Bio

I am a very determined and responsible person. I accept and overcome all the challenges that life throws in my way. I always strive to be the best at everything that I do. Thus, my goal is to be the best doctor and the best father I could be. I am very passionate about helping those who need it the most, which is why I do so much volunteer work. I am a great candidate because I am devoted to helping to improve our world. Little by little, starting now, I believe that everyone can make a change because small actions add up to create big changes. I love to not only be the one who makes a change but also to lead others on how to make a change.

    Recent Immigrant Scholarship
Immigration is the survival of the fittest. Not everyone is brave enough to get out of his/her comfort zone to look for a better future, but I was. Leaving the country where you grew up and arriving at a place where you do not know anything is scary, but those who are resilient enough to overcome those challenges are able to enjoy the benefits of immigration. In my case, several political and economic reasons pushed my family to migrate, and the opportunities that I have now are something that I could not have had in my country. Thus, my immigration experience is unique because of my background, attitude, and opportunities. To begin with, I was born in Valencia, Venezuela, and lived there until 3 years ago, when me and my family moved to the United States. As a little kid, I remember growing up in a country where even though life was not the best, it was still very good. However, around 6 years ago, I began to notice how the situation in Venezuela was becoming exponentially worse. There was no food to buy in the supermarkets, there were not enough teachers in the schools, there was too much danger in the streets, and there was no hope for the situation to improve in the country. As that occurred, the economy progressively crumbled, and my family knew that in order for me to have a future, we needed to move to another country. My parents contacted a lawyer here in the United States, and once the paperwork was done, we moved to Florida. Leaving everything behind to start from scratch was a huge challenge, especially because I did not speak English. Moreover, an optimistic attitude is what pushed me to overcome the challenges of immigration. Instead of letting my emotions set me back, I decided to learn English quickly, which allowed me to discover the infinite amount of opportunities that the United States has to offer for young people like me. I have learned that this country provides a lot of scholarships and guidance for immigrants, which is why I am optimistic about living and working in the United States. I already have in mind my career path (medicine), and I know that this country is where I will have the chance to receive the best possible education and then find the best possible job. I am optimistic about living and working here because I know that just like I am doing now, my children will have the chance to grow up in a safe environment full of opportunities. Having a good vision of the future is essential for immigrants to be successful. Furthermore, the United States is, by far, a place with more opportunities than Venezuela. In my home country, there is no possibility to study at a prestigious college or university, and all careers can be more than one year longer than normal because of a lack of professors. On the other hand, there are many possibilities to study at the most prestigious colleges and universities here in the United States, and careers have a specific length that does not vary depending on how available professors are. Additionally, I could not even walk in the streets of my country because there was a very high risk of getting robbed, or even killed. Here, I can walk around and do many things without that fear that I used to have in my home country. While I do love the people that I grew up with in Venezuela, the United States is the country that provides me with the opportunity to have a bright future. In brief, several hardships pushed me and my family to move from Venezuela to the United States 3 years ago. Coming to a place where everything was unknown represented a challenge, but through a lot of effort I was able to overcome every barrier. I am optimistic about living and working here in the United States because it is where me and my future children will have the chance to grow up in a safe environment full of opportunities that do not exist in Venezuela. Undoubtedly, I am proud of being a successful Venezuelan immigrant in the United States.
