Hello! My name is Savanna Gumowski, a senior at Valley Vista High School. Softball has been a part of most of my life, starting at the age of 7-years old. Although it hasn't been easy with my heart-defect, I always keep pushing myself to achieve being not the best player but my best player. If people were to describe me in three words, those three words would be kind-hearted, compassionate, and selfless. On the softball field, I shine with skill and teamwork, showing my passion for the sport. Off the field, I have a special gift for connecting with children, with lots of patience and understanding. I hope that my selflessness and generosity inspire those around me, and make a positive impact for everyone. With a warm smile and caring spirit, I can bring joy and enthusiasm to everything I do. Ever since starting softball, I always had an eagerness in me to become a coach one day. Through my experiences, I have observed and learned from other coaches what makes a great coach. I have taken notes on the qualities that made the best coaches effective, and my commitment to building those strengths while avoiding the weaknesses. My goal is to create a positive, supportive team culture that brings the best into my players. I am willing to put the hard work in with the dedication, perseverance, and drive to become a coach who makes a lasting impact on my players. Now, I am a student-athlete with a GPA of 3.95, has a part-time job, and not just playing travel ball, but been on my varsity high school softball team since freshman year. Today, I am excited to share that I have committed to playing softball at Crown College, where I plan to major in psychology. Crown College is a small, private Christian school that has a mission to provide a Biblically-based education for Christian leadership. This is the college I always dreamed of being a part of, and it is even more exciting to play on their softball team. If people were to describe me in one word, it would be determined. No matter what I am doing or the situation I am in, I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goals. By awarding me this scholarship, you are empowering a determined, compassionate, and driven individual to achieve their goals and contribute to the betterment of society. I am committed to upholding the values of integrity, perseverance, and service, ensuring your trust in me is well-placed. Thank you for considering my application and for helping students like me turn aspirations into achievements.

Hello! My name is Savanna Gumowski, a senior at Valley Vista High School. I am excited to share that I have committed to playing softball at Crown College, where I plan to major in psychology. If people were to describe me in one word, it would be determined. No matter what I am doing or the situation I am in, I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goals. That is why I am more determined to receive this scholarship so that way I can use it towards my tuition. My idea to utilize this scholarship to further my education at Crown College is to use it towards my tuition. Crown College is a small, private Christian school that has a mission to provide a Biblically-based education for Christian leadership. This is the college I always dreamed of being a part of, and it is even more exciting to play on their softball team. Although the tuition is very expensive, and a price range I never thought of paying for, I am getting a $15,000 academic scholarship per year from Crown College. It is exciting to get this scholarship, but it won’t cover the rest of this tuition. As a psychology major at Crown College, my academic journey is fueled by a deep passion for understanding the complexities of human behavior and applying this knowledge to create meaningful change in the lives of others. Receiving this scholarship would not only alleviate the financial burden of tuition but also enable me to fully focus on my studies and extracurricular commitments, ensuring I can make the most of my education. I have consistently demonstrated academic dedication and resilience, maintaining a strong GPA while balancing part-time work and volunteer commitments. My experiences working with underserved populations have deepened my resolve to become a clinical psychologist and advocate for mental health accessibility. I envision a career where I can support individuals grappling with challenges such as trauma, anxiety, and depression, fostering hope and healing within communities that often lack sufficient resources. This scholarship represents more than financial assistance; it symbolizes an investment in my potential to make a difference. With this support, I can pursue opportunities like internships, research projects, and community outreach initiatives that will enhance my skills and broaden my impact.
