My life's goals can be summed up with one word: "QUALITY".
There are many definitions of the word "quality" so I have presented three from Dictionary.com to illustrate my meaning as follows:
noun
character with respect to fineness, or grade of excellence:
food of poor quality; silks of fine quality.
high grade; superiority; excellence:
wood grain of quality.
adjective
marked by a concentrated expenditure of involvement, concern, or commitment:
Counselors are urging that working parents try to spend more quality time with their children.
I am passionate about quality in everything I do and am involved with such as buying a car to choosing to get an online Master of Science degree in Quality Assurance from California State University - Dominguez Hills in Carson CA.
I already passed the Certified Quality Engineer exam with the American Society for Quality which is known to be an advanced certificate and I think getting a master's in quality would complement both my chosen lifestyle and career.

Bold Legacy Scholarship
My legacy will be a history of embracing the concept of quality because it is the most logical thing for me to do.
There are three main areas I consider for continuous quality
improvement in my life. They are my physical body, people, and my job.
I am going to take care of my telomeres. Most people want to live well and long
without aging. Nobody lives forever but science has discovered how to slow and reverse the aging process to some extent.
Telomeres are the little caps on the end of each strand of DNA that control how your cells age. Every time your cells divide your telomeres get a bit shorter. Long telomeres
lead to better health. Shorter telomeres signal premature aging and adverse age-related
health conditions such as weakness, wrinkles, heart disease, cancer, hair loss, and
Alzheimer's Disease.
There are ways to lengthen telomeres including vitamins, minerals, sleep,
low-calorie diets, intense exercise, low-stress environments, and some herbs.
People are important as a quality consideration because they are
dealt with on a daily basis in and outside of work. In general, being polite and
pleasant is good but being agreeable, nice, helpful, and empathetic can also
be appreciated. I intend to promote quality and lead people by exhibiting examples of
high-quality economic successes in business. I could
coincidentally become a quality role model for others.
It is my long-term goal to be a quality director or vice president of quality assurance
for a mid-size company. I have some experience as a quality control inspector and
a quality control manager. I have been studying the job ads and have found that
a large proportion of them are looking for a skill set that matches an online master's
degree in quality assurance program at California State University - Dominguez Hills.
Bold Success Scholarship
My goals for the future revolve around the concept of quality and I plan on success
by trying.
I define the word "quality" as excellence.
I have adopted the concept of quality for my physical body including my cognitive
abilities, relationships with other people, and a career that is financial.
I am going to have my body live long and well by taking care of my telomers and
slowing the aging process. Telomers are protective caps on the ends of DNA.
Each time a cell divides it loses part of its telomers and they get shorter
exposing the DNA to further damage, aging and cell death. Nobody lives forever
but it has been shown that telomers can be replenished in multiple ways.
Some of the ways are: vitamins, minerals, low or no stress environments, and some
exercise, certain low-calorie diets like no carbohydrate diets, plenty of sleep,
and supplements and herbs.
My goal of good relations with other people is an ongoing successful endeavor.
I have found that being polite catches on, being helpful is welcome, being
agreeable is appreciated, and being a good listener is effective.
My career goal is to be a director or vice president of quality assurance for a mid-sized
company. I have some experience as a quality control manager for a small company
and passed the advanced Certified Quality Engineer Exam. I studied the job ads for
quality engineers, managers, and directors and discovered that a large proportion of
them are looking for the same skill set that is covered in an online master's
degree in Quality Assurance program at California State University - Dominguez Hills.
Bold Happiness Scholarship
I am happy when my plans work and I reach my goals.
At one time I had two goals. One was to get a college degree and the other
was to get a good-paying job in my field. I did graduate with a B.S. degree
in chemical engineering and was happy at that.
Unfortunately, I graduated in a recessionary period and there were no real good
employment opportunities so I took an hourly job in a small plating shop
(platers use chemicals). I was promoted to quality control manager six
months later and was happy again until I got laid off five years later.
Again I saw no suitable employment so I took another hourly job as a quality
control inspector and started studying quality through the American Society for quality.
About a year later I landed an engineering job for double the money and was
happy again. After five years I passed the certified quality engineer exam, and was happy,
but was laid off two months later.
This time it is different. I have a computer and an information superhighway called
the Internet. I found opportunities in the field of quality and have been studying them.
I also discovered that a large proportion of them are looking for a skill set that matches
an online Master's degree in the Quality Assurance program at California State University - Dominguez Hills.
My new long term goal is to be a director or vice president of quality assurance for a mid-size company and getting my master's would be a step in the right direction. My short-term plan is to get scholarships to finance my degree.
Bold Science Matters Scholarship
My favorite scientific discovery is the discovery of telomerase because
that discovery significantly enhanced the length and quality of human life.
Telomers are caps on the ends of DNA that protect it from decaying
when cells divide but are partially destroyed when this happens.
Telomerase is an enzyme that repairs telomeres. This research
won a Nobel prize in 2009.
When this degradation occurs the telomeres get shorter exposing the DNA
to damage causing aging. One research study found that short telomeres
are linked to a 300% increased rate of death from heart disease.
