Hello! My name is Shamayah Drew, and I am currently pursuing my master's degree in School Counseling at UNC Greensboro after earning my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Winston-Salem State University. I hold mental health advocacy and awareness close to my heart. Through my own experiences with school counseling and counseling growing up, I have seen both the positive and negative impact that professionals can have on a child's life. Because of that, I hope to be one of the people who truly advocates for and understands children, especially since they are often misunderstood. I have experienced what having a supportive and understanding person can do, and I hope to have that same impact on my future students. I also hope to equip them with skills like healthy coping, emotional awareness, and emotional intelligence that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.
