Bio

Legislation is fundamental to society, but unjust and unrefined laws disenfranchise many. I have a passion for empowering people to reach their full potential, so I continuously endeavor to make the world the best place it can be by creating a positive impact on the individual level and in larger areas of influence as well! To achieve that goal, I have completed three associate degrees in "Economics," "Arts, Humanities, and Communications," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences." I am double majoring in Data Science & Cybersecurity Bachelors as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and Alpha Sigma Lambda honor societies. Since 2015, I have served underrepresented communities with educational assistance and food provision. My experiences in that area have helped me become who I am today. In fulfilling the needs of others, it has been my joy to help ease their burdens, bring peace of mind, and encourage them through the difficulties they encounter. I love working to uplift and inspire others locally. However, while volunteering assistance is essential, problems are often best solved by clearing regulatory roadblocks and implementing mechanisms that meet every person's basic needs while giving them the freedom and resources to find and succeed in their passion. My experiences serving are a continuous inspiration to fix the problems afflicting hardworking and upstanding members of our society. Ultimately, I plan to create an organization that studies the patterns permeating our world to implement optimizations that solve the most pressing issues of our existence.

Academic Liberty & Free Speech Scholarship
"The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is that it is robbing the human race, posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error." - John Stuart Mill Therefore: "Freedom of speech is a principal pillar of a free government; when this support is taken away, the constitution of a free society is dissolved, and tyranny is erected on its ruins." - Benjamin Franklin As these enlightening quotes by equally wise men explain, free speech is not only a matter of personal expression, nor one of mere arbitrary privilege granted to us by those in power, but rather a fundamental human right upon which all healthy and well-functioning are ultimately built. Furthermore, it is essential to sustain and improve that well-being and effectiveness. America is one of the greatest nations in the world. This is not only a great privilege, but also one that bears immense responsibility. As an institution, the college is tasked with facilitating the self-actualization of the population as they advance from childhood into adulthood. That is the foundation of intellectual and personal development, along with complete self-integration and alignment toward the optimal unifying objective for the greatest true good. Free speech is fundamental to this pursuit. This can be revealed through analysis from first principles. Freedom of thought is the origin of this, and is to the individual what freedom of speech is to the collective. Silencing the speech of a nation is the far more dangerous counterpart to destroying the mind of one man, for the former is simply the application of the latter on a devastatingly metastasized level. Hence, it was enshrined in our Constitution by the brilliant drafters who had fought against tyranny and conquered it, not by force of arms nor might alone, but also by "the pen that is mightier than the sword." Authority supersedes power, as neither exists without the other. Power provides the base upon which authority is exercised, and it is the thought which leads to the speech from which action proceeds. Therefore, the command of men is not achieved through force alone. Truly, the deepest form of control is the ability to bend the minds and hearts of others to one's will. Freedom of speech is a critical protection and bulwark against the misuse of this principle by malicious evildoers. This makes the preservation and elevation of this vital principle central to the success of all our positive societal endeavors. My field of study in data science and cybersecurity epitomizes interdisciplinary activity since it applies to most other modern enterprises. , I previously acquired three associate degrees in arts, humanities, and communication, social and behavioral sciences, and economics. I intend to improve the world by making the maximum positive impact on as many people as possible in all areas of life by unifying those skills with my experience debating and evolving the ideas held by myself and others in the pursuit of good.

“Computers are incredibly fast, accurate, and stupid. Human beings are incredibly slow, inaccurate, and brilliant. Together they are powerful beyond imagination.” - Albert Einstein My passion is empowering people to reach their full potential, so I continuously endeavor to enhance the world through action on the individual level and in larger areas of influence. After completing three associate degrees in "Arts, Humanities, Communication," "Economics," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences," I am pursuing a double major in Data Science and Cybersecurity to improve my ability to acquire and secure information, then refine it into the valuable insights that would otherwise go unobserved. Problems are often best solved by implementing systems that enable everyone to meet their basic needs while providing the freedom and resources to find and succeed in their aspirations. I am intrigued by the opportunities to use emerging technologies in the cutting-edge data science field for this goal. Ultimately, I plan to create an organization that studies the patterns permeating our world to implement optimizations that solve the most pressing issues of our existence. Combining expertise in economics, social sciences, art, humanities, and communication with data science, cybersecurity, programming, and computing creates a powerful platform to resolve complex challenges. I enjoy applying continuous optimization and data-driven solutions to seemingly unrelated yet critical areas of life like personal development, success coaching, sports performance, veterinary hygiene, and supply chains. I want to use this scholarship to make the maximum positive impact on the lives of as many people as possible.

