The future is now and if you want to be successful, it starts now. This means a lot to me as I am not from a very affluent family and need to be money conscious. After going to college and seeing a lot of other people coming from all around the world, they have allowances from their parents and don't have to work to make money which makes me think life is unfair. As a result, I want to bring that sort of success to my children too in the future, and to accomplish that I will need to start working towards my goals. These goals will in turn bring me and my family wealth that will go on for generations.

Watching movies, animes, and other medias made me realize how much work and effort people put into these entertainment industries. Not only that, but the time and money put into them are also insurmountable as careful coordination and teamwork are necessary to bring these productions into people’s homes. This fact didn’t hit me until I’ve read an article about underpaying animation artists in Japan and how grueling the work is to bring acceptable products to people’s TVs. I wondered why employers drill intensive and impossible to meet deadlines onto their employees who work for their livelihood, some for their dreams and goals. There is no leeway or compromise for these employees to gain their proper needs or rights since this industry has been this way since the start of animating and drawing in Japan. However, a prime example of the opposite in the animation industry is the Kyoto Animation studio where employees are valued and their time and effort are rewarded. The reason for their success and popularity was quite simple. It was the bonds, connections, and relationships between the employees and employers that have been there since the beginning. To create and bring top-quality animations to people’s TVs was everyone’s goal at Kyoto animation. The desire to work together efficiently without fail was always present. I believe that building connections and relationships with others are essential for humans to live. I haven’t seen the rest of the world yet, but instead a small portion of it. By going to a UC, I want to be able to build connections and relationships that will spread and affect others to do the same and work together for a goal. During these unprecedented times, the COVID-19 pandemic, people are divided by opinions and proposals and nothing is moving forward. However, if people are able to recognize each others' needs and desires, we can compromise and work towards a common goal, a disease-free country. Hopefully, these connections that I will build can foster into something that will bring change and impact to the world.

I never thought that one fateful day of me deciding to sit down to my friend's sister on the sidewalk during a party will turn into her being one of my best friends. She to this day still supports me in what I do and what I want to achieve. Whether or not I am ranting or having a friendly banter with her, it gives me a sense of security and support that someone is willing to talk to me no matter the situation and still stands with me.

I am excited about the metaverse as it can transcend the way we imagine the world on a daily basis. We would be able to complete much of our needed tasks in the meta world without stepping foot outside our own houses. This can be very beneficial if another pandemic were to hit us. Aside from that, the metaverse can bring about the creativity of many people that are not able to express in the real world where they struggle to find the confidence to put it out there. The metaverse can be the solution to many people's inner problems such as introvertness, loneliness, and other struggles. It will be an exciting adventure to see what the metaverse will bring to our society in the coming years.

I always strive to wake up early every morning to stretch and read. This will help me activate my brain and be ready for the rest of the day. After self-studying and self-reflection, I realized it is not about being better than the person sitting next to you in class but being better than yourself. It is about being better than the you of yesterday, you of two days ago, and the you in the past. To do so, I strive to read every day something new and gain intellectual knowledge. I also work towards being fit and exercising every day so that my mind and body are growing and strengthening.

As a freshman at the University of California studying mechanical engineering, I strive to look for new opportunities to make new friends and to better myself as a person. I love to watch movies and shows but I try my best to go out every day to workout. While I spend a lot of time for myself, I wish to spend more time with my friends and family by introducing new shows to them to watch together. While I am still trying my best to get out of my comfort zone, I have made steps towards that goal by talking to floormates.

