I could speak on how I came from nothing, the projects of the Sarasota/Bradenton FL area. From a broken home. 13, locked up which aspired me to Join Job Corps at 16, GED and Drywall I learned to poach and egg at the age of 7 in the cafeteria of Prime Elem. With 20 years of cooking experience and Several great manager positions. Goggle Roberto Morales-Zelehoski, Bismarck Chamber of Commerce, the height of my career so far, from then July 2017 to July 22, 2020, I caught alot of legal problems. It cost me my manager career, my freedom, but the worst. I lost my sense of purpose. July, 23 2020 I came home, out of jail probation problems again.The Owner of my job Dale Reidinger took a chance on me to cook. During this Covid pandemic, let me just work 60-80 hr a week .There a quote, it sticks in my head. I changed my thought patterns, the Criminal Mind had to go, to save my future. " DON'T ONLY PRACTICE YOUR ART, BUT FORCE YOU WAY INTO IT'S SECRETS, FOR IT AND KNOWLEDGE CAN RAISE MEN TO THE DIVINE"( Ludwig van Beethoven). It was now December 2020, pandemic setting it and I'm still working and home with still no real purpose. On July 1st, built up credit scores avg up 130 pts. Also that day.Started UOPX accelerated courses I currently doing plus core work, I'll be done with my Associates degree in April 2023. I'm not going to stop till I receive my M.B.A. With the experience and the Degrees I earning. I will go Corporate, work my 20, and ride to retirement. That's Divine I chasing. Markie Mark said he was proud to get his GED at 42, just saying.

Les Brown said once in his many motivational videos. " A lot of people say No to things that they don't even know what they are saying No to. Don't allow But to keep you in the corner. There are a lot of people who say that I tried once, or twice... and it didn't work out, and they used that as an excuse not to ever come out again. even if things don't work out, even if I experience defeat or failure. that does not make me a failure. It's a difference between failing and being a failure. If things don't work out, if you don't produce the results that you want, that's all. BUT DON'T CONFUSE WHO YOU ARE WITH THE RESULTS THAT YOU PRODUCE. Do what you can, with what you have, and never be satisfied. Don't get satisfied with yourself."( Les Brown https://www.facebook.com/Brown.Les) Those words have been the greatest motivation for my life and help me to stay true to myself, to live responsible, to be my 4 children's keeper. On paper, I've been judged by many, the way I talk, carry myself. I always tell people this. Don't judge me on things from my past, that I'm too old to return to college because I'm rocking it at the University of Pheonix. Judge me by the content of my character. Judge me on my moral compass. If I could tell all my other peers on Bold.org, it would be this. It's ok to dance to the beat of your own drum, it's ok that you have fallen, it is not ok to sit back and watch life just fly past you. Chasing my dreams is hard, but if I stay true to myself and never settle. I can have the world.
Bold Mentor Scholarship
As a 36 year old father of 4 returning to school. The knowledge and life lessons, and to be able to share it with my peers as well as someone I'm mentoring. The insight to building credit, life lessons, the important of the correct address on your driver's license. We all once have said I wish someone could of told me that when I was 18, maybe things would be different. I actually want to give back, and mentor others. Because I myself was part of the Big Brother/Big Sister program as a child. Melinda Thompson,(Executive Director of M.C.S.) a college student at the time and myself where part of the trial program for mixed gender Big Sister/ Little Brother. The impact this woman has had on my life, helped and threw knowledge since the age of 8. She once said I hope on day you can reach your true potential one day. To be able that after 18 years, to tell her I finally made it back to college. I know the words she expressed to me was amazing. I hope and wonder what feelings Melinda felt when I told her about school. That's what I hope to have when I mentor others. A lasting impact on someone's life. Took a long time for me, but to show young men and women how to do things the right way. I'd tell my peers that it's going to be hard, the hard way is usually the easiest way to do things. There will be days the we sit quietly at home and let a cry out. To just never give up on your dream. To help my peers reach for the stars and they tell me when they do. That's the impact I want.
Pandemic's Box Scholarship
July 22, 2020, I just bonded my self out of jail, and hopped on the bus from Bismarck, ND to Jamestown, ND with a trash ag full of clothes. I started a new job cooking after road construction work and got hurt. Thru this whole pandemic, I've made over $65,000, rebuilt my credit. Worked long hours to strive to start school July 1st, 2022. With the accelerated course and taking my core classes Thur the University of Phoenix. I will complete my Associates Degree in 10 months, and my Bachelor's starts in July 2022. To see friends and family, having to help wasn't a question. To be able to end my legal issues, rebuild my credit, return to College after 18years. It has been an amazing 13 1/2 months. To be able to help everyone financially and pay it forward like they did me in my time of need. It's an amazing feeling for sure. Another 2 years of my short term goals. During this Pandemic I made one choice, return to school and it has been the biggest blessing.