My passion is empowering people to reach their full potential, so I continuously endeavor to make the world the best place it can be through action on the individual level and in larger areas of influence. After completing three associate degrees in "Arts, Humanities, Communication," "Economics," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences" in June 2022, I am currently double majoring in Data Science and Cybersecurity at university to improve my ability to acquire and secure information, then refine it into the valuable insights that would otherwise go unobserved. As computers contain much of the data in the modern world and host most of the tools used for understanding that data, I am experienced in programming languages such as HTML, Java, Python, SQL, and JavaScript and have taken courses in related topics such as computing, business information systems, MS Access, PowerBI, Hadoop, and PySpark. Serving underrepresented communities with educational assistance and food distribution since 2015 has helped me become who I am today. Combining expertise in economics, social sciences, art, humanities, and communication with data science, cybersecurity, programming, and computing creates a powerful platform to resolve complex challenges. For example, I would like to develop a food production & distribution pipeline improvement system using data science to identify opportunities for increasing efficiency without sacrificing workers, consumer health, or the environment. I volunteer in technical administration and coordination for a youth organization and have completed several projects in information technology, including employee retention visualization dashboards and a customer churn prediction system. My portfolio includes work with supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms such as K-Nearest Neighbor, logistic regression, Bayesian probabilistic classification, decision trees, and clustering. Since cloud, big data, and distributed computing are potent emerging technologies, I am also skilled at constructing and configuring data science pipelines and data lakes in the industry-leading Amazon Web Services cloud provider using Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Kinesis Firehose Streams, Simple Storage Service (S3), Glue, Athena, SageMaker, and Quicksight and have accomplished many other projects with various tools in data science, cybersecurity, and other disciplines. Furthermore, I enjoy applying the concepts of continuous optimization and data-driven solutions to seemingly unrelated yet critical areas of life like personal development, success coaching, sports performance, veterinary hygiene, and product acquisition. Next year, I will complete my Bachelor degrees and enter the workforce, leveraging the technologies of data science and cybersecurity to improve the world. Wellness Warriors Scholarship
Maintaining a proper balance of activities in life is essential to wellness. Recreation can provide the opportunity to simultaneously enjoy oneself and improve mental health while increasing physical fitness. My job and household chores involve daily walking, running, and strength training, preceded by a warmup session to maintain flexibility and prevent injury. I also spend a few hours each week playing sports like soccer, volleyball, nine square, gaga ball, and parkour. These exercises are both enjoyable and effective at increasing physical fitness. Some other hobbies I enjoy are listening to music, spending time in nature, especially with birds and dogs, hanging out with family and friends, I believe that another facet of wellness is community service and philanthropy. The most apparent benefit therein is the provision of assistance to others, but generosity has a significant positive impact on the volunteer. While it is hardly the first concept one would consider associated with self-care, investing in others can have surprisingly positive effects on oneself while providing the opportunity for mutually fulfilling social interactions. For me, this takes the form of tutoring and assisting a local charity with monthly food preparation. I also serve as a leader for youth organizations, which often includes volunteering technical assistance and lesson planning. Meaning is a critical component of life, as it is impossible to truly thrive without knowing that one’s life and work carry intrinsic significance; helping others delivers a part of this value. Perhaps most importantly, deep friendships provide the support, guidance, and encouragement needed to reach one’s full potential. Nutrition and rest are foundational to wellness in all areas. Each day, I ensure that my intake of critical macronutrients like protein and micronutrients such as vitamins is sufficient to enable exceptional performance in everything I do. Winding down with relaxing habits each night ensures comfortable, restful, restorative sleep. Maintaining personal wellness helps me succeed as a student because people can only be as successful as their physical, mental, emotional, social, and financial health allows. Furthermore, each of these areas is mutually interconnected. That creates ripple effects between the different subsections of overall wellness, intensifying or mitigating positive or negative impacts and experiences. As a result, staying healthy in all aspects of life is the foundation of success in any endeavor. I support my mental health by avoiding stress, learning information from many fields, practicing memory techniques, and contemplating complex topics. Self-regulation techniques, calming activities, and healthy coping mechanisms support emotional health. Keeping strong and healthy relationships with family and friends facilitates social health, while good money habits like spending management and prioritizing saving protect financial health. Particularly for social health, wellness increases academic performance by enhancing discussion participation, developing mutually beneficial relationships with classmates and faculty, and improving collaboration to yield better results on group projects and similar endeavors. Implementing these practices has improved my physical fitness, mental aptitude, and social interactions, helping me to thrive and enjoy life while sustainably contributing to my community and society.

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” Leo Buscaglia It is easy to attempt to begin changing the world at the global level, but by serving our immediate community, even the most seemingly minor acts of kindness and generosity can create not only the initial and directly visible positive impact but also a ripple effect that benefits the person or group served in that specific instance along with others who they influence. Therefore, I commit myself to community service because it is one of the best ways to better the world by helping its people. My time serving underrepresented communities with educational assistance and food distribution since 2015 has helped me become who I am today. SmartAsset College SmartStart Personal Finance Scholarship
"Don't tell yourself why can't I, but rather ask yourself how can I" is universally beneficial advice across every area of life. However, we often focus on the lack of financial resources rather than increasing our procurement of funds. Much like "work smarter, not harder," the adage above redirects our effort to an endeavor much more helpful than simply plunging ourselves deeper into a frustratingly repetitive routine. In economics, opportunity cost is the idea that any time spent during an activity "costs" not doing the next best alternative. Ultimately, this makes us realize that if we use our time in highly beneficial ways by increasing efficiency, our opportunities will expand, causing a positive snowball effect as the value of our time increases, simultaneously enhancing productivity and enjoyment. True entrepreneurs, businesspeople, and executives recognize that investment is required to reap a higher return. Applying this idea to our lives, we can use the proven methods of the most successful individuals and corporations to procure similarly excellent results. While it is easy to bog down and lock into a routine of working in frustration, it is critical to focus on expanding passive and active income to create multiple recurring revenue streams, continuously refining our cash flows to derive maximum benefit. Salaried work is the foundation of the initial environment and equipment necessary to advance in these other pursuits, and temporary expense reductions are often required. However, a correctly implemented positive investment snowball of expanding cash inflows is one of the most impactful forces for achieving financial freedom. Ultimately, based on this, I believe that the best financial advice I have ever received, particularly in terms of expanding income streams, is to acquire valuable and scarce skills to increase marketability and profit potential, invest time and effort in perfecting the use of those crafts, and managing money well to procure full benefit from those funds. It is excellent monetary guidance because it covers the core elements of economic success: maximizing profit and optimizing expenditure. Furthermore, it reveals the key to one of the most challenging elements of wealth-building: increasing income. In keeping with this advice, I have also found great success in my personal life. My passion is empowering people to reach their full potential, so I continuously endeavor to make the world the best place it can be through action on the individual level and in larger areas of influence. After completing three associate degrees in the widely relevant topics of "Arts, Humanities, Communication," "Economics," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences" in June 2022, I am currently double majoring in the high-demand fields of Data Science and Cybersecurity at university to improve my ability to acquire and secure information, then refine it into the valuable insights that would otherwise go unobserved. As computers contain much of the data in the modern world and host most of the tools used for understanding that data, I am experienced in programming languages such as HTML, Java, Python, SQL, and JavaScript and have taken courses in related topics such as computing, business information systems, MS Access, and PowerBI. These flexible skills can expand income in a variety of job roles. One of the most valuable and scarce skills is integrating a variety of knowledge domains into technological innovations and societal advancements. Familiarity with economics, social sciences, art, humanities, and communication, added to data science, cybersecurity, programming, and computer tools, creates a powerful toolbox for resolving complex challenges. A specific example is that I would like to develop a food production & distribution pipeline improvement system using data science to identify opportunities for increasing efficiency without sacrificing workers, consumer health, or the environment. For wellness, the privacy of computer-hosted health data is critical. By protecting personal data from unauthorized intrusion, modification, and theft with cybersecurity, we can improve the physical condition of our society. In turn, data science can enhance our wellness information analysis to find ways to increase fitness and prevent disease. Data science and cybersecurity synergize in mutually beneficial arrangements. Similarly, data science helps perfect service offerings for client satisfaction and augments efficiency by optimizing processes. In the next five years, I will complete my Bachelor's degrees and enter the workforce to leverage the technologies of data science and cybersecurity in improving the world, including contributions along the lines of the scenarios outlined above. I want to use this scholarship to achieve that goal of making the maximum positive impact in the lives of as many people as possible.

