FinalistBio
In 2022, I made the decision to put myself first and pursue an education in dental assisting. Despite the challenges, I served as Vice President of the Student American Dental Assistant Association for TCC, where I had the privilege of learning from amazing instructors and volunteering with programs like Save a Smile. This program provides preventive and restorative dental care for children from low-income families, an initiative close to my heart, as I understand firsthand the impact of inadequate healthcare on youth. My experiences have strengthened my commitment to the field and ignited my desire to further my education in dental hygiene.
I am now entering my final year in the dental hygiene program at Tarrant County College (TCC), where I’ve been selected as the President for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. This leadership role reflects not only my dedication to the profession but also my passion for giving back to the community.

After high school, I struggled to continue my education due to financial restrictions and lack of support. I was a first-generation college student coming from a background where educational opportunities were limited. My parents, who only had a primary education, instilled in me the belief that education was the key to unlocking opportunities and improving my future. Their encouragement to pursue higher education, even without the guidance or financial resources to do so, inspired my academic and personal resilience.
Due to my financial disadvantage, I entered the workforce immediately after high school, focusing on supporting my family. Even though my dream was put on hold, I made the best out of this situation and eventually worked my way up to e-store assistant manager. Achieving the H-E-B Innovation Award (2018), Central Market’s Distinguished Women of Leadership (2022), and Central Market’s Sharpest (2022) not only reflected my growth as a leader but also fueled my desire to continue pursuing my true passion.

I am applying for this scholarship to help alleviate the financial burden of completing my education and to allow me to fully immerse myself in my studies.
