I am enrolled in UTI's Automotive Technology & EV + NASCAR program in North Carolina in the fall. My GPA is 3.2 in a high-performing high school, where I have completed 5 semesters of auto tech, 2 semesters of Electrathon Car Design and Development, and one semester each of Transportation, Robotics, Aerospace, and Aviation. I also completed UTI's Summer Ignite program for high school students last summer, so I know for sure that this is the career that I want.
I have been a lifelong fan of NASCAR, and all racing leagues and circuits, having been introduced to racing by my father. I had a collection of 20 toy vehicles by the time I was four, and my interest has never wavered. I insisted that my father allow me to help pump our vehicle's gas when I was five.
I want to be trained as a high-performance motor sports mechanic in multiple technical roles. UTI provides classroom, hands on, and online training in a very broad set of subject areas. It is the ideal program to help me achieve my goal. I would also like to become certified by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) after attending UTI.
I have the grades, and the very strong interest, and am enrolled in the perfect program for me. At the same time, my family has a very limited income, and two of my siblings are already in college as well, so this scholarship will enable me to afford the significant tuition for the education required to achieve my goal.

I have always had a very strong interest in all kinds of vehicles. I had a collection of 20 toy vehicles by the time I was four, and my interest has never wavered. I insisted that my father allow me to help pump our vehicle's gas when I was five.
My goal is to become a talented and versatile auto mechanic and make a significant contribution and impact to a winning NASCAR Cup racing team. In order to achieve that, I am enrolled to begin Universal Technical Institute's (UTI's) Automotive Program in Mooresville, NC, in a few months. While in high school, I have already completed 5 semesters of Auto Tech, 2 semesters of Electrathon Car Design and Development, and one semester each of Transportation, Robotics, Aerospace, and Aviation. In addition, I completed UTI's Summer Ignite program for high school students last summer, so I know for sure that this is the career that I want.
Another area that has helped me become the person that I am today is being on my high school Crew team. In Fall of 2025 I was elected Captain by my peers. It is something that I am very proud of. A good Captain has to balance providing leadership, earning respect, and being a mentor and coach to the younger teammates, to be most effective. I very much believe that my teammates voted me to be their Captain after witnessing my dedication by how many volunteer hours I put in working on the boathouse, cleaning, waxing, and prepping the Crew boats for competition, helping with the junior high summer camps all summer, and otherwise just being available to contribute to the team in every way possible. Being a part of all of that has been a very rewarding experience. Crew is very much a team sport, and one where personal discipline is key, so I know that this experience will help me significantly when I am part of a motorsports racing team.
It took some courage coming from a high-performing school district where 90% of seniors attend college, to listen to my own voice and follow the right path for me. I also applied to colleges and was accepted to five schools around the Detroit and Indianapolis regions, as well UNC Charlotte. But I have enjoyed every one of my hands-on automotive and technology courses, and spent extra time and effort in those labs, so it is clear to me that I am following the right path.
I have been a lifelong fan of NASCAR, and all racing leagues and circuits, having been introduced to racing by my father. I selected UTI's Automotive Technology & EV + NASCAR 16-month program in North Carolina to pursue my dream. I chose to attend this school because I want to be trained as a high-performance motor sports mechanic in multiple roles. UTI provides classroom, hands on, and online training in a very broad set of automotive subject areas. It is the ideal program to help me achieve my goal. I would also like to become certified by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) after attending UTI.

At the same time, my family has a very limited income, and two of my siblings are already in college as well, so this scholarship will help enable me to afford the significant tuition for the education required to achieve my goal. Thank you for your consideration.
