Bio

Hey you guys!! I'm Sejal, a rising senior aspiring to attend UT at Austin and become a Software Engineer. Though my second option would be A&M, where I have already been accepted for general engineering (controversial, I know)! As the daughter of first-generation immigrants from Nepal, I’ve grown up surrounded by culture, expectation, and ambition — an environment that shaped both my resilience and curiosity. I learned early how powerful opportunity and education can be, which fuels my drive to create technology that opens doors for others, and as a woman pursuing engineering, I value representation and hope to contribute to a more inclusive future in tech. A little bit about me is that in my free time, I am a woman of many cards. I like to publish poetry, paint, organize, go to the gym, or sometimes run, play with my Guinea Pig, listen to music, and hang out with my friends!! As far as computer science experience, I have taken AP Computer Science (but honestly, Java is not for me) and enrolled in and completed Girls Who Code (GWC) courses (Summer Immersion, Summer Pathways, and Fall Pathways)! I am interested in learning Web Development and AI, and see where that'll take me! I have 12+ extracurriculars, so if you would like to know more about me, please take a look through my LinkedIn ( www.linkedin.com/in/sejal-amatya ) and message me for an in-depth resume!
