I am absolutely fascinated by the brain and how it works! How on Earth can I type this, think of sentences, and perceive my environment all at the same time?! It’s insane!! I aspire to study the brain in the future and go into research regarding Alzheimers Disease. My Granny suffered from the disease, and I want to research and help put out a cure! When I’m not rambling about Psychology and how our brains work, I can be found working as a barista at my local coffee shop! It’s ironic, I don’t even like coffee, but I love my job! It allows me to see so many different people and bond with others over fun drinks! I also enjoy fashion! I like to sew and make clothes, along with sketch out new designs! Who knows, maybe one day I’ll even make my own label! I love school and dedicate a lot of time to my academics and extracurriculars! I serve as captain of my school’s LifeSmarts Team, Student Body President, and Vice President of Community Service for FCCLA!

    Empowerment is more than just a word—it’s a force that drives change, builds confidence, and inspires action. To me, empowerment means having the ability to take control of my life, make meaningful choices, and uplift those around me. It is the foundation of self-growth, the fuel behind ambition, and the spark that ignites leadership. Empowerment is not about having power over others; it is about recognizing one’s own strength and using it to make a difference. Throughout my life, empowerment has shaped the way I approach challenges, leadership, and personal growth. As someone deeply involved in my community, I have seen firsthand how empowerment transforms individuals. Whether it’s leading school organizations, founding a nonprofit, or speaking out on important issues, I have learned that feeling empowered gives me the confidence to take risks and strive for excellence. More importantly, true empowerment extends beyond the individual—it is about creating an environment where others feel seen, heard, and capable of achieving greatness. One of the most significant ways empowerment affects my life is through leadership. As the president of multiple clubs and an advocate for change, I have realized that leadership is not about authority, but about fostering a space where others feel encouraged to grow. When I empower my peers, I see them step into their potential, develop their voices, and contribute in meaningful ways.     Life has a way of shaping us through both joyful and painful experiences. For me, one of the most defining challenges has been my struggle with depression after losing my only close friend—not in the sense of death, but in the painful way that friendships sometimes fade. That loss, combined with my naturally shy personality, made it difficult to navigate life and connect with others. However, through these struggles, I have learned resilience, self-awareness, and the importance of mental health. Even before experiencing depression, I was naturally shy. Forming relationships was difficult for me, and I often found myself on the sidelines, hesitant to speak up or reach out to new people. While others seemed to form friendships effortlessly, I struggled with self-doubt and the fear of being misunderstood. My best friend was one of the few people I felt truly comfortable with—someone I could confide in without fear of judgment. Our friendship made social situations easier, giving me a sense of security in a world that often felt overwhelming. When our friendship ended, it felt like I had lost a part of myself. The one person who made socializing easier was gone, and I didn’t know how to fill that space. I withdrew even more, not because I wanted to, but because I didn’t know how to move forward. That loneliness eventually turned into something heavier—depression. Depression wasn’t just about feeling sad. It was an all-consuming weight that drained me emotionally and physically. Simple tasks became difficult, and things that once brought me joy felt meaningless. I lost motivation and found it hard to connect with others. My shyness made it even harder to reach out for support, and at times, I felt trapped in my own thoughts. What made it worse was that mental health isn’t always openly discussed. I didn’t know how to explain what I was going through, and I worried that others wouldn’t understand. Sometimes, I even doubted if my feelings were valid. From the outside, I appeared quiet and reserved as usual, but on the inside, I was struggling with emotions I didn’t know how to process. Despite how difficult things were, I slowly began to find ways to cope. I realized that even though I had lost my friend, I wasn’t completely alone. There were still people in my life who cared about me, even if I hadn’t always noticed it. I started to open up—sometimes through writing, sometimes by spending more time with family, and sometimes by simply allowing myself to feel my emotions instead of pushing them away. I also began to see that my shyness wasn’t a flaw. Instead of forcing myself to be someone I wasn’t, I started focusing on forming meaningful connections with people who valued me for who I am.     Math has always been more than just numbers and equations to me—it is a language of logic, problem-solving, and creativity. I love math because it challenges me to think critically, pushes me to find solutions, and reveals patterns in the world that might otherwise go unnoticed. One of the things I love most about math is its consistency. No matter where you are or who you are, mathematical truths remain the same. Two plus two will always equal four, and the Pythagorean theorem will always hold true. This reliability gives me a sense of certainty in a world that can often feel unpredictable. I also appreciate the way math allows me to solve problems. Whether it’s a complex algebraic equation or a real-world application like budgeting or engineering, math provides the tools to break down challenges into manageable steps. The feeling of working through a difficult problem and finally arriving at the correct answer is incredibly satisfying. It teaches me patience, persistence, and the value of logical thinking.     From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by the human brain and its complex functions. The more I learned about the brain, the more I realized how much there is still to discover. For me, pursuing a career in STEM—specifically neuroscience—has become a clear path to both satisfy my intellectual curiosity and make a tangible impact in the world. What draws me to STEM is the opportunity to explore and understand the world on a deeper level. Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics offer the tools needed to address some of the most pressing challenges humanity faces.