I once realized how much I wanted to help others as I witnessed older people struggle to accomplish daily tasks and people with disabilities unable to have things accommodated for them. As a result, I easily looked towards finding a career in healthcare healing others. I began by taking interest in science clubs at school and even talking to my cousin who is a physician about her tasks and what it is like working in healthcare. However, once I began taking science classes, I realized the information and material did not click with me and I could not make anything of it no matter how much I studied. I found other subjects like mathematics and physics to be easier for me and this recognition solidified my stance as I joined a club called Mathematics Engineering Science and Achievement. It was a club where you get to build projects and compete with other schools in a competition specifically for each project type. I took part in several projects such as building a bridge, wooden dowel glider, and prosthetic arm. With all these competitions, I have won several awards but it wasn't the awards that made me love engineering and building, it was the process itself that was fascinating to me. Consequently, I realized that technology nowadays that is readily available such as smartphones, computers, and other sorts aren't geared towards helping the minorities and outliers such as older and disabled groups. As a result, I want to build and create technology that can help these groups accomplish what they want without sacrificing anything. Big technology companies do not gear towards these groups because it is not profitable but to me it is inhumane and I wish to change that.

Looking back at how everything has changed drastically in the past year, I cannot emphasize how important it is to reflect on the past and move forward with new insights and outlooks on a brighter future for everyone. It didn’t seem real to me that a pandemic was happening right outside our doors and that half of my junior year and entire senior year would eventually turn into endless Zoom meetings. Reality is finally setting in for me as I have received the COVID-19 vaccine last month and restrictions are being lifted that truly a year has gone by stuck at home, fearful of what’s to come. It is often easy to say how quickly a year has gone by at New Year’s parties but this past year was entirely different. Millions of people becoming unemployed, a shortage of toilet paper, the Black Lives Matter movement, attacks against Asian people, and the whole division amongst American people in politics during all this. It became exhausting and numbing to continue reading the news about rising COVID-19 cases or the continued violence in communities around the world. Although thinking about others and trying to help is in our very nature, our own health should be put first in hopes of being able to spread positivity and wellness to others.
Essentially, I realized my mental health took priority and took a break from all the depressive and negative media stories and news. As my dad was laid off due to the pandemic, we both began to enjoy our time together and took on new hobbies such as ping pong and drawing. While I still had school online, I had way more free time than I did before and I utilized this time to enjoy the things I loved doing and spent time with my family. While I took this quarantine period as a time to catch up on myself and improve my mentality, I knew subconsciously that many other families are struggling to stay afloat. Rent, food, house essentials, and on top of all that, the loss of their jobs made everything so much harder for them. This pandemic made matters worse for families who were living check by check and if they were to get sick, it would have been extremely difficult to find ways to pay off the medical bills. In a way, it made me feel guilty that I was enjoying the extra time I got with my family and for myself while others were suffering. I wished I had the qualifications and training to help these people from a medical standpoint or even more through government change in policy for public relief and compensation. However, I did what I could such as making sure my own neighbors were alright by talking from afar. It made me realize how much more I want to go into healthcare to help these people in times of need without needing the government to take action or me feeling guilty first.

My mother always told me those who worked hard will always be better off in the future than those who slack off and waste their time on meaningless things. I took those words to heart as I watched my friends from elementary school to even now in high school spend so much time playing games and watching shows without giving a second thought about their futures and their path to success. I knew that I had to be different from them and focused on my future and built up my reputation and experiences through my life in schooling to better prepare myself for the future. Not only that, I used to reside in a poor neighborhood where shady neighbors and other lowlives lived also back then. My mom taught me early on to avoid these people who steal and cheat and to live my life with honor and dignity. Consequently, I never got involved in fights or gangs throughout my life as I valued being a civilized person over violence. Lastly, my parents always voiced how I must be brave and live on my own one day. They taught me many skills such as cooking early on and doing chores around the house. Over the years, these tasks would essentially become mine to do yearlong and I learned how to live on some days home alone without any parental supervision. These values and skills definitely helped me become who I am today and who I will become in the future.