More research showed that stimulating telomerase produces support
for the body’s natural functions including:
Strength, Speed, Mental sharpness, Memory, Reflexes, Appearance,
Blood pressure, Heart health, Vision, Immune system,
Mood
There is more good news about telomerase stimulation. Most of the actions and supplements necessary are relatively simple or inexpensive. Certain healthy low or
no carbohydrate diets, good sleep, low-stress environments, some exercise, and
some herbs all help to stimulate telomerase production.
Bold Goals Scholarship
150 - 300 words
Please tell us about your goals for the future.
My goals for the future are many and all involve quality.
Dictionary.com gives some definitions of the word "quality" as follows: "quality" as follows:
"noun
character with respect to fineness, or grade of excellence
high grade; superiority; excellence
One goal is to live as long and well as is reasonably possible with quality. Living
forever is unknown but science has progressed to the point that it is possible to
slow the aging process and some of its debilatating effects thus increasing
the quality of life.
This is done by keeping the telomeres long. Telomers are caps on the ends of the DNA
that protect the DNA from wear and tear. The wear and tear shortens the telomers,
exposes the DNA to damage, and hurts organs like the heart, lungs, brain, and skin
causing aging. Good quality exercises, diets, low stress environments, sleep, and
some herbs keep the telomeres long and makes them longer thus retarding the aging process.
Another goal I have is to become a director or vice president of quality assurance for a
mid-size company.. I do have a B.S. degree in chemical engineering which has not been
marketable.I also have some experience as a quality control inspector and was a quality
control manager for a small company for five years. I also studied quality through
the American Society for Quality and became a certified quality engineer.
Lately, I have been studying the online job ads for quality engineers, managers, and directors and
discovered that a large proportion of them are looking for the same skill set that is
covered in an online master's degree in Quality Assurance program at California
State University - Dominguez Hills.
Bold Motivation Scholarship
Quality motivates me on a daily basis.
Dictionary.com states several definitions of quality as follows:
"noun
character with respect to fineness, or grade of excellence:
food of poor quality; silks of fine quality.
high grade; superiority; excellence:
wood grain of quality.
adjective
of or having superior quality:
quality paper.
producing or providing products or services of high quality or merit:
a quality publisher."
I like the concept of quality and get as much of it as I can. It motivates me to
perform positive actions.
Here are some examples of quality motivations:
quality of life as in ageing: It has been proven that having a good diet, some exercise,
and low stress lifestyles allow people to live longer and better.
quality of manufacturing, selling: Quality assurance and control say that nobody wants
a new car that will not start.
quality for possessions, buying: Search Consumer Reports for new cars that start.
quality of socializing with friends and relatives: Take a look at fatality rates of those who
talk or text while driving a car.
quality education: People with a college degree or skill usually make more money than
those who do not.
quality employment: Quality employment can be briefly described as high paying, productive, and with low or no stress.
Bold Reflection Scholarship
My adult life has been a bummer with employment which an advanced degree should remedy.
When I first got out of college there were not many good opportunities for a new grad
chemical engineer so I changed my attitude and worked temporary and contract jobs
for a few years. Then I got on a government work program and got an hourly production
job in a small plating shop (platers use chemicals). After six months there I got promoted
to quality control manager and was laid off five years later.
Again there were few opportunities so I joined a contract engineering co-op of engineers
as a technical director where I learned marketing, recruitment, and sales for four years.
After that I took an hourly job as a quality inspector and started studying quality on
my own, (without a school) through the American Society for Quality. After a year I
was able to land a metal finishing job for double the money with a company that could
use both my plating (metal finishing) and quality experiences. I continued studying
quality and passed the certified quality technician and advanced quality engineer exams.
Again there was no economic demand so I tried my own business for a while. It did not
work out so I went back to contract arrangements until I found things changed and I found
lots of ads on Internet job boards like Indeed.com and Linkedin .com.
I have been studying the job ads for quality engineers, managers, and directors and
discovered that a large proportion of them are looking for the same skill set that is
that is covered in a master's degree in Quality Assurance program at California
State University - Dominguez Hills.
My goal now is to be a director or vice president of a mid-sized company.
Bold Empathy Scholarship
I make sure I treat others with empathy by thinking about quality as one of my lifelong goals.
Some definitions of the word "quality" are given by Dictionary.com as follows:
"noun
character with respect to fineness, or grade of excellence:
food of poor quality; silks of fine quality.
high grade; superiority; excellence:
wood grain of quality.
adjective
of or having superior quality:
quality paper.
producing or providing products or services of high quality or merit:
a quality publisher."
Quality is something I want to get and use all that I possibly can.
Personally, I had to get a car. Instead of viewing TV and newspaper ads featuring sporty, rugged, adventurous,
and speedy I went to the library and searched Consumer Reports for safety, dependability, reliablity, and good gas
mileage. I found what I was looking for plus it was stylish and speedy. Sometime later someone asked me
about getting a new car and I recommended doing what I did. It was like being a role model.
Showing empathy for others helps reduce stress which also helps people live longer and better with quality.
Bold Fuel Your Life Scholarship
Quality fuels my life.
Wherever I go and whatever I do I try to get or use as much of it as I can.

