Bio
A resilient and venturous young professional with a knack for taking care of others.
I am currently a sophomore nursing student at Rivier University with a GPA of 3.7. I anticipate to graduate with a BSN in 2025. I work in an operating room as a perioperative support technician (as well as two work-study jobs) in between classes but am ecstatic to experience a variety of nursing specialties during my clinical rotations.
I have previous work experience as a veterinary assistant and pharmacy technician, where I obtained skills to become easily approachable, always first to volunteer in projects, and adaptable to evolving circumstances. When the COVID-19 pandemic initially swept and resulted in a shortage of nurses, I instinctually desired to become a Registered Nurse. Ultimately, my goal is to enter a graduate program to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist after working in a high-acuity intensive care unit for a few years after obtaining my BSN.
My aim is to inspire nurses and healthcare providers alike to flourish into the best versions of themselves in order to cultivate lasting effects on patients. I aspire to become a devoted nurse by creating a positive impact on my patients' lives, upholding integrity to my duties, and providing innovation within the healthcare field.

If everyone in the world read Meditations by Stoic philosopher Marcus Aurelius (translated by Gregory Hays), societies would be nearly unrecognizably molded into entirely different structures for the best. This book possesses the capacity to provide people with a higher-level psychological tool set necessary to cultivate interpersonal relations, ethical decision-making, and resilience.
As a full-time student nurse working in an operating room (sometimes even on-call), I balance a tumultuous schedule with racing deadlines but I have gained skills to persevere from Meditations. The title "Meditations" does not imply serenity and relaxation but rather reflection and pondering as this book was Marcus Aurelius's personal journal for self-guidance and awareness. When we click and scroll through the news channels and apps, fear-mongering and peril are the predominant content rather than stories of victory and triumph. This instance does not reflect the fact that these triumphs are, in fact, occurring but the hazy pollution of scandals hinders us from envisioning optimism. With the knowledge I have been equipped with from this book I have adopted the philosophy that it is vital to acknowledge the situation holistically, devote myself to helping those in need, and refuse to allow the situation to dictate my thought process.
The quote from the book I resonate most with is, "Do what nature demands . . . Don't worry whether anyone will give you credit for it. And don't go expecting Plato's Republic; be satisfied with even the smallest progress..." which I interpret that beneficence should be a default standard. It should not be a rarity that deserves a standing ovation as making a difference in other people's lives, no matter how small, should be the bare minimum expectation to coexist in society. Through reading Aurelius's reflections, people would be more determined and prepared to flourish both together and individually.
