I would laugh off these jokes at the time. I feared showing signs of weakness or fear to my bullies because I was told that this makes me more of a target. The jokes that they would say to me affected me immensely at the time but this moment in my life was much needed because it shaped me to not care about what others may think of me which is a fundamental characteristic for this person day of social media where people are made free to emphasize and project their insecurities onto others. My parents came to this country having to start from scratch without being too familiar with how to obtain funds and move into a country so complex. Even though being raised by two African parents who did not know too much about the ins and outs of life in America, served as a challenge to me because this taught me what it is like to start from the bottom and work your way up. Nothing was ever handed to me as a child simply due to the fact that my parents did not have much to give. Imagine locking yourself in a room and cutting social contact from all friends and family to read a book that was banned in prisons due to its known intellectual concepts of power by utilizing tactics of deception, manipulation, and expertise. For a week straight this is what I did as I stayed away from social media to read and underrated what the hype around this book was about. Before reading I made a pact to myself that I would not utilize any of these laws to deceive people but I would instead read the book to gain more of an understanding of human nature and the historic examples that have created these laws. This book was called the 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene and it is by the far the most inspiring book I have read. This book details the important steps needed to gain, observe, and defend against the ultimate control of human nature. I recommend this book to my peers and family members as it has changed my perspective on how to carry yourself as an individual. The book not only assists the reader in gaining knowledge and control over one's emotions but it also assists the reader in becoming more powerful by understanding the concepts behind each law. The laws mentioned in this book are packaged with mind-blowing stories of people in history practicing these laws as they give an example that these concepts can be performed and understood. The law that impacted me the most is Law number 6, "Always say less than necessary". From reading this chapter of the book I learned that our words can always be used against of and that it is better to under-share than over-share. This has also given me a less is more perspective as I strive to speak about only what is asked of me and nothing more. The book does have a scary aura around it as it starts off by giving the reader several warnings before trying to attempt these laws of power by stating "A man who plays with snakes will eventually be bitten" which means if any of the 48 laws are used improperly, you can put yourself at risk and get into dangerous situations. This book is inspiring to me because not just anyone can read it and understand it as reading this book requires immense patience to comprehend and practice the teachings being displayed. Over time with the grace of God I was able to stop caring about what people thought about me and would instead use what people said about me as motivation. I am very blessed that this situation has happened because it has drawn me closer to God ever since and has taught me that he does indeed answer prayers and is looking after me.

