Hi everyone my name is Scarlett Espinosa. I am the oldest sibling of three. My siblings are 12 years old and 6 years old. My mother has always been there for me and supported me so now it is time for me to support her. I am a student athlete. I am currently enrolled at the University of Mount olive in North Carolina. I am on the women's soccer team. My major is in psychology and minor in criminal justice. I aspire to be a childrens, sports, or criminal psychologist. The end goal is to be able to help individuals dealing with abnormal disorders and raise awareness of the importance of mental health. In order to reduce the stigma society implied of mental illness being a weakness or “just for show”, one must take action and feel supported. Just how you go get checked at the doctors when you physically don’t feel well, one should be comfortable to go to a licensed professional and get help when they feel mentally and emotionally unhealthy. You are not alone and it is okay to ask for help. We got this!