While the national student debt in America was not that high in the early years of college and university enrollment, this number rose up exponentially over the course of a few decades due to the rising need for higher education and monetary support. Although student debt has been combated with financial aid and other methods, it has become a huge national problem that surpasses these insufficient methods and should be discussed amongst government officials and policymakers to make changes as it not only affects the students but also the families, economy, and future generations. While there are millions of high school seniors right now thinking about going to college or pursuing higher levels of education, there are many who find other alternatives and find success in those routes in life also. According to Ben Miller and Colleen Campbell, writers of “Addressing the $1.5 Trillion in Federal Student Loan Debt,” published on Center for American Progress, states that “forgiveness of up to $10,000 would cancel $370.5 billion” and “eliminate all student loan debt for an estimated 16.3 million borrowers.” Looking at the numbers, it is clear that forgiving student debt to a certain amount can be very beneficial for both sides as students can be finally relieved from their burdens and the nation can expect more monetary movement and spending. As a first-generation aspiring college student, I find that college loans might be necessary for me as my family might not be able to cover all the costs. However, I have looked into this situation and found out that many student debtors face many challenges and that poses concerns for me. Doing my research and studying definitely keeps me informed about these impending tasks and better prepare me for the future.

Growing up as an only child was a very unique experience that not a lot of my peers could relate to. My parents and I immigrated to the United States with barely any knowledge of the culture or language. However, that did not bother me as I grew up quite joyfully on my own with my mother’s company during my early years. Although that was all I needed, I wanted to make friends as I saw on television. However, there was a language barrier that heavily affected my confidence to communicate with others. I was always self-conscious about how I would sound when talking to others which resulted in me becoming shyer. This would’ve stayed this way if it wasn’t for my neighbors who insisted on hanging out with me after school. I felt very uncomfortable at first but I realized that if I wasn’t able to change, I will never be able to find my own voice and thoughts. Along with this, I was able to find my own sense of responsibility among this as I began making decisions on my own regarding my livelihood. I went out to eat with neighbors and came home later on in the day which never happened before. The growing sense of independence and individuality carried on as I began making friends with my classmates and hung out with them too. My shyness began to go away and thankfully so because I got to rely on my friends for help on homework and other activities. Our struggle together deepened our bond which flourished other feelings such as our rivalry and thoughtfulness. We took these feelings to challenge ourselves in everything as we wanted to compete with each other as middle schoolers do. Not only that, our circle of friends became even closer as we all enrolled in Stockton Early College Academy as it was famous in our town for being a rigorous and challenging school. From then to now and forever, I am thankful for overcoming my shyness and meeting these people who will push me to my limits in college and onward.

I have worked on stick together in middle school, Rube Goldberg machine during freshman year, bridges in sophomore year and even went to state competition, prosthetic arm during junior year and won first but state competition was canceled due to COVID-19, and lastly, I am doing glider for my last year in high school participating in MESA. I am really glad that I was able to experience and compete in MESA as I would have never gotten the chance to build these projects and ideas on my own. I was given the opportunity to take my ideas and inspirations and build them.

Anime, shows, movies, whatever sort of media entertainment will most definitely excite me as I wish to see different worlds and environments portrayed by these medias. In our world, everything seems so dull and boring but when you watch something like One Piece or Naruto, you wish you can experience and witness these characters in real life. These types of fantasy and adventure productions get people to imagine and become more creative as they realize and know that this world has endless possibilities that can be unlocked through all sorts of media entertainment. Even for me, I loved watching Dragon Ball growing up and it made me want to draw them myself as a kid. These little things like inspiring others to do something new are important to our mundane lives of going to school or work and repeating our days.

I love Yoasobi as her music truly connects to her listeners and how many people can relate to the lyrics. It builds a connection to her fan base such as me through words that many other artists, especially in the United States, don't talk or sing about. Without her music, I would probably be conservative with my feelings and emotions as I don't talk about these things with a lot of people. Finding others who are like you and expressing your feelings to them can really help our mentalities and our souls. Yoasobi allowed me to find those people and make new connections with them.

