My most important goal is to achieve a bachelor's in software engineering at University of Pittsburgh. Its one of my most passionate possessions and lifelong goal of mine. I feel like myself. I study hard and work hard for what I want. I've witnessed myself the hardship of reality. In order to get what you want you must fight for it. It doesn't come easy, but I am still here. Each year gets harder and as a responsible adult on his own I must figure out new ways to become financially stable for the degree I want at a out of state college. Having no moral support, it gets hard and nobody to look upon, but I don't want to give up yet. My place is at University of Pittsburgh. That is my comfortability, and I will fight for my education as a 1st generation college student, and a college sophomore. I will make the impossible, possible. This is my life and I wouldn't trade anything in the world for my place and a future alumni at Pitt. I want to be able to make auntie proud as she watches over me. I want to be able to tell her one day that I made this happen like I said I would. I have already sacrificed so much and fought so hard there is no means of me leaving this college.

Students Impacted by Incarceration Scholarship
I have witnessed incarceration by having my parents in and out of jail at a very young age. Growing up I had to have my grandpa watch over me and my sister every so often due to one parent being confined while the other was working to afford the cost of living. Overall it has affected my family's lives and even myself. my learning capabilities growing up weren't developed efficiently and I felt like having nobody to look upon or even seek guidance from my mother and father affected my academics and even mental state considering the position my parents were in. It even affected both my parents to maintain stability financially. Doing everything in their power to take care of me and my sister. regardless of the record my parents had, they still pushed themselves to live comfortable lives. During the duration of my parent's cycle of accumulated imprisonment. I matured quickly in high school. My father always told me how much he wanted to be there in my life he's still proud of the person I was about to become. Even when I couldn't talk to him much it still encouraged me to further my education in college as a first-generation student. I've experienced being on my own with no reassurance and only self-accountability. I held myself responsible for all my actions. I even had a motive I stuck with during my four years of high school. I constantly reminded myself where I started and what I was going to achieve for my parents. While it is still a goal of mine to achieve. I want to be able to acquire excellence in college to support my mother and father. During my junior high, I was heavily invested in majoring in computer engineering. I do have a little bit of a background in this while I was in high school. It was always something I wanted to do. Currently I am a college 1st year at University of Pittsburgh and I plan to continue my education here to better myself and my family.
