My name is Shania Strom, and I am a young female with the dream of getting my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Psychology. My long term goal is to become either a Psychotherapist or Occupational therapist, helping those going through mental health issues, cognitive disorders/delays, people who are scared to let out emotions, etc. I have always been a honors student in many classes and started dual enrollment in the summer before 11th grade. I work very hard in making good grades, and I stay out of any kind of trouble. In 2025 I even started an EMS internship and have gotten to get a little experience being in the heath-care field, and seeing different kinds of patients.

When I was younger I used to go to church almost every Sunday, and I went to every vacation Bible school. I got baptized, and got my first Bible, and learned plenty of common prayers. Being a kid I did not know how important my relationship with God actually was, I just enjoyed learning. Yet, as I got older I went through a lot of challenges and realized just how important the Lord is.
My relationship with God has never been perfect. There have been times where I became distant, times where I have blamed God in the past, and times I did not feel like praying. Yet, all this wore off after going through traumatic events, loss, and personal life challenges. This was when I realized God was the one who has gotten me through everything.
One random day I started reading my Bible, and chose to read it everyday after til this day. I chose to get strong in my prayer life, and I am working to make it better. Things like taking notes in my Bible, journaling about it, decorating it, and talking to God about it excite me now. When I was younger my relationship with God was because others wanted me to have it. Now I choose to spend time with God, spread the word, and talk to God for me.
In the last eighteen years of my life I have lost my only grandparent (my grandma), gotten into two car accidents that were other’s fault, and have had plenty of personal life challenges. Through some of these experiences feelings built up that I did not want to communicate to anyone. There were a lot of times I have had mental and physical health issues, but I know God was who got me through. I know it was God, because I only felt real peace after connecting with Him. He has truly been my strength, and He is definitely my Savior.
As I continue to extend my education, I plan to find the right church for me. I want to find Godly people instead of worldly ones that will get closer to God with me. In the future I will continue to read my Bible, talk to God everyday, spread His word, and use other ways to get closer to Him. I know Gods will give my the strength to get through all the challenges in school, as I continue to live through Him.
In conclusion, God has strengthened my faith countless times. God has never given up on me no matter what, so as I continue my educational journey I will live through Him.
