Bio
Hi there
I am an autistic artist of color who tries to look into the bright side of things. After when I graduate high school, I plan to either go to a community college to transfer to a 4-year institution to study studio art and/or if possible animation, or go straight into a 4-year doing what I were to do to transfer there. I’ve always been dreaming of creating my show or movie for a very long time.

Whenever it was Christmas time or my birthday, there was one item that I was given every time. Art supplies. It started with those art kits with markers that either worked or never worked at all and sketchbooks with art supplies along with a gift card to Michaels. I receive these every year because I have a very supportive family that knows my passion for art.
I feel like my love of art began when I could pick up a crayon and start drawing with it. I know you hear this a lot but there was something when that happened that made me love art ever since. Along with art being my all-time favorite subject in school. My parents loved seeing me and my brother drawing. They were very supportive of me since I wanted to be an artist. In the third grade, I started reading graphic novels and manga, which inspired me to be a cartoonist one day. I also discovered digital art using Ibis Paint on a tablet I got on Black Friday. Later on, I found out that some authors of my favorite books worked in animation and sometimes got TV and movie adaptations of their books. I was more interested in the animated adaptations than the live-action ones. I also enjoyed watching storytime YouTubers and animation memes. It was then from that moment on, I wanted to pursue a career in animation. This year I went to my first statewide art competition. I didn't win anything but my school did win in a lot of categories and I made lots of friends there.
Choosing an artist to be my all-time favorite artist is quite tricky for me because I genuinely like looking at the work of other people. I get a lot of inspiration from a lot of artists I see online. What I like seeing in their works is their unique ways of creating processes, the abundance of art tips out there, and meeting other artists that have the same interests as I do. Another thing that I find inspiration for my art is looking at what I usually see in real life and stuff I see in museums. As I said before, it's quite tricky for me to just pick an artist.
After I graduate high school. I plan to enroll in a community college and transfer to a four-year university to major in any degree that is art-related. I want to work as either a character designer or a storyboard artist in the animation industry. I also want to create my own animated series and/or movies. I am very excited about where this scholarship can lead me in my education and in my future.