Many times over in group projects leaders need to be chosen to make sure everyone is doing their parts and completing everything on time. I have been chosen for this role many times but one specific time stood out to me that made me realize the importance of being a leader. It was for a project dealing with African American history specifically during World War II. I recognized that my group members were not people who took the class seriously and were oftentimes dozing off during lectures. As a result, I took it upon myself to constantly remind them of the deadlines and their own individual responsibilities in completing their own parts of the project. As I come from a very strict and upright Chinese household, grades mean a lot and I recognize the importance of trying your best in high school so I needed this project to go well for my grades and grade point average to stay high. I knew that demanding my group members to work constantly and to everything properly was not going to help encourage them to do so. Instead, I offered to help with their parts if needed and worked with them on completing certain parts. Consequently, they felt like their work is actually amounting to something and contributing to the whole project. However, there was one group member who was not asking for help or completing any of their parts. I recognized this issue way earlier and I prepared some of their parts already to be completed easily later on. Doing certain parts and leaving in blanks for themselves to fill in meant that they would actually be doing work and on time if they were to procrastinate until the end. I prepared guidelines and key points for my group members as we needed to present our project to the rest of the class and this was to make sure that they knew what they were talking about and staying on topic. Nearing our deadline, I found out that the person who was procrastinating on their parts completed their work and added a thank you note for me for my assistance. I am glad that my work and effort bore fruit as our group presentation went well and was one of the best presentations in the class. Taking away from this, I learned that being a leader requires more than responsibility and the right mind as teamwork and coordination is very much important. A team always needs a leader and a leader always needs a team that will back him or her up.
Nikhil Desai "Favorite Film" Scholarship
While Hollywood movies and other short films made here in the United States are enticing and more than half the time worthwhile, these films are oftentimes made for profit and cut a lot of corners to reel in the most amount of money. I would enthusiastically go to the movie theaters to see big-name movie titles to only be disappointed by the movie's plot and script. As a result, I turned towards more creative writing and story-telling movies, specifically animation movies made in Japan. A phenomenal film made by Kyoto Animation, a famous movie title on Netflix, "A Silent Voice" directed by Naoko Yamada is my all-time favorite movie as it touches upon many aspects of school-life and normal teenager reflections. It is a very dramatic movie that will certainly touch anyone's heart and make them feel for the characters. It is a movie that has creative writing that flows and builds upon real-world problems like suicide, depression, bullying, and disabilities. It is a gift wrapped in feelings and emotions meant to be opened and reflected upon. Many people would probably turn away from the movie seeing that it has no action or it is an anime movie. However, I assure you that this movie is different and that it will change your views. It doesn't revolve around controversial issues but instead the concrete and hard-fact issues of the world today revolving around our adolescents and teenagers. While studios here in America are racking up billions like Marvel, I highly people to look towards other sides and other different types of films for entertainment to understand how creative writing and story-telling does not need to revolve around action and adventure, but instead a heart-warming, tear-jerking movie that can change your views.