quality engineer test. I was laid off after five years.
I have been studying the job ads for quality engineers, managers, and directors and
discovered that a large proportion of them are looking for the same skill set that is
that is covered in an online master's degree in Quality Assurance program at California

Bold Persistence Scholarship
I used persistence to overcome a tough job market.
Dictionary.com defines the word "persistent" as follows:
"adjective
persisting, especially in spite of opposition, obstacles, discouragement, etc.; persevering:
a most annoyingly persistent young man.
lasting or enduring tenaciously:
the persistent aroma of verbena; a persistent cough.
constantly repeated; continued:
persistent noise."
When I first got out of college there were not many good opportunities for a new grad
chemical engineer so I changed my attitude and worked temporary and contract jobs
for a few years. Then I got on a government work program and got an hourly production
job in a small plating shop (platers use chemicals). After six months there I got promoted

was able to land a metal finishing job for double the money with a company that could
use both my plating (metal finishing) and quality experiences. I continued studying
quality, passed the certified quality technician exam, and then got an advanced
standing as a certified quality engineer.
Bold Optimist Scholarship
I have stayed optimistic through tough times by changing my attitude and studying quality.
The word "optimistic" is defined by Dictionary.com as follows:
"disposed to take a favorable view of events or conditions and to expect the most
favorable outcome
reflecting a favorable view of events and conditions and the expectation of a positive
outcome; demonstrating optimism:
an optimistic plan
of or relating to optimism"
The dictionary also defines attitude:
"disposed to take a favorable view of events or conditions and to expect the most
favorable outcome
reflecting a favorable view of events and conditions and the expectation of a positive
outcome; demonstrating optimism
optimistic plan
of or relating to optimism"
There were no good opportunities for a new graduate chemical engineer so I got one
through a government work program in a small plating shop and got promoted to quality
control manager but got laid off after five years.
Jobs were scarce so I changed my attitude and took an hourly job as a quality inspector
and started studying quality on my own through the American Society for Quality. After a
year I was able to land a metal finishing job for double the money with a company that
could use both my plating and quality experiences. I continued studying quality and passed the certified quality technician and engineer exams and then got aid off.
Again there were few reasonable opportunities so I changed my attitude and
found lots of ads on Internet job boards like Indeed.com and Linkedin .com.
I studied the job ads for quality engineers, managers, and directors and
discovered that a large proportion of them are looking for the same skill set that is
that is covered in a master's degree in Quality Assurance program at California

Bold Talent Scholarship
My talents are all mental and Dictionary.com has many definitions of the word "talent".
The definitions that I relate to are presented as follows:
"a special natural ability or aptitude:
a capacity for achievement or success; ability:
a power of mind or body considered as given to a person for use and improvement"
I have adopted a philosophy of studying everything I am involved with including a
special emphasis on quality.
I also relate to Dictionary.com's definitions of the word "quality":
"noun
character with respect to fineness, or grade of excellence
high grade; superiority; excellence
adjective
of or having superior quality
producing or providing products or services of high quality or merit"
Studying is a skill and the best way to practice it is to do it in a way that can be measured.
I intend to promote it by leading people and to do that by exhibiting examples of high-quality ethical economic successes in business. In other words, I can be a quality role
model for others.
I have already begun implementing quality in both my personal life and career by studying. For example, I leased a car. Instead of looking at newspaper and TV ads, I went to the library, studied Consumer Reports, and found a suitable car. I was very pleased
with that car. Sometime later somebody asked me about buying a car and I recommended doing what I did.
My career goal is to be a director or vice president of quality assurance for a mid-sized
company. I passed the Certified Quality Engineer exam with the American Society for
Quality, which is known to be an advanced certificate, and I think getting an online master's degree in quality assurance from California State University - Dominguez Hills
would complement both my chosen lifestyle and career.
