Bio

Hello! My name is Scarlett Athan. I'm from Encinitas, California and my true purpose is helping others by understanding mental health. In my free time, I love reading, yoga, and my family and friends. I work part-time as at the front desk at Breath Degrees where I have learned the importance of connecting with others; the best way to learn outside of an educational institution is to socialize with and learn from those around you. I have a small tutoring business where I help kids from 7th-12th grade study math. My goal is to inspire them and help them find math interesting. I find purpose and belonging at any Interpersonal activity or event! I am a part of a mental health resource center at my school called PALs. Through PALs I am able to connect with students on campus and actively initiate positive change through events, connection to resources, and one on one counseling with students. because of PALs, I found my passion for re-humanizing the mental health industry through the foundations of Neuroscience and biology. Aside from school, I am on a nationally competitive dance team, Fusion Dance Solana Beach, and from this, I have learned determination, grit, and passion. I am also a part of my school's dance team. This team gives me the opportunity to show school spirit at assemblies, choreograph expressive dances for our annual showcase, and take on responsibilities as a senior on the team! I am truly excited to see what my future schooling has in store for me; I know I will succeed because I absolutely love neuroscience and helping others who need support beside them.