First-Gen in Health & Medicine Scholarship
As a first-generation and first-generation college student, I feel a great sense of achievement and responsibility as I am carrying all my family's and past generations' efforts and struggles with me towards my future goals. They all paved the way for me to have better and greater opportunities to succeed in life and my only way to give thanks is through my hard work and achievements. Without their many sacrifices, I would probably be living in rural China working at minimum wage scrapping by. However, because of my family's efforts to come to America to give me a better education and a chance to do bigger things in life, I am greatly indebted to them to give it my all in everything I do so I can make them proud. I recognized the importance of education quite early on in my childhood as my parents emphasized it a lot. I took it to heart to make great strides towards getting good grades and being the best student possible. Watching movies, animes, and other medias made me realize how much work and effort people put into these entertainment industries. A Sani Life Scholarship
While 2020 started off with a jest regarding the possibility of World War 3, it was certainly not the end of jokes and miserable events that would soon come. Unbeknownst to all, a pandemic would hit and forever change our world. All outdoor activities would cease and businesses would have to close which meant that my parents would lose their jobs. It was definitely heartbreaking to know that businesses won't be fully opened for a long while due to people disregarding state guidelines and spreading the virus. It came to light that many people choose to be the "heroes" that will guide us to a truly free country and become anti-maskers, which begs the question: does freedom really mean trampling over regulations and policies and risking other people's lives to prove a point?
I certainly wish that people can come to a compromise and work together to free ourselves of this virus but that is evidently impossible as politics is basically war. As a high school junior before the quarantine happened, I have obtained my license and looked forward to going to places with my friends and go sightseeing. However, this goal was scrapped as the virus spread quickly in the United States. Not only that, competitions such as Mathematics Engineering Science and Achievement (MESA) and Chess state competition were canceled which meant a lot of our efforts were wasted just like for everyone else in the world. It became a reality that quarantine would last much longer than just summer as I basically stayed indoors for months and still going right now. I will never forget the dullness and boorish afternoons I spent doing the same activities over and over again.
As school opened virtually, I recognized as a senior I had more responsibilities than ever regarding college applications, scholarships, and exams (SAT and ACT). Studying on my own and receiving very little information and assistance from my counselors regarding what to do on college applications certainly made me realize that as an upcoming adult, I must adapt and learn how to overcome these challenging times. I found myself taking a lot of time off for myself just to enjoy time with my family as I rarely get the chance when going to school normally. Quarantine was definitely a long-needed break but I wish to have some kind of normalcy again.
However, I definitely did not take time off reading the news as events such as the Black Lives Matter movement gained international attention and the capital rioting occurred. It definitely became even more apparent that this country did not have capable leaders and needed to be held accountable for. I will definitely live to tell the story about how certain groups of people pushed for agendas that met their selfish needs instead of the entire country's. Consequently, the COVID-19 national death count is a numerical tag of how devasting these mistakes are and how hard it will be to remedy this. These mistakes and embarrassing leadership will forever live on in history books and I hope that future leaders won't make the same mistakes.
While I mostly enjoyed having a long break from schoolwork and my part-time job, I wish to return back to them now as everyone including me, wishes to go back outside and enjoy gatherings. As I have basically lost one year of my life to staying home, I wish to dedicate the rest of my life to work and enjoying the stress and experiences that come with it as I definitely do not want to live an uneventful life. COVID-19 quarantines allowed me to get a long glimpse of how uneventful one's life can be just doing nothing with no goal in mind. As a result, once it is safe to go outside again, I will definitely be ready to take on whatever obstacles that come and experience the days I've lost to COVID-19.

Misha Brahmbhatt Help Your Community Scholarship
Throughout my high school years, I have enjoyed and participated in many different clubs that allowed me to venture and experience various activities that I wouldn't normally be exposed to. Being in Key Club and Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) allowed me to fully enjoy and understand the importance of high school and why it is certainly an important phase in everyone's lives. It is the time where students find what they want to do in life and pursue their dreams in many ways possible. I am forever grateful for my high school that allowed me to pursue my dreams and prepared me as much as I can to do so. Even though my high school is very fortunate and professional to prepare hundreds of students for college, I recognize that many other students in other counties, states, and countries might not be as fortunate to provide the most for their students. As a result, I wish to make the most out of my education and bring forth the most support I can for schools in need. I can utilize my power as a citizen of America and use my voice to call attention to schools that are in need of supplies and other sources that can better help improve students' educational experiences. Schools with low funding would more than likely have few clubs and activities available to students and that can definitely hinder their possibilities of dreaming and pursuing big dreams. Not only that, once I have achieved my goal of becoming a dentist, I will most definitely hold viewings and events for nearby high school students to get a look at what dentists do and experience hands-on learning. By doing these events, these high school students will be able to learn other jobs and occupations and begin to think about what they can do in the future. In addition, I wish to have a scholarship program available to nearby high schools so that high school students can have an opportunity to receive monetary aid for college. Consequently, this scholarship will lessen the stress and worries that many high school students across the globe have about going to college and pursuing higher education. Essentially, I wish to give back to my community in a variety of ways that many others would never consider as they do not recognize the importance of high school and its experiences. Without innovative and passionate high school students, the future workforce would definitely fall short of the ever-growing society and economy that we have today.

