Anthony Belliamy Memorial Scholarship for Students in STEAM
I was born and raised in Venezuela, a country full of culture, resilience, and creativity. Those roots have shaped me into someone who values family, hard work, and the ability to find beauty even in hardship. But they have also meant facing challenges that tested me in ways I could not have imagined. One of the greatest challenges in my life has been balancing the responsibilities of raising my two sons while building a career in a demanding and evolving field. It is a challenge that tested my perseverance, but ultimately strengthened my identity and clarified my career goals.
As a stay-at-home mom, my daily life revolved around caring for my children, Alan and Pablo. I was filled with joy to be present for them, but I also knew that I carried dreams of pursuing higher education and professional growth. Many times, I felt torn between dedicating myself to my children’s needs and pushing forward with my own ambitions. It was easy to compare myself to others who seemed free to focus solely on their education or careers without the same responsibilities at home. At times, the weight of my situation felt overwhelming.
What helped me move forward was a shift in perspective. Instead of seeing motherhood as something that held me back, I chose to see it as a source of strength and inspiration. Raising two boys while pursuing my passions forced me to become more resilient, patient, and adaptable. I learned to manage my time with strict routines, study during late nights, and create opportunities where none seemed to exist. My children became the reason I pushed harder, not an obstacle in my way, but my motivation to succeed.
This resilience carried over into my professional journey. As an AI engineer, digital AI artist, and art curator, I combine technology and creativity to explore new ways of expressing ideas. Even while being at home, I built projects that merge art and artificial intelligence, and I curated exhibitions that opened doors for others to experience these innovations. One of the projects I am most proud of is Artvise AI, which allows people to engage with digital art and demonstrates how creativity and technology can work together.
My love for art is rooted in human connection, but my love for nature grounds me. Hiking in the mountains has always been my way of reconnecting with myself, finding peace, and drawing inspiration. Nature reminds me that challenges are part of growth, the climb may be steep, but the view at the top is worth it. That same philosophy has guided me in life: every obstacle is an opportunity to grow stronger, more creative, and more determined.
Coming from Venezuela also instilled in me a deep sense of resilience. In a country where opportunities can be limited, I learned how to adapt, how to create my own path, and how to build something meaningful even with limited resources. That spirit stayed with me as I transitioned to new environments and built my career abroad. It is also why I want to use my skills in AI and art not only for personal success but also to empower others, especially people who may feel their dreams are constrained by circumstances.
This challenge, balancing motherhood, cultural transitions, and professional growth has deeply shaped my career goals. I want to build tools and creative spaces where technology and art intersect to inspire others, provide opportunities, and open doors for people who, like me, have had to fight for every step forward. I want my work to reflect resilience, creativity, and hope.
Winning this scholarship would not only support my education financially; it would also affirm the journey that brought me here. It would allow me to continue pursuing my vision of merging technology, art, and human experience in a way that uplifts communities and creates new possibilities.
My greatest challenge, being a stay-at-home mom while building a career became my greatest strength. It shaped me into someone who refuses to give up, who carries her Venezuelan roots proudly, and who believes that creativity and perseverance can change lives. That is the spirit I will bring into my career and into every opportunity that lies ahead.
Baby OG: Next Gen Female Visionary Scholarship
I am a passionate AI engineer student, digital AI artist, and art curator who thrives at the intersection of technology and creativity. I have a deep love for nature and inspired by the beauty of the mountains and hiking adventures, I channel my curiosity and innovation into projects that empower artists and communities. I care deeply about inclusion, particularly elevating women in technology, and I’m driven by a mission to inspire creativity and break barriers through AI and art.
As a woman in tech, I’ve seen firsthand how underrepresentation limits diverse perspectives and innovation. This matters to me personally because I believe true progress depends on inclusivity and empowering women to own their space in STEM fields, helping reshape cultural narratives and opportunities for future generations.
I would create accessible platforms like the Women in Tech Museum and Showcases that celebrate female innovators’ stories and provide mentorship and resources. Combining immersive digital experiences with community engagement, I’d foster connections between aspiring women and industry leaders, while developing AI-driven tools that lower barriers to entry. My vision is a world where every woman sees herself as a changemaker and has the support to thrive.
