Hello! My name is Shadan Alrawi, and I will be attending the University of Michigan Ann Arbor in the Fall of 2023. As a freshman, I will be embarking on a path toward a double major in Biochemistry and Philosophy, with the ultimate goal of a career in medicine. One of my most well-known interests is a passion for learning languages. I’m currently fluent in English, Arabic, Spanish, and Turkish. Additionally, I plan to take German in college. During my high school years, I actively participated in many extracurricular activities that encapsulated my interests and allowed me to demonstrate my commitment to community involvement and personal growth. Some of these activities include Science Olympiad, Student Government, National Honor Society, HOSA, Chess Club, Diversity Club, Newspaper Club, and Math Club. In addition to my academic pursuits that I mentioned above, I also have an interest in web development - a field that intertwines creativity and requires continuous growth in technical expertise. I’m fascinated by this field because it allows developers to optimize the efficiency of online platforms and showcase their growth in creating user-friendly experiences online. Additionally, I’m captivated by blockchain systems and their implications in cryptocurrency. I see this technology as revolutionary to the world of finance and business.