Sikdope “Music Is The Cure” Scholarship
I moved to the United States at a young age and was able to learn both my own hometown language and English at the same time. However, it was still difficult to converse with others as I was culturally distanced from everyone else. I had to adapt and learn other people's characteristics and qualities as I learned mine at home. Coming from an only child perspective, it was definitely difficult to communicate and talk to others as I was shy and was not fully fluent in English. As a result, I oftentimes turned to television and music to help me better understand the American culture. Television definitely helped me better understand communication and the environment it is but listening to music was something more than just the lyrics. I was able to dance along and bop my head as I found friends who had similar tastes and spent time with them. As I continued to listen to music, I expanded my genres and realized that there are so many more different styles and artistic rhythms to music than just the autotunes and beats. I began to listen to other music in other languages and began to understand what some of them meant. Through these efforts, I hope to understand other languages and cultures through music. Watching movies, animes, and other medias made me realize how much work and effort people put into these entertainment industries. AMPLIFY Chess Masters Scholarship
Chess is one of my favorite pass times as I get to spend time with my friends and get to fancy a game with them. While it does take a lot of time and thinking, chess certainly helps players think ahead and understand various characteristics of players' choices and moves. From my personal experiences, I have recognized the importance of taking time to understand the consequences of certain actions and think about other possibilities to go about my way. Not all goals are one straight path, but instead, it can be a curvy road that splits. Obstacles as many would say can definitely impact our lives and how we go about solving them. Chess incorporates all that while adding more, the experience of defeat. Many people have experienced defeat before and may have not learned how to change. Chess serves as a great outlet for those who wish to battle it out and use their wits to defeat their opponents. Chess is all a game but it is much more, a valuable package to unveil people's characteristics and qualities.

Make Me Laugh Meme Scholarship
Growing up as a single child with only my cousins to look up to, this meme is really relatable and meaningful to me. Whenever I would go out with my cousins, I would mainly be hanging out with their friends and be quite awkward since I am 7 years younger than them. As you can tell in the meme, I would be the small Keanu Reeves trying to fit in with my cousins and their friends. More than half the time, I would not understand what they were talking about and just stand by quietly listening and watching. I can still imagine myself today being as awkward as I was back then with my cousins and their friends as I feel like an outsider and have no idea what's going on.

When considering internal or external factors that affect my life daily, resilience has certainly become a vital skill that enables me to overcome many obstacles. Throughout my life, I have realized that obstacles are never-ending and unexpected. However, I must not give up in the face of adversity as running away from problems gets no one anywhere. From confronting my shyness, building up confidence, and establishing relationships with others would have not been possible without my resilience. Many times over I struggled to make friends in elementary school mainly because I am a single child and lacked social skills to do so. However, I knew I couldn’t walk away. The same can be said in classrooms as I struggled with English. I had to cope with it, struggling to learn this foreign language not spoken at home. Through these efforts, I was able to form bonds with others and made many friends. Resilience was certainly contagious as it pushed us forward together and deepened our bonds. But that is not all to it, participating in competitions such as Academic Pentathlon in middle school was certainly a test of my limits. I had to study so much, many times over compared to what I had to study for regular classes. But as I cope with balancing my schedule and managing my time wisely, my efforts bore fruit as I won many medals throughout the years while pushing my resilience to the next level. Even now as I struggle to work as a newly hired busboy requiring to quickly clean and wipe tables for new guests, I can’t give up at something new just because it is hard at first. I recognize the commendable efforts the other staff members have made to keep the restaurant running in which I cannot walk away from. As of right now, dealing with COVID-19 has certainly become a challenge as everything has gone awry, but that will not change my mentality as I will cope and face these challenges and work towards my goals. Watching movies, animes, and other medias made me realize how much work and effort people put into these entertainment industries. Not only that, but the time and money put into them are also insurmountable as careful coordination and teamwork are necessary to bring these productions into people’s homes. Austin Kramer Music Scholarship
"The Simple Things" by Michael Carreon speaks volume with a simple acoustic guitar playing and heartwarming lyrics. This song stems from the simple love and care for a significant other. Not only that, this playlist contains a variety of songs that come from different genres such as Kpop and rap from different languages. I believe it is important to enjoy music from other cultures and languages as music isn't about race, ethnicity, or gender, but it is about the message and the intention to connect with others.