My fascination with AI’s creative potential led me to study AI engineering, coupled with my passion for digital art. I was inspired by the idea that technology can amplify human creativity and serve as a bridge between diverse disciplines. I aim to use my skills to build innovative tools and platforms that empower artists, especially women, and help communities express themselves and connect in new, transformative ways.
Within five years, I want to establish a recognized digital arts collective and mentorship network for women in AI and creative tech fields. To achieve this, I will continue expanding my technical expertise, build partnerships with organizations like the Women in Tech Museum, and actively contribute to community events and showcases. I’ll also focus on producing projects that demonstrate AI’s potential to elevate artistic voices.
Education has been a vital journey of self discovery and empowerment. Through both formal studies and hands on projects, I’ve realized my unique role as a bridge between technology and art. Learning about AI and digital creation has sharpened my problem solving skills and deepened my commitment to using tech ethically and inclusively. It’s strengthened my belief that creativity and innovation thrive when fueled by purpose.
Being a woman in a male dominated tech field has taught me resilience, courage, and the importance of community. While I’ve faced challenges, moments where my voice felt overlooked, these experiences have also ignited my determination to support other women and advocate for equity. It has made me more empathetic, driven, and passionate about creating spaces where diverse voices are celebrated.
Leadership, to me, is about inspiring others through action, empathy, and vision, regardless of title. I embody leadership by mentoring peers, collaborating openly on creative projects, and helping organize Women in Tech showcases that spotlight emerging female talent. I believe leadership means creating opportunities for others to succeed and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels empowered to contribute.
During the development of an interactive AI art project, I faced significant technical and creative obstacles, including limited resources and tight deadlines. By leveraging open source tools, learning new coding frameworks independently, and seeking advice from mentors, I adapted quickly and successfully delivered the project. This experience taught me the power of perseverance, creativity in problem solving, and the value of community support.
Receiving this scholarship would be a crucial stepping stone in pursuing my dreams by allowing me to fully focus on completing my bachelor’s degree without financial stress. It would help me pay for my final semester, giving me the peace of mind to dedicate my energy to advancing my skills, creating innovative AI-art projects, and expanding initiatives like the Women in Tech Showcases. With this support, I can move forward confidently toward building inclusive spaces that empower women and artists through technology.
Chadwick D. McNab Memorial Scholarship
It all started with a single sketch on my phone, something abstract, something mine. I didn’t know it then, but that digital artwork would spark an idea that would grow into a full scale interactive experience powered by AI. That idea became Artvise AI, my Student Innovation Project, and the first time I realized just how much I could blend my creativity with technology to create something meaningful.
Artvise AI began with a simple question: How can we use artificial intelligence to make art more supportive, secure, and accessible for all artists? As someone majoring in Artificial Intelligence and pursuing a future degree in Software Engineering, I wanted to build something that wasn’t just technical, but human. Something that could connect with artists, protect their work, and help them grow in their creative practice.
What sets Artvise AI apart is its focus on empowering artists through artificial intelligence while prioritizing privacy and security. Instead of relying on cloud based systems, Artvise AI runs offline, giving artists full control over their creative data. They can upload their artwork, receive AI-generated feedback on how to improve their technique and get ratings, all without the fear of their work being shared or misused online. The platform acts as a personal creative assistant, offering suggestions and support in a safe, local environment. This approach not only provides peace of mind but also encourages more artists, especially those new to AI tools, to explore technology as a trusted partner in their creative journey. In a digital world where privacy is often overlooked, Artvise AI stands out by protecting artists and their work while helping them grow with confidence.
Working on Artvise AI taught me more than any classroom assignment ever could. I learned how to design intuitive user experiences, implement complex logic, and troubleshoot problems through research and testing. But more importantly, I learned how technology can serve people when it’s built with empathy and intention. I realized that building software isn’t just about solving technical problems, it’s about understanding human needs.
That’s why I’m so passionate about continuing in this field. Technology isn’t just about building apps or writing code, it’s about solving real problems, connecting people, and creating tools that can uplift and educate. As I move forward in my studies and career, I want to keep building platforms like Artvise AI, tools that empower users, spark creativity, and make learning more accessible for all.
Through this project, I discovered that the intersection of art and AI is not just a cool idea, it’s a space filled with potential, and I’m excited to keep exploring it. My journey in tech is just beginning, but Artvise AI was the perfect first chapter.