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” Leo Buscaglia It is easy to attempt to begin changing the world at the global level, but by serving our immediate community, even the smallest acts of kindness and generosity can create not only the initial and directly visible positive impact, but also a ripple effect that benefits the person or group served in that specific instance along with others who they influence. Therefore, I commit myself to community service because it is one of the best ways to better the world by helping its people. Your Dream Music Scholarship
"A lot of people have their big dreams and get knocked down and don't have things go their way. And you never give up hope, and you really just hold on to it. Hard work and perserverance. You just keep getting up and getting up, and then you get that breakthrough." - Robert Kraft Technology provides an accessibility to powerful production tools, flooding the modern world with all types of music. A wide variety of genres have originated from, and found renewed popularity through it, from instrumental, rap, pop, motivational, instrumental, and many more. My musical tastes are similarly expansive, but given the immense quantity of songs with superb quality and the equally wide spread of important messages, it is quite a challenge to find the most meaningful one. Nonetheless, if it possible to summarize all the virtues, pursuits, and endeavors required to optimize the world and uplift others, beyond the key foundation of doing good, I believe it is persistence. The song Never Surrender by Liv Ash epitomizes this core value. We sometimes must change our goals, systems, and methods, but the key to success in both individual achievement and creating the maximum positive impact on the world and the lives of others is to never give up on doing the most good possible. Life will become difficult. Seemingly insurmountable obstacles are inevitable. The only way to conquer them is indomitable tenacity.
Sean Carroll's Mindscape Big Picture Scholarship
The greatest advancements in civilization frequently often originate from pursuing knowledge. When we seek to comprehend the world and grow in our understanding of it, so does our ability to create complex systems and the potential to improve the state of the planet. However, it is important to steward that power well. Hence we must not only study the current state of the universe but should also recognize that our actions affect the future and then practice properly evaluating and selecting our choices from the many possible paths that could be taken. This practical application of information is certainly a worthwhile goal and a valid reason to prioritize learning, but it is not the only purpose for pursuing understanding. As we investigate the world with a curious mind and a logical approach, the journey itself develops character and constitutes an intrinsically fulfilling endeavor. This personal growth is key to realizing our full potential and helping others to do so as well. Furthermore, the truths that are internalized through this process are the foundation of true progress not only as individuals, but also for our entire society. So, after completing three associate degrees in "Arts, Humanities, Communication," "Economics," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences," I am currently majoring in Data Science and Cybersecurity at university to improve my ability to acquire and secure information, then refine it into the valuable insights that would otherwise go unobserved. Since much modern data is contained in computers, I have worked with programming languages such as HTML, Java, Python, SQL, and JavaScript, along with taking courses in related topics such as computing, business information systems, and MS Access. Philosophy, ethics, and logic illuminate all aspects of life, but are particularly key to understanding the future and building the best possible iteration thereof. Science and technology provide us with a wealth of information and a variety of skills, but these resources are an inherently neutral double-edged sword. With warped morals, our capabilities would cause destruction and loss. Conversely, a coherent ethical philosophy is the cornerstone of using these resources to become the best we can possibly be. Using what we have to uplift people by giving generously, investing in their lives, and helping them to grow is one of the best ways to use our abilities and knowledge for a great good. Therefore, by expanding our knowledge and understanding of the universe, we can provide others with the concrete necessities and abstract concepts that enable them to do the same, helping us all to achieve enlightenment and fulfillment.
    Femi Chebaís Scholarship
I have a passion for empowering people to reach their full potential, so my goal in life is to provide skills and resources that uplift, inspire, and enable others to achieve there dreams. Specifically, I enjoy using technology and data science to educate about STEM, economics, art, science, and society so that they can develop can find their passion and fulfill their purpose.
