My name is Rudolph Peter and I plan on going to a trade school called SLCC (South Louisiana Community College) which classes are opening in August. My family have always been low income living almost pay check to pay check and my father being unemployed for a while leaving my mother to take care of me an my two older brothers. I fell in love with carpentry when my high school Rayne High offered a carpentry class an it was a whole new experience that I was amazed with. I love the fact that I can build something with my own hands and have the skills and knowledge that I need to basically do anything. The confidence I would gain from being able to not only take the class but go out into the world and share my knowledge with others would beyond amazing. I do anything for the opportunity to make an honest living in my life and getting this scholarship would be the first step into achieving that goal. I’ve spent all four of my years in high school wanting and searching for ways on how to better my craft an education in the field. I plan to use my skills in carpentry to improve my career and my community in a positive way. I want to help repair and build homes for others creating a safe space for them. One of my goals isn’t to succeed for myself but also for my family that’s taken care of my all my life even when things were hard and also to make a lasting difference in the community. I am fully committed to the values of hard work and long hours. Willing to take the lead and in everything I do. Willing to do the dirty work that no one else can do for the job. Being a Boy Scout all my life as also taught me discipline safety and other useful skills that can help me on my journey into becoming a carpenter. And as becoming an Eagle Scout the highest honor that a scout can reach I will continue to spread the values and discipline that was taught to me throughout my life. I hope to inspire others into the field of carpentry the same way I was as well. I hope that my application gets taken into deep consideration and thank you for your time and effort.

She started young in entertainment and slowly built her career through acting, music, and performing. Watching her grow over the years has been inspiring because it shows that dedication and perseverance can lead to great achievements.
What I admire most about Sabrina Carpenter is her willingness to express herself through her music. Her songs often talk about personal experiences, emotions, and growth. This honesty makes her music relatable to many people, including me. Listening to her music reminds me that it is okay to be yourself and to keep moving forward even when life becomes challenging.
Her career has impacted me by teaching me the importance of believing in my goals. As a high school student preparing for my future, I understand that success takes patience and determination. Sabrina Carpenter’s journey reminds me that everyone starts somewhere, and with hard work you can continue improving and reaching new levels.
Another reason I respect her is how she continues to evolve as an artist. She is not afraid to try new things or grow creatively. That mindset inspires me to keep learning and developing my own skills as I prepare for my future career and education.

John Geremia Memorial Industrial Trades Scholarship
I am striving to become a carpenter and am committed to developing the skills needed to succeed in the skilled trades. I am an Eagle Scout, which taught me discipline, responsibility, and leadership through service and teamwork. I am also an active altar server at my church and a member of the Knights of Peter Claver, where I continue to serve my community and strengthen my character. My goal is to build a career in the trades where safety, leadership, and teamwork are essential.
Success in the skilled trades depends on more than technical skill; it requires teamwork, leadership, and accountability. I learned these qualities through my experiences as an Eagle Scout and through community service as I work toward becoming a carpenter. One of the most meaningful leadership experiences I had was leading a group project for my Eagle Scout service requirement.
The project required organizing volunteers, managing time, and ensuring that all work was completed safely and correctly. I took initiative by planning the project in advance, gathering materials, and assigning tasks based on each person’s abilities. Before we began, I explained safety expectations and the overall goal so everyone understood their role. While the project was completed successfully, the process taught me an important lesson about leadership.
Some volunteers had different skill levels and experience, and I initially underestimated how much communication and guidance they would need. This caused moments of confusion and slowed progress. Instead of adjusting quickly, I tried to handle too much on my own. Although we met our goal, I realized afterward that the outcome could have been smoother if I had listened more and communicated more clearly throughout the project.
With the benefit of hindsight, I would make sure to check in regularly with team members, encourage questions, and adjust assignments when needed. I learned that leadership is not about control, but about supporting your team and earning their trust. These lessons are directly applicable to my future in the trades, where safety and teamwork are critical.
My involvement as an altar server and a member of the Knights of Peter Claver has reinforced the values of responsibility, respect, and service. As I pursue a career in the skilled trades, I am committed to continuing to grow as a dependable team member and leader who contributes positively to any crew I work with.