Having thousands of dollars in student loans and not having a sustainable enough plan to cover the cost can be a very stressful situation to be in. Most college students have to live their life after college with the burden of paying off their student loans which can be a troublesome undertaking depending on their payment plan and interest rate on the loan. Over my three years spent at Towson University, I have accrued a huge amount of student loan debt in federal loans. Thankfully I have established multiple plans to take care of my student loans in the near future before they accrue interest. I anticipate addressing my student loan debt by applying for as many scholarships and grants as possible to give myself a better chance of receiving funds to go towards my schooling expenses and necessities to go into my preferred career. These necessities include taking courses that will grant me certifications, going to graduate to school to earn my master's degree in cybersecurity, and going to seminars where I can network and gain knowledge and inspiration from people who are already in the cyber security field. I believe scholarships are very helpful because they allow students another resource/option for paying off educational costs. I will also utilize my education to assist me in receiving a job in the cyber security field before graduation as having a job will put me in the right direction financially to pay off these loans. Throughout my college career I have been involved deeply in Information Security by joining Security clubs and going to Cybersecurity events at my school at Towson University located in Baltimore Maryland. I am currently furthering my skills in Information Security by taking courses that pertain to this topic, studying for certifications pertaining to the Information Security and pursing Security Internships and jobs. In July of 2021 I was blessed to have received my CompTia Security Plus certification that validates the necessary skills needed to perform security function and pursue a career in the Security field. I have now set a goal for myself to study over the summer of 2022 and prepare for the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) exam in which if obtained the next step will be to obtain the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification. I currently obtain a Cybersecurity System Administration role in which my day to day activities consist of deprovisioning and provisioning access to users, managing the company Infrastructure, managing functions in Active Directory, and utilize prompts in the command line to give users access to shared drives. I am very eager to capitalize on this experience and take my Cybersecurity career to the next level take my Cybersecurity experience to the next level and pursue other roles and opportunities. I believe having a passion in what you do is very essential and it will project you to perform at a high level in your desired field of study. I have a huge thirst of knowledge and am eager to learn everything pertaining to Information Security as I would love to one day teach a course and prepare students to take various security exams such as the CompTIA security plus certification. Having a thirst of knowledge is also essential in detecting new way to stop cyber criminals from employing new attack methods and tools to hack into systems and networks. Being raised by two African parents who fled their country in their later years of adulthood to come to America and pursue the American Dream of prosperity and success by reaping its many opportunities can be a rather stressful situation to be put in. My parents came to this country having to start from scratch without being too familiar with how to obtain funds and move in a country so complex. Even though being raised by two African parents who did not know too much about the ins and outs about life in America, it served as a challenge to me because this taught me what it is like to start from the bottom and work your way up. Nothing was ever handed to me as a child simply due to the fact that my parents did not have much to give. However, the fact that they sacrificed their lives to escape brutality and the treacherous economy in their countries to come to the United States and ensure a better lifestyle for myself and my siblings was enough for me. This situation has taught me what it is like to be put into a situation where success is not likely but instead of complaining I chose to take the optimistic approach and am currently taking the necessary steps to set myself up and the people around me to obtain their idea of success. I am very fortunate to have parents that have sacrificed their lives to create a better and safer life for my siblings and I and I will work to not let this act of service go unnoticed. I will strive to make my parents proud of me and proud of their unselfish decision. This story has also motivated me to become the man that my dad has preached to me about all my life. I will strive to become successful and create generational wealth for myself and my family to come. Living through this experience adds to my motivation and makes me even hungrier to achieve the level of greatness that I have set out for myself. As a young high schooler who got to hear some of these homeless people's stories it broadened my eyes and has led me to grow a connection with these people knowing that they are humans just like I am and deserve to be treated as such. They also gave me some compelling advice that has taught me how to maneuver in life and also how to manage money wisely. I am very thankful for this experience. To avoid this, we all should learn a sense of acceptance and understand that there is no such thing as a "perfect person" and furthermore comprehend the fact that we all do not talk the same, look the same, or have the same skin color, and have similar objectives. In a regular school semester, there are projects, group assignments, homework, classwork, presentations, and exams. Each of these gives the students different methods to understand and do research on a specific topic which is very helpful especially when a term or subject may be intricate. The greatest way education has assisted me is with interview preparation. In order to find a successful job in any field, you must understand what you are doing and this is where interviews come into play because they gauge if a candidate knows their stuff and is qualified to take on the desired job role. The education I have received from school has tremendously assisted me with answering the questions I was asked in my interview as most of the questions asked were the topics covered in my classes. Without education and legitimate discipline, I would not be able to respond to these questions thoroughly and it may affect whether I received the proposition for employment. Education has helped me in so many ways and has built my confidence in having conversations with other people who specialize in the field of cybersecurity because I know that I have the legitimate information to assist and be a contribution to any job or project. I'm exceptionally appreciative and fortunate to say this.

I enjoyed this role because I could tell that I was making school a positive and better place for these kids. I am blessed to say that I have not let these obstacles face me and have instead utilized them to motivate me and enhance my efforts. One of the biggest obstacles that I had to overcome was lacking self-confidence. For all of my middle school and high school career, I was constantly harassed and ridiculed by the people I believed were my friends at the time. I was bullied for being African, having a gap in my teeth, not being fluent in English, and for having a speech impediment. My bullies would refer to me as an "African booty scratcher", would call me revolting names, and would mock me whenever I answered a question in class or spoke aloud. I would laugh off these jokes at the time because I feared showing signs of weakness or fear to my bullies because I was told that this makes you more of a target. The jokes that they would say to me affected me immensely at the time but this moment in my life was much needed because it has shaped me to not care about what others may think of me which is a fundamental characteristic for this person day of social media where people are made free to emphasize and project their insecurities onto others. Another hurdle that I had to overcome at a young age is growing up with a speech impediment. I have a lisp when pronouncing certain syllables and I likewise have a tendency to stammer and pause in between words and sentences. At first, I used to refrain from conversing with people as I would attempt to hide this feature from them. What made this situation worse is when people would constantly mock me and make ridicule me after realizing it. However, after a while, I started to embrace my speech impediment as it makes me unique. Now when I am mocked it has little to no effect on me because I have learned to not let other people's negative perspectives or opinions of me hold any weight in my life. Getting past these hardships is the key factor in why I am a disciplined individual who has dreams of delving into the field of Cybersecurity after graduating from the illustrious Towson University where I major in Information Technology. I understand what it's like to be on the bottom, feel depressed, and to not have the most confidence in one's self and abilities. I have utilized my past to motivate me into becoming the successful leader and role model that I aspire to be. I also use this to encourage my peers who may be in a similar situation as I once was and advise them to not let the words of others affect them and that any accolade is achievable as long as they put a plan in place to work towards it.