    Black Students in STEM Scholarship
Uplifting our fellow human beings is one of the most fulfilling activities in life and one of the primary reasons for society's existence as an organization of individuals who collaborate to assist one another in reaching higher heights than could be achieved alone. By providing goods and services that people find valuable, maximizing quantity and quality with the minimum possible investment of production inputs. Therefore, I am passionate about STEM and entrepreneurship because they most effectively fulfill this function of creating and optimizing systems that provide the foundation necessary for safe, productive, and enjoyable lives. The essence of science, technology, engineering, math, and business is to identify problems, find solutions, and apply those improvements to benefit the world. When we begin with the objective of creating goods and services that provide increasing benefit to others, STEM and entrepreneurship are some of the most powerful tools available to create success, not only for ourselves as individuals but also for those we serve. Furthermore, STEM and entrepreneurial endeavors are superb ways to advance diversity and inclusivity. Although some have sought to manufacture false justifications for exclusion through pseudoscience, history has shown that pursuing truth with actual science will cast a conclusive verdict against such manipulators. We recognize that all people are unique while also sharing significant common ground. Therefore, we are strongest when we combine the perspectives and approaches of diverse individuals. Understanding that principle, we also observe that STEM is impartial to race; math does not discriminate by outward attributes. Those who recognize that everyone can contribute value will be more successful than those who wish to exclude people because of superficial prejudices. I love to empower people to reach their full potential, which includes doing my part to help develop skills in STEM and entrepreneurship, especially for fellow members of underrepresented communities. Since 2015, I have done this through math tutoring and have seen firsthand the benefits of learning STEM. To refine my skills in these areas, I am currently completing three associate degrees in "Economics," "Arts, Humanities, and Communications," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences." Also, I recently began my Bachelor's of Data Science at a university with a course in computer programming with Python and Java. In the long term, my goal is to form a company that helps diverse individuals and aspiring entrepreneurs efficiently develop competence and confidence in STEM and business to achieve their full potential and create a positive impact on the world!
    Bold Financial Freedom Scholarship
"Don't tell yourself why can't I, but rather ask yourself how can I" is universally beneficial advice across every area of life. However, we often focus on the lack of financial resources rather than increasing our procurement of funds. Much like "work smarter, not harder," the adage above redirects our effort to an endeavor that is much more helpful than simply plunging ourselves deeper into a frustratingly repetitive routine. In economics, opportunity cost is the idea that any time spent during an activity "costs" doing the next best activity. Ultimately, this makes us realize that if we use our time in high-benefit ways by increasing efficiency, our opportunities will expand, causing a positive snowball effect as the value of our time increases, simultaneously enhancing productivity and enjoyment. True entrepreneurs, businesspeople, and executives recognize that investment is required to reap a higher return. Applying this idea to our lives, we can use the proven methods of the largest corporations and most successful individuals to procure similarly excellent results. While it is easy to become bogged down and locked into a routine of working in frustration, it is critical to focus on expanding passive and active income to create multiple streams of recurring revenue, continuously refining our cash flows to derive maximum benefit. Salaried work is the foundation of the initial environment and equipment necessary to advance in these other pursuits, and temporary expense reductions are often required. However, a correctly implemented positive investment snowball of expanding cash inflows is one of the most impactful forces to achieve financial freedom.
    Bold Future of Education Scholarship
Education is a critical driver of societal progress and advancement in all areas, from STEM to art. All other products seek to provide maximum benefit with minimum cost, so it stands to reason that education ought to follow suit. Ultimately, we must ensure that education is accessible and achievable for as many people as possible. To fulfill this objective, we should increase the diversity and quality of available educational options and leverage tools to make these affordable and applicable to employment and other opportunities. Excessively rigid educational institutions utilize the damaging approach of conforming students to a presumed pattern of success within a predetermined set of reductionist metrics. Developing competent and compassionate citizens begins with creating a system of education that possesses the same characteristics. While measuring progress and building skills are all key, we must understand the many ways to achieve this goal while cultivating true virtue. I am currently completing three associate degrees in "Economics," "Arts, Humanities, and Communications," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences." Earlier this month, I began working on my Bachelor's of Data Science at the University of Maryland. To summarize the best elements of my educational experiences in one change for the system at large, it would be the expansion of microlearning. This paradigm shift consists of three major contributing components: first, using platforms dedicated to this learning method, second, incorporating credit earned through these systems into overall educational profiles, and third, perhaps most importantly, universally employing the proficiency focus over grade grouping categorization. This recommendation has been proven effective through student satisfaction and learning success, as indicated by the existing adoption efforts of prominent institutions. During the industrial revolution, the owners of expansive factory businesses lobbied for the educational system to facilitate productivity in the commodity-focused economy, conditioning workers for repetitive tasks. In the modern world, creativity and the ability to intelligently devise new patterns and approaches are foundational, making independent and critical thought far more beneficial than recursive tasks alone. By expanding the use of updatable credentials to verify proficiency and incentivizing the review and acquisition of skills through microlearning, we can significantly improve the education of future students, preparing society for success through the development of its citizens.
    Jack “Fluxare” Hytner Memorial Scholarship
In a dynamic and often turbulent world, we are all acted upon by many outside forces while also exerting our own effort upon that environment. The dictionary defines influence as the power to cause an effect, but the ultimate level of influence is a profoundly uplifting manifestation of that principle: it is to overcome circumstances that are often challenging to create a positive impact in the lives of others, giving them the strength to conquer the obstacles that they face and then continue doing the same for more people. I influence those around me by being positive and helpful wherever possible while also volunteering to serve underrepresented communities in food preparation and tutoring. I also love to brighten people's days with a cheerful attitude, smile, and greeting! When beginning to transfer to college at 13 while finishing high school early, there was opposition to my participation in courses at a significantly younger age than the average student, along with the additional paperwork and permission required to take classes while in high school. Fortunately, after several conversations and interviews with admissions and faculty, two professors and a dean were very kind in providing me with the opportunity to take their courses. Since then, I have been able to successfully complete the assignments while contributing to the enrichment of our classroom discussions and encouraging my classmates. Over this Spring term, I am finishing my last class needed to complete three associate degrees in "Economics," "Arts, Humanities, and Communications," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences." Earlier this month, I also began studying my dream career field of Data Science at the University of Maryland Global Campus. I am pursuing Data Science because it is the key to leveraging the modern deluge of data via analytical technologies to generate a positive impact on the world. Ultimately, I plan to create a business that specializes in this, applying machine learning and the other various tools of data science to solve the challenges that people face, improving the state of the world and our relationships with one another. To me, receiving this scholarship would mean an opportunity to continue pressing forward toward that goal, honoring Jack's legacy of kindness, excellence, and inspiring others. Thank you, Jack, for the positive impact that you made on the world, and thank you to Steven and the entire community for carrying on that mission!

