Growing up in Santiago, Chile, I had the privilege of being raised by two hardworking parents who have devoted their lives to both their family and careers as accountants. Watching them balance their professional responsibilities with love and dedication at home inspired me from an early age to pursue my own goals with the same discipline and passion. Their example has been a guiding force throughout my academic journey and is a key reason why I have chosen to continue my education beyond my undergraduate degree. I am currently a senior at Bluefield State University, working toward my undergraduate degree in accounting. As I prepare to graduate, I am also planning to begin my next chapter by pursuing a MBA. This decision stems from a desire to expand my understanding of the business world and strengthen the leadership skills necessary to bring my long-term vision to life. I hope to one day open and manage a sports complex where athletes of all ages and backgrounds can come together to train, grow, and thrive not only as athletes but as individuals. I believe that continuing my education with an MBA will give me the tools to make this dream a reality. While my academic background is firmly rooted in accounting, I have come to understand that true leadership requires more than technical expertise. It demands a broader knowledge of business operations, human dynamics, and strategic thinking. I am especially drawn to the MBA program at Bluefield State University because it offers a comprehensive curriculum that aligns closely with my goals. I want to learn how organizations function holistically, how to manage diverse teams, and how innovation can drive sustainable success. My undergraduate experience at Bluefield State has played a significant role in shaping who I am today. After starting my studies at Upstate University in South Carolina, I transferred to Bluefield in my sophomore year. The past three years here have been transformative. I’ve learned from passionate professors, developed close relationships with mentors, and immersed myself in a supportive academic community. The quality of education I’ve received through the Business program has been exceptional and has made my decision to continue my graduate studies at Bluefield an easy one. Outside the classroom, I’ve taken on leadership roles that have pushed me to grow personally and professionally. As captain of the women’s soccer team for the past two years, I’ve learned how to lead with empathy, foster inclusivity, and communicate effectively. I’ve also participated in the Glo-bus project, a global business simulation focused on strategic decision-making, and developed an AI-based mobile app concept for athletic rehabilitation in a class project. These experiences have fueled my passion for blending innovation, technology, and sports into my career path. Additionally, I had the privilege of participating in a service-learning tax course where I helped community members file their tax returns. This hands-on experience not only deepened my technical knowledge but reinforced my desire to use business skills to make a positive impact in people’s lives. With strong analytical abilities, practical knowledge of tools like Excel, and a commitment to clear and empathetic communication, I feel well-prepared to take on the challenges of an MBA program. My goal is not only to lead a successful business but to build something that benefits the community and creates lasting value. This scholarship will help support my journey as I strive to turn my passion into purpose. I am excited about the opportunity to further my education, grow as a leader, and ultimately, give back through the power of business and sports.