A healthy lifestyle is vital to me because positive well-being is the key to happiness which in route can be the key to success. A healthy lifestyle is essential in ensuring a positive mindset and all-around uplifting vibes. Studies have proven that those who maintain a healthy lifestyle grow to live longer lives than those who do not because a healthy lifestyle leads to an improvement of equilibrium and lowers an individual's risk of contracting any disease. I attend Towson University in Baltimore Maryland where I model and partake in extracurricular athletic activities. A healthy lifestyle is extremely important to me because it keeps my mental health sane and also ensures a positive mindset for myself. Being in shape and practicing good eating habits alone improves a lot of features in an individual because it helps with discipline, and confidence, and in most cases it will make you feel and look better/younger. My day seems to always start off bright whenever I leave the gym in the morning because it grants me a feel-good mentality of knowing that I was disciplined enough to sleep early the night before, wake up on time, and go to the gym and put in solid work. However living a healthy lifestyle is not limited to eating right or being in the gym but also consists of being happy, and being in the right headspace. Unfortunately living a healthy and happy lifestyle is not always universal as some of us may have a lot going on in our lives where we are put in certain circumstances that may affect our happiness. However, I understand that most people would prefer to live a healthy lifestyle rather than a lifestyle full of sadness, unwholesomeness, and unhealthiness.

I have been an active leader in my community in multiple ways. Throughout my time at Towson University I have been put in a wide range of circumstances in which I was entrusted with being a leader and over time have served as a role model to my companions, colleagues, and family. In 2021, during my fall semester of college, I was blessed to have been elected Captain of the ADC (African Diaspora Club) modeling team at Towson University. As modeling captain, I was tasked with taking on the responsibility of coaching a fairly new team of male and female models who aspire to take modeling seriously and further their modeling careers. This experience has assisted me tremendously because it has taken me out of my usual range of familiarity and has taught me what being a leader is truly about. In this role, I was responsible for overseeing and scheduling practices, providing critiques to each model, being the creative director for scenes in the show, and monitoring the advancement of each model. Throughout my college career, I have also worked to create and advise on job opportunities for my fellow colleagues and companies by ensuring that they take the necessary strides in putting themselves in the best position to be successful after college. These vital advances include ensuring that they apply to as many scholarships as possible, have their resumes edited and updated, create LinkedIn accounts and ensure that they are effectively applying to internship positions and occupations in their particular fields. Another way I believe I have been an active leader in my community is by leading by example and becoming an inspiration to my fellow colleagues by continuously investing more time and effort than needed and ensuring that everyone around me is also on point with their studies and daily errands. Maintaining a positive and optimistic mindset is exceptionally fundamental in being a great leader because it shows others that you are poise and will not fold under pressure when times get rough. I believe that I display this mindset because I never fail to encourage my peers and acknowledge their efforts whenever I see them accomplishing something beneficial. In times of hardships, I also endeavor to keep a half-full glass mindset by considering all positives of a situation rather than the negatives. I understand that actions out of anger cannot be undone so I inform my peers of this and try my best to calm them down or talk a situation out with them before the circumstance deteriorates.

My name is Richard Orisaya and my reasoning for majoring in the Information Technology realm with an attention on Cybersecurity is to impact the world and make it a superior place for consumers, companies, politicians, and influencers. I am currently a college junior attending Towson University in Baltimore Maryland, expected to graduate in Spring, 2023. Having advanced knowledge in the utilization of SQL databases to construct and manage data and have had experience with utilizing Active Directory, Command prompt, and provisioning and deprovisioning the access of other admins. I also obtain Security Plus and Splunk Fundamental certifications and am looking forward to going into the fields of Cybersecurity and Database Administration. I see myself utilizing my education to instill an improvement in the realm of Cyber Security by incorporating and constructing different mechanisms to prevent fraud, theft, and the assortment of intellectual property. Cybersecurity is of huge importance as it safeguards all individuals and all categories of data from damage and burglary. In the extended period of 2022 both residual and inherent risk are increasing in our society with the widespread of poor configurations and cloud services. To expose and restrict these weaknesses I would place an accentuation on all job positions regardless of what field, to require all representatives to take a cybersecurity awareness training so that they are prone to scoping out threats and have the ability to respond in specific circumstances. Knowing this I want to also create a mentorship program for college students to give them access to hands-on training in their desired field of tech and also grant them credible opportunities, training, and skill sets to add to their resume and assist them with becoming the best candidate possible for the desired job position. The subject of technology is something that I am very passionate about and I am beyond motivated to create a better world for cyberspace in the near future.