    Bold Talent Scholarship
Optimizing: one of the most critical capabilities in existence; fundamental to the capacity for improvement. In a sense, everything we do is to optimization - eating decreases hunger, exercising builds fitness: all activities improve something. To truly optimize is to unlock one's full potential and help others to do so as well. It is the utilization of limited resources to generate the maximum positive impact possible in any and every set of circumstances. To improve optimization is to learn, refine, and perfect every aspect of existence - then apply that process to itself by advancing the very ability to optimize the world! Therefore, I continuously analyze the systems that surround me and seek to develop and implement enhancements to them. Thought is the foundational genesis of all actions, so I study a variety of subjects and skills to be knowledgeable and adept at effectively employing that information to create positive outcomes. Bold Generosity Matters Scholarship
There are three categories of resources that we all possess in varying quantities: time, skills, and commodities. If each person only uses these for their own benefit, then the realization of good is limited. Generosity is to give of these three possessions to others, unlocking a greater and deeper happiness in both those being helped and those who are giving the help. I volunteered with the Saddleback PEACE Center in Food Distribution weekly for two years and, since then, have also begun serving with Moments of Hope in preparing food every month. At the PEACE Center, we gave each family an individual shopping trip through the pantry, providing them with the opportunity to select the food items that would be most useful to them. Then, we help transfer the food to their vehicles, provide emotional support, and offer beneficial resources, including career counseling, life coaching, and other helpful services. At Moments of Hope, we prepare meal packages, store them in coolers, and load those into trucks, which then transport the food to an inner-city park for distribution to the homeless and disadvantaged who are there. I love seeing the positive impact that this makes on each family. Additionally, I donate to charitable organizations and provide educational assistance to underrepresented communities through the PEACE Center's tutoring department. The joy of assisting others through their difficult times also teaches that anyone of any character or circumstances can, and eventually will, encounter obstacles that require the aid of others to surmount. Alone, it is difficult to achieve the goals that become effortless when united in a well-organized group. Investing in others provides mutual enrichment and allows us to uplift those in challenging circumstances, empowering them to overcome obstacles that would otherwise be critically limiting and receive the joy that comes only from generosity.
    Bold Goals Scholarship
I have a passion for empowering people to reach their full potential, so I continuously endeavor to make the world the best place it can be by creating a positive impact on the individual level and in larger areas of influence as well! To better achieve that goal, I will soon transfer to a university to pursue a bachelor’s in Data Science after graduating from college this year with three associate degrees in "Arts, Humanities, Communication," "Economics," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences." Since 2015, I have served underrepresented communities with educational assistance and food provision. My experiences in that area have helped me become who I am today. In fulfilling the basic needs of others, it has been my joy to help ease their burdens, bring peace of mind, and encourage them through the difficulties they encounter. I love working to uplift and inspire others locally, but we can only change so much as individuals. Volunteering assistance is essential, but problems are often best solved by implementing mechanisms that enable everyone to meet their basic needs while providing them with the freedom and resources to find and succeed in their passion. My experiences serving are a continuous inspiration to put my best effort into fixing the problems that afflict hardworking and upstanding members of our society. So, after completing my bachelor's, I will apply my skills in the Humanities and Data Science to create a positive impact in people's lives by optimizing the key systems that affect us. Ultimately, I plan to create a business that develops an understanding of the patterns that permeate our environment, then formulates and applies optimizations to solve the most pressing issues encountered in our world.
    Bold Confidence Matters Scholarship
Circumstances frequently feature shifting aspects that even our maximal possible exertion could not change. If this is the case, then confidence predicated upon one's external environment is neither stable nor secure, but controlled by outside actors and events. Therefore, true confidence is built not on circumstances, but rather upon true character. Secondarily, the capabilities that one develops contribute to confidence as well. So, I endeavor to continuously learn and grow in knowledge, skill, and strength of mind, body, and character. One key to unlocking this full potential is to build skill and tackle challenges, for oneself, with others, and for others. By seeking and contesting difficult obstacles with commitment and persistence in every area of life, physically and mentally, we can achieve this goal. Therefore, I enjoy studying an expansive array of intriguing and complex subjects and skills to become knowledgeable and adept at effectively employing that information to create positive outcomes. Currently, I am focusing on refining my understanding and implementation of philosophy, ethics, and logic. After two years in community college, I will graduate in Spring 2022 with three associate degrees in "Arts, Humanities, Communication," "Economics," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences." I also love challenging myself with novel experiences that require intense focus, acuity, activity, and audacity. Intellectually, this includes exploring new concepts, solving puzzles such as the eight queens problem, and my current interest in stock trading. Immense reward requires substantial risk, but boldness is more profitable than prioritizing convenience. I also like to try new fitness activities, such as my recently acquired hobbies of basketball, volleyball, and diving. The constant journey of personal development and investing in others is the core of bravery, boldness, optimization, and confidence. It also creates a positive impact on society!

