Amidst the turbulence of my mental health decline, I found it challenging to forge meaningful long-term friendships, leaving me feeling progressively isolated. However, through this all I have been gratefully blessed with friends who finally care for me despite my flaws. Throughout my mental health journey, my friends have been a tremendous foundation of support. They strongly pushed me to seek professional assistance, giving me with useful resources and information on therapists and helplines. Their unfailing vocal support has been a continual source of comfort and affirmation, allowing me to communicate my problems honestly and without fear of criticism. They also provided practical guidance and coping skills, sharing their own experiences and supporting me through stressful and tough times. I am eternally thankful for their presence in my life and the positive influence they have made on my health. My attention difficulties served as a compass, guiding me toward a profession that aligned perfectly with my talents and passions. Recognizing that conventional, desk-bound jobs would not suit me, I sought out dynamic and captivating industries that offered flexibility, creativity, and constant stimulation. Embracing my idiosyncrasies and unique perspective, I am choosing a path that embraces and celebrates my distinct qualities, with the hope of embarking on a fulfilling career where my abilities can truly shine. In the crushing grip of stress and the lingering weight of despair, my perspectives shifted dramatically, my relationships were tested, and my career objectives were reshaped by the furnace of adversity. I emerged from the darkness with new information, deeper relationships, and a firm determination to build a purpose-driven path forward. "Are you trans?" You seem like one of them," my classmate sneers while I walk into the room. "I think it looks good!" chimes in my friend sitting next to me, trying to stop the spreading frown on my face. Instead, I choose to sit down at my desk and ignore people around me. I felt frustrated, and not only that, I felt misunderstood. It didn't just stop there; not only was I being questioned by my classmates but also by my father, who heavily disapproved of me cutting my long black hair for a short-boyish haircut, chastening me on how my Indian culture disproves my short, choppy cut. Oftentimes, people misjudged me and thought I was someone I wasn't. Although I do identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, I would never publicly announce or even mention it, let alone cause it to define me or my actions. To be honest, it was always a struggle watching my friends be able to define themselves so easily, knowing that they were transgender or bisexual. While I continued to struggle to figure out what my feelings were and whether or not how feminine I was correlated to my position on the rainbow spectrum. Although I struggle with my identity, I am very confident in my character. As a person who is passionate about making a difference in the world, I strive to contribute to positive change through my commitment to community service. I am convinced that small acts of kindness and service can start a chain reaction, inspiring others to join in and collectively make a lasting difference. I chose business management as my major because it provides you with the skills and knowledge to start and manage your own business. You are able to establish a business that not only makes money but also addresses social or environmental issues by focusing on social entrepreneurship. You can make a positive impact on people's lives while running a successful business by developing innovative solutions and implementing sustainable practices. The LGBTQ+ community has a long history of advocacy and activism in the pursuit of legal protections, equal rights, and social acceptance. Exposure to their activism has influenced me to participate in these efforts by supporting causes related to LGBTQ+ rights and social justice in general. LGBTQ+ individuals and their stories have prompted me to consider my own sexuality as well as challenge societal expectations and norms. This examination ultimately contributed to a better understanding of myself and my emotions, fostering personal growth and self-acceptance.

It was a cold, snowy Christmas. Excitement flowed through my veins as my father called me to the foyer. Handing my brother and me a small box. As I open up the box, I see a small pink square. I looked up at my father in excitement as I recognized the device to be an iPod. This was the start of my discovery of Taylor Swift. My favorite song from the album ‘1989’ is Wildest Dreams. While most people enjoy Swift's music for its energy and driving beat, I appreciate Wildest Dreams for more than that; I appreciate the song for the memories—the hours I spent listening to the song on car rides and vacations, or the late nights when I'd lay in bed, cherishing the moments where music made me feel free. As if I were in a dream, the song evokes feelings of longing and nostalgia while delving into topics of love, desire, and fantasies. She describes the allure and enchantment of this love affair, emphasizing the intensity of their connection and the euphoria they share.
