- Social Work

My life goals are rooted in creating stability, opportunity, and meaningful change, both for my own family and for others. I’m currently completing my Bachelor of General Studies with a concentration in Social Work and Drug and Alcohol Counseling, and upon graduating in May 2026, I will be pursuing a Master of Social Work to build a career working with children and families in school or community-based settings. I want to be someone who not only understands the systems people rely on, but can help others navigate them with clarity and support, because I’ve lived that experience myself. I’m most passionate about helping others feel seen, supported, and empowered during difficult or uncertain times. As someone raised by a single mother and now raising a child on my own, I understand how overwhelming it can be to carry everything while trying to build a better future. I’ve learned how to advocate, adapt, and keep moving forward even when the path wasn’t clear. I’m a strong candidate because my journey has required resilience, determination, and responsibility. I’ve returned to school while working full time and raising my son, committing to goals beyond my current circumstances. I’m not only working toward a degree, but toward building a life that works for us instead of one that feels heavy and impossible.