This existence contains many choices, possibilities, and paths. Therefore, understanding the meaning of life is essential to living it well. Recognizing the value, abilities, and character of each person, we can observe that realizing one's full potential and helping others to do so as well is ultimately the meaning of life. The key to unlocking full potential is to build skill and tackle challenges, for oneself, with others, and for others. By seeking and contesting difficult obstacles with commitment and persistence in every area of life, physically and mentally, we can achieve this goal. Therefore, I study an expansive array of subjects and skills to become knowledgeable and adept at effectively employing that information to create positive outcomes. I am currently developing a system of philosophy, ethics, and logic for impartially assessing and determining optimal processing patterns and actions. I give to my community by volunteering with charitable organizations, tutoring students from underrepresented groups, and assisting a local charity with monthly food preparation. I have experience programming in HTML, Java, Python, and JavaScript and am completing courses in modern computing, business information systems, MS Access, and SQL this month. After two years in community college, I will graduate in Spring 2022 with three associate degrees in "Arts, Humanities, Communication," "Economics," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences." Bold Fuel Your Life Scholarship
Just as vehicles require energy to move, we need fulfillment to continue living life in the best way possible. Our endeavors, objectives, relationships, and recreational activities make a critical contribution to that goal. My current career focus is to develop proficiency in Data Science, leveraging that skill to create a positive impact on the world. Therefore, I will soon transfer to a university to pursue a bachelor’s in Data Science after graduating from college this year with three associate degrees in "Arts, Humanities, Communication," "Economics," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences." I like to incorporate exercise into my life with an hour or two of pickup sports each week, usually basketball and parkour. I also enjoy some relaxing hobbies like gardening, drawing, journaling, and listening to music. These fun activities also help clear my mind, prevent anxiety, and maintain fitness. I also like giving back to my community by volunteering with charitable organizations, tutoring students from underrepresented groups and assisting a local charity with monthly food preparation. Meaning is a critical component of our existence, as it is impossible to truly thrive without knowing that our life and work carry intrinsic significance. Helping others delivers a part of this value. Perhaps most importantly, deep friendships provide the support, guidance, and encouragement needed to reach full potential. Combining generativity with methods to disconnect from stress and decompress with rest is key to productivity and enjoyment. Personally, these practices have improved my physical fitness, mental aptitude, and social interactions, helping me thrive and enjoy life while sustainably contributing to my community and society.
    Bold Hobbies Scholarship
Balancing activities and dedicating time to recreation is critical to preventing burnout and achieving success. Sufficient relaxation prevents fatigue and gives us time to recalibrate and recharge. Hobbies can provide the opportunity to simultaneously enjoy oneself and improve mental health by releasing stress while developing useful skills. I like to incorporate exercise into my life with a short daily workout composed of basic calisthenics. I also enjoy some therapeutic hobbies like gardening and drawing. These activities help clear my mind and prevent anxiety. An hour or two of sports weekly, like pickup basketball and parkour, is an excellent way to exercise while having fun. I also like listening to relaxing music and journaling. Currently, I am working on establishing a robust system of philosophy, ethics, and logic that will serve as a suitable standard by which to assess and determine optimal processing patterns and actions. Another interest of mine is stock trading and technical analysis, which I am refining to develop a strategic algorithm. Volunteering with charitable organizations provides the opportunity to help others and recharge. For me, this consists of providing math tutoring to underrepresented communities and assisting a local charity with monthly food preparation. Meaning is a critical component of life, as it is impossible to truly thrive without knowing that one’s life and work carry intrinsic significance. Helping others delivers a part of this value. Deep friendships provide the support, guidance, and encouragement needed to reach one’s full potential. Personally, these pursuits have improved my physical fitness, mental aptitude, and social interactions, helping me to thrive and enjoy life while sustainably contributing to my community and society.
    Bold Encouraging Others Scholarship
Being kind to and connecting deeply with both new acquaintances and close longtime friends forges the robust and valuable relationships that make life worth living. Just as journeys have challenging seasons and pleasant moments, our existence overflows with times that are either immensely difficult or incredibly delightful when knowing that someone cares and is standing with us brings beautiful comfort and happiness. So, I love to encourage others by highlighting their strengths and virtues, contributing to and congratulating successes, providing support in challenging times, spending time with friends and family, and giving my time, skills, and resources to those in need of them. Appreciating life and sharing that joy with others in a smile or compliment is one of my favorite ways to encourage others in any situation. I also like using upbeat humor to inspire and uplift those around me. In addition to verbal compliments, I also enjoy contributing in material ways. I volunteered with the Saddleback PEACE Center in Food Distribution weekly for two years and, since then, have also begun serving with Moments of Hope in preparing food every month. I love seeing the positive impact that this makes on each family. Additionally, I donate to charitable organizations and provide educational assistance to underrepresented communities through the PEACE Center's tutoring department. There are many ways to encourage; from simply smiling at a stranger to helping someone with their groceries or giving a friend an inspiring compliment, we can use kindness and positivity to help brighten one another's lives!
    Bold Bravery Scholarship
Apathetic muscles face imminent atrophy. Without challenges, we wilt and wither away, listless. Comfort is an excellent servant, but if allowed to master a person, it becomes a prison that prevents us from reaching our full potential. So, it is beneficial to seek difficult obstacles and tackle them with commitment and persistence. This pursuit forces personal development, as character and skill must grow with the magnitude of adversity that we approach. I study an expansive array of subjects and skills to become knowledgeable and adept at effectively employing that information to create positive outcomes. Currently, I am focusing on establishing a robust system of philosophy, ethics, and logic that will serve as a suitable standard by which to assess and determine optimal processing patterns and actions. I am also learning about modern computing, business information systems, MS Access, and SQL in my courses, in addition to my experience with programming in HTML, Java, Python, and JavaScript. After two years in community college, I will graduate in Spring 2022 with three associate degrees in "Arts, Humanities, Communication," "Economics," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences." I enjoy challenging myself with novel experiences that require training, tenacity, and temerity. Intellectually, this includes exploring new concepts, solving puzzles such as the eight queens problem, and my current interest in stock trading. Immense reward requires substantial risk, but boldness is more profitable than prioritizing convenience. I also like to try new fitness activities such as my recently acquired hobbies of basketball, volleyball, and diving. The constant journey of personal development and investing in others is the core of bravery, boldness, and optimization. It also creates a positive impact on society!
