The season of colored falling leaves, (9) Never has been so lovely for me. (9) The distance between us, our love hopelessly grieves. (10 Boston to Florida, you are what I want to see. (12) Maybe let’s lay; maybe stay here forever? (10) My favorite girl; the one I’d run away for days with her. She’s sunshine, bathing me in her warmth and light; a connection I will never want to sever. With a love like hers, she leaves you in a dizzying and intoxicating blur. Female Empowerment Scholarship
Even before I was born, I was diagnosed with multiple health conditions which left me, especially in my childhood, feeling isolated and alone. I could not participate in certain activities, including physical education. Due to my ongoing medical problems, I became intensely aware of others’ emotions. Empathy is a principle that I cherish within myself and other people; it allows people to connect on an emotional basis. When I was in high school, I volunteered with Frederick Parks and Recreation and donated blood and platelets at my local American Red Cross. I believe that the ability to give your time and energy towards a selfless pursuit that aids someone or a group of people is a powerful gift to possess. Helping people only allows for the blossoming of goodness which creates a more resilient and kind community.
