Growing up in Annapolis, Maryland, aviation was always a source of inspiration for me. Every year, I watched in awe as the Blue Angels performed breathtaking maneuvers over the Severn River for the U.S. Naval Academy's Commissioning Week. The powerful roar of jet engines and the precision of those pilots left a lasting impression. I also looked forward to the flyovers at every Navy football game, where the sight of military aircraft soaring overhead ignited my passion for flying. These experiences instilled in me a deep admiration for aviation and set me on the path to becoming a pilot.
Pursuing the Certified Flight Instructor Instrument certification is the next step in solidifying my knowledge and advancing my career as a professional pilot. My ultimate goal is to fly for United Airlines, where I can combine my love of aviation with my passion for travel. The opportunity to explore new destinations, experience different cultures, and see the world from the cockpit is what drives me to excel in this field. I am eager to continue building my flight experience and developing the skills necessary to achieve this goal.
Beyond flying, I have also discovered a passion for teaching and inspiring others through flight instruction. Helping aspiring pilots gain confidence and master their skills is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy breaking down complex aviation concepts and watching students progress toward their own dreams of flight. Flight instruction allows me to give back to the aviation community by shaping the next generation of pilots, and I look forward to continuing this work throughout my career.
In addition to my aviation pursuits, I have been actively involved in leadership and community service. As part of Pi Kappa Alpha Gamma Epsilon, I played a key role in fraternity recruitment, organizing events that helped grow our chapter from 25 to 50 active members. I have volunteered at numerous tree plantings for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, working alongside other volunteers to plant over 1,000 trees at each event. I also contributed to humanitarian efforts through the Orphan Grain Train, helping sort food donations and prepare shipments for those in need. Most recently, I had the privilege of volunteering at Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine in 2024/2025 an unforgettable prom experience for individuals with special needs.
Giving back to both the aviation and broader community has been incredibly fulfilling, and I believe that leadership and service are essential qualities in any career. An aviation degree will not only enhance my technical expertise but also position me as a leader in the industry. I am eager to embark on this academic journey, continue making meaningful contributions to aviation, inspire future pilots through instruction, and work toward my dream of flying for United Airlines.