As the only child in my family, I oftentimes find myself to be bored and quiet. Going through daily life without anyone else to talk to other than my parents and friends on the phone would mean my life would be quiet and dull. As a result, I turned towards music to fill my environment and keep my brain active as I sing along or dance to the beat. As I am writing this essay for a scholarship, I am moving my head along to the beat of the song and keeping myself motivated to finish this essay to the best of my abilities. Music does wonders for many people and with the many different kinds of music genres we have today, people can enjoy whatever they prefer and keep their lives lively. However, music does much more for me than I believe for others as it serves as a mode of communication to keep me from losing sanity in quietness and allows my brain to work to follow along with the lyrics and rhythm. When listening to music, my brain is constantly working to listen to what the singer is saying and interpreting the meaning behind it. Consequently, in my opinion, my reading and composition skills are being impacted by the music that I listen to daily as it revolves around focusing on messages and utilizing rhythms and beats to form a song. Writing, reading, and composition skills revolve around a certain message also and have evidence and analysis that flows along to form an essay, similar to a song. Music does not only helps me stay focused and keep my brain active but it can also serve as a motivational piece as there are motivational songs that keep people moving and pushing forward. These many genres can help people accomplish different tasks like peaceful music for falling asleep or instrumental music for yoga. Music definitely serves all these motives for me as I listen to music while exercising and accomplishing my daily tasks. Essentially, music is not something that one listens just for entertainment. It serves as many modes and influences for many people including me that interacts and communicates on many different levels. Without music in the world, people would be lost and find trouble finding an escape from troubles. Music is most certainly a relaxing and remedial mode of communication for many people.
Granada Hills Charter Highlander of the Year Scholarship
First-Generation, First Child Scholarship
Future Leaders in Technology Scholarship - High School Award
The area of tech I am interested in is biotechnology because of its expansive and wide range of possibilities that may one day change our worlds. Our world has encountered many problems and difficulties that we have not taken many stances or plans to resolve them. One case can be global warming as it is clearly an everlasting problem now for us and future generations. Coupled with not many restrictions and countermeasures against continuous global warming, our world is slowly dying out but it won't be a problem for us, it'll be a problem for our future generations. Biotechnology can be a possible solution to help slow down global warming through innovative plants and chloroplasts-organisms that turn carbon dioxide and other air pollutants into other molecules through their own systems. Not only does biotechnology can help change the world, but it can also help change ourselves and our own livelihoods. Technology, in general, has helped us find more convenient and innovative ways to conquer our everyday needs and problems. Phones have ever changed our way of interacting and finding new entertainments. Certain apps allow us to do a wide range of actions from video chatting and playing games. However, biotechnology goes a step further and challenges people to find ways to use biology to change traditional practices that have not seen much improvement or are in need of an improvement to meet the ever-changing standards of the world. One specific problem that certain needs changing is famine and food shortages that are due to a wide range of problems. Countries that are struck with consistent struggle and conflict oftentimes don't have easy access to food sources and left stuck starving. By understanding how plants and foods grow, it is certainly possible to effectively change and allow certain plants and foods to grow in rough conditions such as water shortages and no sunlight source. Finding new ways to effectively plant and treat those in need is certainly a race to finish quickly. Those who are passionate and competitive would certainly go far and wide to search for this golden vegetable or food that will feed thousands in rough, sandy regions and by furthering my education with the help of scholarships, I wish to be one who stands with these starving people and find new hope for them.
