Bold Know Yourself Scholarship
I have learned that keeping things organized helps me to succeed. This has become valuable because I am able to create a system for myself that helps me organize my work and give my best effort into everything I do.
An example of something I do to keep my work and schedule organized is posting sticky notes on my walls of everything I need to complete. I can organize these sticky notes like a calendar for the week. These sticky notes can include school work assignments, extracurricular club engagements and personal life accomplishments. I am able to organize how I want to get things done and be able to look at the work load for my week and balance my life around the work I need to get done. I am able to give time to things that need it and give my best efforts into everything I do.
I found this valuable because it has released me of a load of stress in my daily life. I am able to plan for things and it gives me time to schedule my week. I am very proud of this simple system becoming so beneficial in my work life. It feels nice to organize my thought done onto pieces of paper that I can easily rearrange if I need to work through some stress.
This method also allows for some positive enforcement because I am able to take down each sticky note and get the satisfaction of finishing my work and taking it off the calendar.
Ohio Information Technology Scholarship
My goal as a college students is to get a degree in Information Technology, followed by a degree in Technical Report Writing. These can equal up to a career in which I can follow a scientific team around their work and track everything that they have done into an Engineering Notebook specific for their project. I have always had an interest in the assembly process of robotics and other pieces of large technology. Being the keeper of all engineering information on a scientific team gives me the opportunity to see all of this work be done, take my creative writing skills and use them with my passion in science.
My end-all-be-all goal is to get a PhD in mathematics after a few years of being a writer. I love school and hope to be learning new information in a classroom for as long as possible. As much as my career hopes have changed from being a kid- from nature photographer, to chemist, to chemical engineer, to computer scientist, yes, they have always been STEM related- I know I have always wanted to get future education and get as much as a PhD.
I am currently a rising senior at a STEM high school. I have another season of robotics, a year of school, and graduation. After I finish these goals, I get to move onto my higher education of Applied Information Sciences and Technical Report Writing, and begin my career path as an Engineering Notebook author.
Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
My state championship winning robotics team has given me the opportunity to find what I want to do for the rest of my life. My individual role on my four-person robotics team is to track all of the scientific process into our Engineering Notebook. For the entirety of my high school career, I have followed around our builder and programmer to track all of the work they have done on our robot. I have sketched, have taken pictures, and added online-made 3D models into our notebook. I also have worked with our team strategist to put together brainstormed ideas, all that trickle down into the notebook. I include all of our versions of the robots we make. You can find our proudest accomplishments down to our worst mistakes in the notebook, because everything goes into the notebook.
I do all of this because Engineering Notebooks are some of the most key factors of any scientific project, yet most people do not know about them. Engineering Notebooks track every important detail, and have to be done by someone that is going to keep a close eye on all of the work. Notebooks are crucial because they hold all of the information done on the project. Scientific evidence is so predominant, notebooks can be held up in a court of law as sufficient evidence! When a scientist has made a historical breakthrough, the engineering notebook is an important part of proving why the scientist is creating history, because, if it was done correctly, the notebook has all of the trials, all of the ideas, all of the failures, all of the successes leading up to this breakthrough that might change the world. As you can see, the Engineering Notebook is essential.
