    I Am Third Scholarship
Ever since I can remember, I wanted to change the world positively. When I was 5 years old, I try to use my parent's credit cards to adopt a child in Africa. I advocate daily for the environment, for the protection of the people around the world (immigration policies) and for my direct community. I am currently pursuing an MBA with a 3.97 GPA, while also being the President of the MBA Association, a mentor for the Monarch Global Club, and a member of the International Student Advisory Board. Outside of school, I volunteer weekly at the Norfolk Botanical Garden, and I am the campus coordinator for the VegFest 2022. Helping other students in their veganism journey is important to me because it helps protect the planet while also creating social bounds amongst communities. I can speak almost fluently five languages (French, English, Spanish, Italian, German), which I believe is paramount in a global world to better understand each others; not only with words but with cultural referents. At the beginning of last week (August 20), we welcomed about twenty newly arrived international students from around the world. Two of which came from Afghanistan, and one from Palestine. They were telling me what they had just escaped in their home country. To me, those were stories I was taught in my political science classes and news I heard from the television. My new friends really thankful that I spent time with them finding an apartment, driving them to get food and housing necessities, and helping them get situated. I believe every single person should be doing their part to help another citizen in needs. It doesn't matter where the person comes from (in this instance, they were indubitably lost in this new culture and life in America and it made it extra special to be able to give them a hand), we're all humans living on the same planet. Some of us are trying to live a normal life, while others are trying to survive. I believe it's more than crucial to give back, to help forward. I have limited financial resources, but I still paid an entire grocery for them knowing I still had more resources than they did. Even if I will be eating pasta and rice for a few weeks, this gesture made me feel incredibly happy. My goal is to pursue a PhD in international studies after my MBA, in order to work for organizations such as NATO or the UN, and advocate at a higher level for those who's voice isn't heard. I am the first in my extended family to attend school beyond high school. I believe higher education will help foster a better world for all, in our developed countries as much as in developing countries. Higher education has helped me open my mind to a global world; to common problems shared by multiple societies; and it gives me the tools to heal the wrongs that has been caused.
