Being born and raised in the great city of San Antonio, Texas has inspired me to extend my cultural knowledge of states around me. The cultural identity of Texas is widely known throughout the country to the point in which we are seen as strong and independent people.... except for when snow is involved. My goals after furthering my education is to continue to enjoy the world and to offer my knowledge when it is needed. Being inside the business sector will make it possible for other aspiring Hispanic women to continue their dreams of becoming as successful as they would like.

"What Moves You" Scholarship
Education according to Hannah Arendt is a resemblance of how much a person loves the world to continue the due process of life. With Hannah Arendt being an influential political figure, Arendt moved people's lives including mine. In my opinion, education means that there is an understanding that not everything is known and there is still plenty of things to be learned and taught. Education has a way of moving certain students into wanting to become teachers and others wanting to “change the world” in different styles. Arendt comments that education should be executed if “We love the world enough to assume responsibility” and is determined to share that it should only be carried out if the person is ready for a spectacular downfall of education. The educational realm should not be treated as something that could easily be a pass or fail situation. In my life I have only encountered one teacher who truly resembles the idea that education can be for all people to almost completely understand themselves. Mr.Chavez was my College Algebra and Pre-Calculus teacher during my high school years. On a day-to-day basis, he ensured his students that he would help us to understand topics even outside of the curriculum. At times class would be moving along and a student would have a serious life topic question and Mr.Chavez would answer to the best of his abilities and continue his research after class to give a thorough answer. This is the “token” that Arendt brings up in her quote. One person cannot change the world on their own, but having a certain level of knowledge and choosing to exchange information with countless others is what can impact society the most. Alongside having peers and mentors to guide someone on a path of realization to help others, Arendt leads me to believe that she expects people to forget the past in order to gain “renewal” and prepare for the “coming of the new and young”. However, a person's experiences are what shapes them to be who they are and how they are capable of handling tough situations. Political and educational persons should be capable of preparing for the worst and being able to have multiple plans set in case one fails; all in the span of a second. Although I agree with most aspects of the Arendt quote, I believe more in the quote, “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Remember you have within yourself the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change to the world” from the mind of Harriet Tubman. Tubman's words have the same concept of having the capability to change the world with one’s own passions and continue with the actions they feel make them strong enough to continue. Although Arendt has similar ideas, the concept of having to “assume responsibility” makes the idea of educating people seem as a task instead of a longing for a lifetime of an enjoyable experience that Tubman explains.