    Bold Speak Your Mind Scholarship
Free speech is so critical to the success of society that it is enshrined in the First Amendment of the American Constitution. Under the weight of truth, tyranny cannot stand and error ceases to persist. Speech is the key to finding and communicating truth, as it permits us to no longer keep our thoughts and philosophies to ourselves alone, but to instead share them with others. Thereby, we gain clarity, elevate one another's understanding, and acquire the benefit of various perspectives to highlight, complement, and refine our beliefs. Realizing the profound and vital importance of honestly expressing one's thoughts is the cornerstone of engaging in that practice consistently. To confidently speak of the positions that one holds, those beliefs ought to be worthy of certainty. Therefore, I endeavor to continuously learn and analyze the topics that I have opinions on in order to ensure that sound reasoning supports my points. When we genuinely prioritize the well-being of our fellow people, responsibly research the issues in our world, apply accurate analysis thereto, and recognize the value of our viewpoints, we can confidently contribute our perspective to the discussions that we encounter.
    Bold Joy Scholarship

Some additional pursuits of mine include listening to music, journaling, studying a wide variety of subjects, and writing about multiple topics, especially my current project of establishing a robust system of philosophy, ethics, and logic. To seek joy is to appreciate the best within oneself, other people, and the world while investing in all three - delighting in the journey of living life well and enjoying the fulfillment that it brings!
    Bold Loving Others Scholarship
While tasks and time management are significant facets of life, people are even more valuable. Through kindness, we help those around us to feel appreciated and enjoy the wonders and beauty of life and friendship. So, I like to encourage others by highlighting their strengths and virtues, contributing to and congratulating successes, providing support in challenging times, spending time with friends and family, serving others, and giving time, skills, and resources. The joy of assisting others through their difficult times also teaches that anyone, no matter their kindness, wealth, or any other positive or negative characteristic, can encounter obstacles that require the aid of others to surmount. While it is possible to maintain a selfish focus exclusively on one's own goals, I have found that the greatest fulfillment comes from being kind and helpful to others.
    Bold Best Skills Scholarship
Computers are critical to modern life. Since ENIAC and vacuum tubes, the technology has progressed and proliferated. The mathematical problems that once required seven tons of material, seven billion dollars, and an entire room to solve can now be calculated by a $2 chip the size of a thumbnail - 500,000 times faster. Working with computer systems is one of my best skills and one that I continuously work to improve. Over the four weeks of Spring Intersession, I am currently taking "The Computer & Society," which studies the history of computing and its modern aspects, along with "Business Information Systems," which focuses on databases, specifically the Microsoft Office Access application, and SQL, which interfaces with MS Access. I also have experience in a wide variety of programming languages, specifically HTML, Scratch, Java, Python, JavaScript, and Processing, which combines Python and JS with visual graphics functions. I recently began exploring Pine as well, a scripting language used by the platform TradingView.com for technical analysis of economic markets. This year, I will graduate with associate degrees in "Arts, Humanities, Communication," "Economics," and "Social and Behavioral Sciences" and transfer to a university for my bachelor's degree in Data Science. By gaining skill in computer technology and using it to optimize the systems that surround us, I am employing one of the most foundational components of modern society to create a positive impact on the world!
    Bold Acts of Service Scholarship
Service to others is at the heart of every well-functioning group. In addition to helping people where possible in daily life, I volunteered with the Saddleback PEACE Center in Food Distribution weekly for two years and, since then, have also begun serving with Moments of Hope in preparing food every month. At the PEACE Center, we gave each family an individual shopping trip through the pantry, providing them with the opportunity to select the food items that would be most useful to them. Then, we help the families transfer the food to their vehicles, talk with them, provide emotional support, and offer resources for career counseling and life coaching. At Moments of Hope, we prepare meal packages, store them in coolers, and load those into trucks, which then transport the food to an inner-city park for distribution to the homeless and disadvantaged who are there. I love seeing the positive impact that this makes on the families. I also donate to charitable organizations and provide educational assistance to underrepresented communities through the PEACE Center's tutoring department. Currently, I am programming an algorithm to enable more people to make more profits in the market with significantly reduced risk and time investment. While volunteering, I've met many people who exert their best effort in life, but face challenges that they can't overcome alone. The joy of assisting them through that difficult time also teaches that anyone, no matter their kindness, wealth, or any other positive or negative characteristic, can encounter obstacles that require the aid of others to surmount. Sometimes, those we help may surpass our status and, in turn, help those who had assisted them. Compassion and empathy are the only actions that we can conclude are reasonable when considering these facts.
    Pandemic's Box Scholarship
The pandemic has profoundly impacted the world by redirecting our connections and activities in novel ways, shifting our paradigm by challenging us to adapt to change, adjust our status quo, and adopt previously unexplored, yet often superior, alternatives. I started college in 2020, pursuing my associate's degree in economics when the requirement for physical distancing increased the opportunity for online classes and remote employment via the Internet. The slower pace of life gave me time to contemplate a variety of topics and refine my perspective on the world. I have always been interested in a broad array of subjects and willingly accepted the challenge to transition from generality into mastery. With the dramatic expansion of the Internet economy, I decided to transfer to a four-year university for a bachelor's in cybersecurity while developing my other interests into marketable skills. I also learned a vital lesson: apparent adversity can be seen as an insurmountable obstacle, but overcoming it will yield great rewards. This motivates me to continue seeking out ambitious endeavors and conquering them, an acquisition that is more valuable than the absence of opposition. Most importantly, the pandemic's hardships inspired me to invest in helping others through their difficult times.
