in a dessert biome. To this day, I still go back and see all the creations I made growing up, always filling me with nostalgia. This game is literally a building block for your imagination. Because of Minecraft, I learned new items that I had never heard of at a young age. Some examples are picaxes, how to make obsideon, and how glass is made. Minecraft brought out dormant game developers. People made mods, inspired games, and even career paths because of this legendary game. Growing up, I also watched music videos with clips of different games. I remember watching multiple Minecraft music story videos of Five Nights at Freddy's. There were songs like The Foxy Song, Sister Location Song, and Follow Me. There were also funny comedies I would watch, like Everybody Do the Flop. Minecraft also brings out people's creativity. With just one YouTube search, you can see the thousands of art pieces that players have made over the years, including mine. Minecraft also brought amazing YouTubers who also filled our childhoods, like DanTDM, The Pals, and Alphmua. It was as I was playing Minecraft in my "Creat World" that I started discovering what I wanted to do with my life. Sometimes, I would wonder, What if my sister never bought the game? What if we never had an Xbox to play the game? What if I grow up never playing or knowing Minecraft? Every time these questions come into my head, I feel grateful that I was lucky enough to have known about the inspirational game. From its tutorial world to its difficult worlds, the game will never get old. Thank you, Minecraft, for being here and continuing to be part of my life.
      Keep Her Dream Alive Scholarship
I've had an interest in animals since I was a child. Every time I saw an animal, I was fascinated by their daily routines. I'd wonder where they came from, how they ate, what they wanted, where their waist went, how they reproduced, if they had families, and so many other questions. My grandparents just moved to a nearby area in Florida while I was between the ages of 12 and 14. At their residence, we were keeping them company. It was another hot day because it was in Florida. Under the bright light, my siblings and I were playing. My sister had nearly stepped on a worm. Although she genuinely loves animals, she is afraid to touch the creators, whom she views as scary or dangerous. I can tell the worm gave up on life because it was so weak. I swiftly caught the wounded animal, letting it stay in my grandparents' shade while tending to its wound till I could see it grow stronger and stronger through movement. I tried to feed the poor animal, but it wasn't working. The weather changed quickly, and it was time to head indoors. I took it outside of my garage and hid it in the grass. Although it hurt to let it go, I felt joy knowing that I had just rescued an animal. There are countless more stories of when I truly wanted to help an animal, but if I were to talk about all of them, this essay would pass its word limit. I'll share with you a few of my most unforgettable, though. We found a baby mockingbird in our backyard. We just watched the bird because, once again, it was hot in Florida. It was extremely hot one day, so my sister told me to get the bird. As always, she was afraid of the mother and the bird. The bird was on a ball and staring at me with its jaws open when I got outdoors. Since it was not moving, I honestly believed it to be dead. We caught the bird and fed it the leftover food that we had for our pet chickens. For the few days we had it, it would chirp and peer out the window. We kept the animals hidden from my mother until we could no longer since she dislikes animals. The mother returned the day she learned, slamming her head against the window in an attempt to reach her child. We put the baby outside on that rainy day, and the moment she left our house, her mother came down and fed her. We all almost started crying since it was such a loving sight. The tiny bird had vanished the following day. The final story I'll share is from my seventh-grade class, when my teacher's friend brought some animals in. They brought a blind dog, a Dragon lizard, and a snake. Science was already my favorite subject, but I was invested in this lesson. When I wanted to talk to them at the end of class, they allowed the dragon lizard to crawl all over me. Unbeknownst to me at the time, that was the day I realized my passion for helping animals. I genuinely adore assisting animals, just like Jakie; it makes me happy. I became determined to devote my life to assisting animals worldwide as a result of all of these encounters. It is not possible for me to recount every situation that brought me to this point, but I hope my essay will demonstrate my commitment to saving animals in need, no matter the risk.
