How does a father figure be a role model and influence their children's decisions? Many fathers are role models for their kids and will pass on their ideas to them. I have taken my dad's position in business as a role model for where I want to be in the future. My father is currently in a high-management position in business at Penske. This has allowed me to learn how his job works and see the business side of the world. My father grew up on a farm his whole life. This meant he had to work long days after school since he was just a child. Many days when he had schoolwork or sports to participate in he had to go home and work on the farm. This led to him developing a very strong work ethic and discipline. His work ethic and discipline paid off after many years of working at Penske when he was promoted to a high management position.
My father is unique in the way he handles the problems that arise. Many times when an urgent issue occurs he remains calm and makes sure that the problem is fully understood then he acts on it. Not only does he do this in his job he also does it with family matters. My whole life he has taught me about this and how I need to learn these skills. I also want to thank him for his contribution to my work ethic and discipline. Another trait that I find special about my father is his dedication of his time to me and my siblings. Many people will want to spend their free time or money earned on something that they enjoy, but my father decided to spend all this with the family. I took this for granted when I was younger but now that I am older I can see this as what it is. It means he loved my family so much. He would put so much aside for my happiness. My father still tells me that he believes he should be spending most of his time with us because he won't be around us forever, so he wants to dedicate his time to the family and be with us. He also doesn't just do this because he feels like he has to. He does this because he genuinely enjoys it and loves his family. This is why now I always try to appreciate the small things he does. In conclusion, my father is unique in his dedication to his family and his exemplary work ethic demonstrated throughout his years.
