Ever since I was younger, more specifically, with the help of my mom to deliver kittens from a stray cat we had taken in, I had always been interested in animals and wildlife. So now, I am a first year at Colorado State University studying Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology with a minor in Zoology. After I graduate, I plan on studying animals in some way, whether it be in a lab or in the field. I also hope to educate whoever I can on animals and ways of helping them so they won't go extinct. Those are my dream goals I am trying to reach.

A Dog Changed My Life Scholarship
Growing up, I was always around dogs. It wasn't until my 8th grade year when we got a new puppy that I claimed as mine. She was very energetic and loved playing and staying outdoors. She quickly became my best friend. I trained her to do tricks and listening skills and that furthered my interest of working with animals when I got older. She was always there for me when I was going through rough times, and was my comfort.
A couple years later when I got into a car accident, it's almost like she sensed something was wrong when I got home late from the hospital. She didn't jump at me to get me to pet her like she usually did. She was careful and patient and sat there while I was petting her, something she doesn't usually do. I knew from then that we had this great connection and were able to understand one another to an extent.
Bold Books Scholarship
So far, I believe one of the most inspiring books I have read was 'It Ends With Us', because of the message it relays to its readers. The message of the book, and what the author is telling us, is that it's okay to leave an abusive relationship behind. It's okay to take care of yourself first. Some of the stories events, although not all, were actually based on her family and their experience. Which made it all the more sadness that I felt while reading some of it. It also helped to show some of the signs of mental abuse as well as physical for those who might be in similar situations.
Mikey Taylor Memorial Scholarship
I have always struggled with anxiety, even when hanging out with friends I'll get very nervous and its been hard. A very hard decision I had made with college, was going almost across country to a big university. It was definitely a struggle, because I have never done good with big crowds. But moving here had helped me, since I am away from family and friends I have know for years. In the beginning I was alone and scared to go out of the though of people judging me. At one point I had wanted to get a job so I could pay for my college, and I made a few friends there which have help me a great deal. Although starting new classes, bigger lectures, still stress me out.
McCutcheon | Nikitin First-Generation Scholarship
Parts of the world are very different from each other, even from high school to college. Going into college as a first generation and having no idea what to expect, it was very different then what I've seen or have read. When you go to a big university, you'll have people from all over the country and maybe some international students, so I haven't realized how many different opinions there could be on a certain subject, or how my home town will have a certain store that I though was national, but turns out to only be in my state. I have now understood better that even many parts of the United States could be different.
Terry Crews "Creative Courage" Scholarship
I've always lived photography and art and paintings. More specifically ones that capture and express what words cannot. I live seeing the scenery and animals as well. I'm currently going to school for Wildlife Biology, and I'm hopping to get work in the field and to be able to take amazing shots of animals and the scenery, or even get a job doing so.
The picture I have provided, I would say is a little hard to decide if it's a painting of sorts, or even photography. I just lived the mystery of taking the photo and when showing it to people, having them decide which one it could be. It's actually a photo I had taken while in an airplane, coming back to college, of the clouds while the sun was going down. The sun was at the perfect angle to have the rays bounce of and the shadows to give that perfect illusion.
