One time I overcame an adversary was when I was in middle school, 6th grade, when I got to the United States for the first time. I didn't know English at all at that time. It was pretty hard for me because I had students making fun of me, teachers not wanting to help, etc. Middle school was very tough for me, but it also showed me and made me learn a lot of things, which helped me become the man that I am now. I only had my mom at that time and my younger sister since I'm the oldest, and I had to figure things out on my own. I started to watch YouTube videos; one of my uncles bought me Rosetta Stone, which I was studying every day. And with the help of God, by 7th grade I was already talking in English, helping my mom with whatever she needed, and I just felt so much better. That was definitely one of the toughest moments in my life for sure. I always thank God for helping me and guiding me every day through my journey and in life.
