I am the second oldest of six kids and have family in Mexico. I am attending school at Shoreland Lutheran HS and plan on going to Carthage College for my future education. I believe there are many ways to increase engagement within learning would be choice, having to choose what you learn is a way that can increase engagement. I believe if student were able to choose to e subject that they are being taught then many student wouldn’t yearn to go home. A way a creative innovation has influenced me would the culture of a Lutheran school which bettered my religious beliefs and my relationships. Within my career I would say that Christianity will be a part of it. An experience that is in my school would be the trades program, a program that I haven’t seen in other schools and the people that I know that are in that program have taken apprenticeship while still high school. The public schools that I know of don’t really care about there students l, like they are “destined for failure”, I believe that I am lucky to experience a school like Shoreland because of how the teachers care for their students. As for how my aspirations are influenced by my faith and the Hispanic culture. It is influenced by my culture by having the idea of employing ethnic diversity within the business community I plan to make. To change the subject I do believe that my school could use more creativity because of the many students that tend to want rather work than attend school. The environment at our school has a great impact on me because I believe that if I went to a public school, I would have not wanted to go to college and would’ve not learned anything remotely related to creating or working in a business environment. Thanks to the environment I am able to creatively work and think to the point where I got excepted to a good college where I can further my education. I also believe that every school could use some innovative approach to their education system by having students have little motive to be focused on, this is a situation at my school. Having teachers be more involved with students then reading of textbooks and or past documents. If student can go through change then I believe that teachers should as well. Have the teachers influence and encourage to the point where students look back at their school and don’t think of it as 4 years of tiredness, discipline, unfit for the world ahead but instead think of high school as a building block to where they are proud of their school and have only good memories.
