If I'm being real, my biggest impact in the community comes from how I treat others. I always try to show kindness, whether it's through small things like checking in on someone, helping a classmate, or just being someone people feel safe around, I've been through a lot in my life- emotionally, mentally, and physically-and while it wasn't easy, it helped shape who I am today. Those hard times taught me how to understand people better, how to be there for them, and how to speak up when it matters.
Because of my own experiences, I feel like I can connect with others who may be struggling. In school, I'm that friend people come to when they're having a rough day. I listen without judging and try to give good advice when I can. I've seen how bullying-especially online-can really mess with someone's confidence. So when I see it happening, I don't stay quiet. Whether it's reporting it, calling it out, or just checking in on the person being hurt, I try to make a difference. I also use my social media to spread positive energy and remind people to treat each other better.
Even outside of school, I try to help where I can. I've been involved in a few local events and community cleanups, and I also babysit for family members and mentoring kids who need it the most. I love giving back because I know what it feels like to need support and not always have it.
As I get ready for college, I know I'll need financial help to get there. My family does what they can, but things are tight. College is a big step for me, not just for my future career, but for everything i've worked so hard for. I want to study Public Health or something related to Pediatric Travel Nursing, because I want to be the person I needed when I was younger. I want to help kids and teens who need the medical help, through rough times and give them my support-whether its medically, emotionally, or just someone to talk to.
This scholarship would mean more than just money for school-it would be a chance to keep pushing forward and chasing my dreams. I've came a long way, and I'm proud of how far I've made it. With this opportunity, I'll be able to focus on my education and one day turn everything I've been through into something positive-not just for me, but for the people I'll help in the future.
