Billie Eilish Fan Scholarship
My #1 song by Billie Eilish is 'listen before i go', as I deeply feel her pain and feelings through the speakers. I've been at a spot where I've felt like being gone would be the best option; when I hear the lyrics "I'll miss them, but I'm not sorry," are my favorite, as when I went through a tough time, I genuinely believed that although I love my family and friends, I wouldn't be able to live for them any longer.
My second favorite song by Billie is 'What Was I Made For?' This song appears in the movie Barbie, and as Barbie did, I've had moments where I lost myself; I don't understand what I should do with my life. The song explains with a calming tone that everything changed for her, and repetitively asks, "What was I made for?" Billie Eilish uses this song to express that everything changes and makes you overwhelmed and unsure of how you feel.
The third song that I love by the artist Billie Eilish is 'TV,' which illustrates depression in a vocal way, where she explains how she feels when someone important to her leaves her life. I relate to these lyrics profoundly and emotionally, as I've been at a rough patch when all I want is to watch TV, her lyrics state. She does a staggering job of describing the thoughts consuming the brain as you think about the person leaving you. She explains overthinking without ever mentioning it with her lyrics, "What about the plans we made?" Where she explains that she's thinking about every promise they had made to each other, which will now be broken.
