Growing up I was always surrounded by nurses because my older sister had a congenital heart defect. I would always see the way that those nurses would help out my sister and how they went above and beyond. Also, even though they were assigned to help my sister they always looked out for me as well and would assist me with anything I needed. They were truly people I had grown to love. These people were selfless, putting their lives at risk to make sure others were healthy and happy. This inspired me to want to follow in their footsteps so that I too could help others. I want to become a Certified Nurse Midwife to make sure that any woman that I was tasked to take care of would know that I would be looking out for them the same way my nurses looked out for me.
