Heron Wolf Commercial Real Estate Scholarship
I learned what resilience looks like by watching my dad get back up. I have seen him face setbacks that could have easily made him give up, but he never did. He would wake up the next day, go to work, and keep moving forward. He never needed to give me a speech about working hard or staying strong. I learned those lessons simply by watching him live them.
His example has shaped the way I look at my own future. I have learned that your circumstances do not have to determine where you end up. They may make the road harder, but they do not have to stop you from reaching your goals. That is the mindset I carry with me as I work toward my goal of building a career in commercial real estate.
I am interested in commercial real estate because I want to understand how properties, businesses, and investments can create long-term value. My goal is not only to build a successful career for myself, but to create financial stability for my family. I want to reach a point where I can look back at everything my parents sacrificed and know that their hard work helped create something bigger for our family. I know this career will require years of education, dedication, networking, and learning from mistakes, but I am willing to put in that work.
Receiving this scholarship would remove one of the biggest barriers standing between me and that future: cost. College is an important step toward my career, but the financial responsibility that comes with it can be difficult for my family. This scholarship would allow me to focus more of my energy on my education instead of dividing my attention between school and extra work just to cover expenses. It would give me the opportunity to take advantage of educational and professional opportunities that can help prepare me for a career in commercial real estate.
More than financial support, this scholarship would also mean that someone believes in my potential. Knowing that someone is willing to invest in my future would motivate me to work even harder and make the most of the opportunity. I would carry that support with me throughout college and into my career, remembering that someone saw potential in me before I had the chance to prove it.
My family is the reason I want to succeed. I have watched my parents work hard and make sacrifices to give me opportunities they may not have had themselves. Their sacrifices have taught me not to take opportunities for granted. Instead, I want to use them as motivation to keep moving forward and eventually give my family the stability they have worked so hard to provide for me.
I am not applying for this scholarship simply to help pay for college. I am applying because I want the opportunity to build a future that can change my family’s life. My dad gave me the strength to keep going, and my family gave me the reason to go further. Commercial real estate is the path I want to take to turn those lessons, sacrifices, and dreams into a future that my whole family can be proud of.
