I am passionate about pursuing a technology degree because I am deeply interested in how science and technology can be used to better understand and improve human health at the cellular level. In my biotechnology laboratory technician program, I have gained hands-on experience with foundational laboratory skills such as pipetting, lab safety procedures, and the use of PCR equipment. These experiences have helped me see how technology is directly applied in scientific research and have strengthened my interest in working in a laboratory-based career. What draws me most to this field is the connection between technology and medicine. I am especially interested in regenerative medicine and stem cell research because of their potential to repair or replace damaged tissues and treat diseases that currently have limited treatment options. The idea that scientific research and technology can work together to restore function in the human body motivates me to continue building my skills and education in this area. I find it meaningful that laboratory work can eventually lead to real-world medical advancements that improve patient outcomes. My interest in science also comes from curiosity about how the human body functions at a cellular level and how it can be repaired when something goes wrong. Through my coursework, I have started to understand how laboratory techniques are used to study living systems and answer biological questions. This has made science feel more practical and hands-on, and it has encouraged me to continue pursuing opportunities to gain more experience in a laboratory setting. If I receive this scholarship, I plan to continue my education by transferring to the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee to pursue a degree in Biological Sciences. My goal is to further build my foundation in biotechnology and gain more advanced knowledge and research experience in the field. I also plan to continue seeking internships and laboratory opportunities to strengthen my technical skills and prepare for a career in scientific research. In ten years, I hope to be working in a laboratory or research environment, contributing to advancements in biotechnology, regenerative medicine, or stem cell research. I want to be part of work that helps develop new treatments and improves the quality of life for patients. Whether in an academic, clinical, or industry setting, my goal is to contribute to scientific progress that has a real impact on healthcare. Beyond my career goals, I also hope to have built a stable future that allows me to support my child and me while continuing to grow professionally in the scientific field. Receiving this scholarship would help reduce financial pressure and allow me to focus more fully on my education and hands-on training, bringing me closer to achieving both my academic and long-term career goals.
