My name is Satish Kharel, I'm 21 years old and the son of a single mother. I'm from Nepal and moved to the US about 9 years ago, I recently lost my father to COVID-19 and since then, it's just been my mom and I. Having only recently lost my father, it's made things tough on my mom as she is the only one working at the moment, and in order to help her, I've had to make so quick decisions in my careers. I'm still going to Purdue Global University to get my IT degree, but now I'm also pursuing a career in Real Estate in hopes of getting a job that pays well. My mom being 50 years old, she has started to develop heatlh issues that prevent her from working too much, but she still works nonetheless for me and I want to inturn help her by getting a good job and have her retire. I have a few plans for my future and those are to keep purusing my secondary career in Real Estate to hopefully have my own real estate agency in the future. The other is to keep studying and get a degree and pursue a career in IT Game Development, as that is the field that I am concentrating on the most. As part of that, I also want to try opening up my own Game Studio to build and publish games of my own design and for that to happen, I'll need a lot of time and a lot of money. My goal is to design a game that will have great success, both financially and in popularity. If only one of my game creations in successful, then it will pave a path for me to work and create more games to build on my studio, bringing in more people and talent to the studio. To summarize, I'm am the son of a single mother who is trying her best to keep it together and I want to be there for my mother as much as possible when she needs me. Thus, I'm studying to get a degree in the IT field at Purdue Global with hopes of getting a job in the Game Industry once I do graduate. Furthermore, I'm also working to get a Real Estate License to get a job as quickly as possible to help support my mom in tough times.

All my life my family and friends have surrounded me. They have always been there with me every step of the way and have helped me come as far as I have. Having come from a small country in Southeast Asia called Nepal, living life in the US is a bit difficult as it can be challenging to find the jobs that you are looking for. I am currently facing the same problem of having no job, only recently have I been able to work. But that hasn't been enough to help me pay for my college tuition and even with the help of loans and Financial Aid, it has been difficult to cover all of my payments. I hope to finish college within the next four years and go on to find a job in my field of study. I eventually want to gain enough experience and knowledge to start my own Game Development Studio and start producing games for the next generation of people to enjoy. And these scholarships will help me pay for my college tuition and propel me forward to do just that.