    Bold Self-Care Scholarship
One of the most important aspects of health is to maintain a proper balance of activities in life. As Maslow’s hierarchy demonstrates, there are many tiers in self-care: work is necessary to fulfill the social contract by which we procure the resources necessary to maintain life, sufficient rest prevents fatigue, and relaxation gives us time to recalibrate and recharge. Recreation, when done correctly, can provide the opportunity to simultaneously enjoy oneself and improve mental health while increasing physical fitness. I like to incorporate exercise into my life with both a short daily workout whenever I can manage some basic calisthenics such as push-ups and sit-ups, along with therapeutic hobbies like gardening sometimes. Once or twice weekly, an hour or two of sports like pickup basketball and parkour is a wonderful way to exercise while having fun. Another facet of self-care is community service and philanthropy. The most obvious benefit therein is the provision of assistance to others, but the act of being generous has a significant positive impact on the volunteer. While it is hardly the first concept one would consider associated with self-care, investing in others can have surprisingly positive effects on oneself while also providing the opportunity for amazing social interactions. In my life, this takes the form of tutoring and assisting a local charity with monthly food preparation. Meaning is a critical component of life, as it is impossible to truly thrive without knowing that one’s life and work carry intrinsic significance; helping others delivers a part of this value. Perhaps most importantly, deep friendships will provide the support, guidance, and encouragement needed to reach one’s full potential. Personally, implementing these practices has improved my physical fitness, mental aptitude, and social interactions, helping me to thrive and enjoy life while sustainably contributing to my community and society.
    Bold Friendship Matters Scholarship
In life, everyone will encounter overwhelming hardship, average days, and wonderful successes. True friends are those people who deeply understand and accept us unconditionally, comfort us in challenging times, applaud our successes, and always inspire us to press toward our full potential and be who we were made to be – and they are those for whom we do the same. Around these people, we can truly be ourselves, in the best way possible. Many of the greatest friendships are like diamonds - valuable since they are formed when subjected to intense stress and darkness because these times are when we learn who actually stands with us – and when their companionship means the most. At such crossroads, real friends provide support and compassion that brightens even the darkest night. In normalcy, like the mining and cutting of a diamond, they are the people who help motivate us to stay consistent in maintaining good habits and pressing to higher heights of achievement. When we reach those goals, as akin to the refined display of a crown jewel, they congratulate us and are the people with whom we enjoy those good times while their presence amplifies the moment’s sweetness. Communication is essential, but the true friend does all these things with both their speech and action. Such a friendship requires all the investment and energy that it takes to create diamonds, but gives a value that exceeds the preciousness and beauty of any gem.
    Impact Scholarship for Black Students
Hello! I am currently an undergraduate student at Santiago Canyon College. I love to help others achieve their life goals while lifting the burden of life's mundane necessities. Through the Saddleback PEACE Center, I have served in food distribution and currently tutor students in junior high and high school. My passion for empowering others and making the world the best place it can be has led me to major in Economics with the goal of becoming a policy analyst. Legislation permeates every area of life, but it often causes as many problems as it solves. By contributing to the optimization of this foundational element of society, I will be able to remedy the root causes of problems that affect diligent and respectable citizens and ensure that they are rewarded justly for their efforts. The first step to this objective is creating an equitable world in which everyone has the equal opportunity and freedom of decision needed to fulfill their life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. These core values of our great republic have often been held as esteemed virtues, but we as a society have not always lived up to the standard they represent. My experience assisting underserved individuals has helped me become who I am today. Through working with truly good people who have found themselves in situations of need, it is my joy to uplift them and ease as much of their burdens as possible. However, it also demonstrates that in our society, socioeconomic mobility isn't always what it is lauded to be. This understanding has shaped my life goals: whatever influence and finances I am blessed with, I am committed to investing in the betterment of everyday citizens. In policy analysis and economics specifically, it is essential to avoid being consumed with statistics to the neglect of the individual. Gaining as much knowledge as possible can improve the accuracy of our calculations, but only direct interaction with those affected by legislation ensures the empathy necessary to make the right decisions. Therefore, I strive to constantly improve myself and contribute as much as I can to elevating the circumstances of others. Through respectfully engaging with people of varying views and even perspectives contrary to mine, the positions I hold have been refined beyond the point possible in an echo chamber. It is a challenge to thoughtfully consider opinions we don't agree with, but so doing is an exercise that grants immeasurable benefits if we are willing to undertake it. There is a saying that if we don't put maximum effort into the smallest actions, our exertion for the most important endeavors will fail. Hence, I invest myself fully in deeply studying the topics discussed in my classes, accounting for the perspectives of those directly affected by each issue, and finally giving the most thoughtful and well-researched contribution possible. After graduating high school early at 14 and entering college, I am working to start my own business and continue giving to the causes I am passionate about. I have been participating in the National Bible Bee since 2015 and have been blessed to qualify for nationals every year, make semifinals four times, and achieve second place twice, once in the Primary division and again in the Junior division. The values I have internalized and techniques that I learned have proven indispensable in my current studies. Through the NBB, I have also been afforded several opportunities to share our passages at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention, speak on radio programs such as Revive our Hearts and Family Life Today, and do an interview with a youth ministry called the Rebelution, which focuses on inspiring teens to achieve great things regardless of our age. Last year in 2020, I was able to assist two of my fellow NBB contestants in significantly improving their competition placements, with one of them even qualifying for finals for the first time and winning second place. Through the NBB, I have had the chance to give to a variety of nonprofit organizations as well. One of these opportunities included contributing to a matching gift program that started two youth programs in Africa. I aim to bless others with every blessing I receive, of both money and time. When we have much, we will only do as much as when we had little. Therefore, I am creating and maintaining the habits of diligence, respect, and philanthropy now so that they may persist throughout my life. I hope is to make the world the best place possible and inspire others to do the same. If each individual invests just a little bit more in uplifting others, we can together transform society into its most virtuous form. Each day, I work to make everyone else's time on this earth just a little bit better while encouraging others to do so as well!