My major goals for the future are to graduate college with a 3.8 GPA or higher and to also maintain a full-time occupation in the field of either Cybersecurity or Database Administration before I graduate in the year 2023. I am currently on the verge of acquiring as much job experience as possible to build up my resume and possibly be open to more job positions in the future. I have three semesters left at the University of Towson and I will endeavor to accomplish the highest grade point average possible to achieve my goal of receiving a 3.8 GPA. I am someone who attains a competitive mindset and loves to take on challenges in which I will turn into becoming the best public figure that I can be. The two objectives expressed earlier are short-term goals that I desire to acquire by the time I leave college but my long-term goal is to obtain financial freedom over the next couple of years after graduation. I intend to accomplish this objective by seeking more accreditations, more deeply studying digital currency, and adding multiple streams of income to my repertoire. I know that if I maintain the same competitive and optimistic mindset that I have now, I will have no problem achieving these goals.

The most inspiring book I read was 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene. This book details the important steps needed to gain, observe, and defend against the ultimate control of human nature. I recommend this book to my peers and family members as it has changed my perspective on human life and nature. The book not only assists the reader in gaining knowledge and control over one's emotions but it also assists the reader in becoming more powerful by understanding the concepts behind each law. The laws mentioned in this book are packaged with mind-blowing stories of people in history practicing these laws as they give an example that these concepts can be performed and understood. However, the book does give the reader several warnings before trying to attempt these laws of power by stating "A man who plays with snakes will eventually be bitten" which means if any of the 48 laws are used improperly, you can put yourself at risk and get into dangerous situations. This book is inspiring to me because not just anyone can read it and understand it as reading this book requires immense patience to comprehend and practice the teachings being displayed. If you desire to obtain more power and realize why certain situations turn out the way that they do then the book 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene is the book for you.

I stay consistent with myself in my regular routine by doing the things that make me cheerful and also assist me with my pursuit of becoming the public figure that I one day aspire to become. I try to stay away from peer pressure, avoid trying to fit into the social norm, and avoid comparing my lifestyle to the lifestyle of others. I understand that comparison is the thief of all joy as attempting to compare yourself with others will only make your life more miserable in light of the fact that everybody's destiny in life is unique. I have defined objectives for myself that I believe are tailored to my thinking and the manner in which I would like to model myself after. I likewise stay in my own lane and take on the activities that feel are in my range of comfort such as modeling, playing basketball, Cybersecurity related activities, going to the gym, and reading scientific novels. I make an effort to not let the opinions of others deter me from doing the things I like to do and instead look at my time here on earth to stay grounded in who I am as a person.

My favorite method for assisting other people is by doing the necessary things needed to guarantee great psychological well-being in my companions, family, and friends. I have been placed in numerous adverse situations in my life that will forever change my perspective on society. These situations include being ridiculed in school because I had a gap and a lisp, seeing my friends and family's passing at a youthful age, and having to overcome a large period of stress and anxiety. However, none of these adverse moments surpass the level of adversity I was placed in four months ago. As an uprising Junior majoring in Information Technology at Towson University, I understand that it is essential to think and plan for the near future. Being that I want to acquire a career in the Cyber Security Field, I made it my central goal to obtain a Security Plus certification by passing the CompTIA Security Plus Exam by the end of the summer. This is an exam that emphasizes the fundamental components that go into Cyber Security such as the detection of intrusions, the conduction of penetrating and vulnerability testing, the identification of threats, and much more. Receiving this certification would be the one accomplishment that would nearly ensure my lifetime objectives of living financially free and having the option to retire at an early age. Leading up to the test I invested about 2 months preparing for the exam by studying with my instructor, taking practice tests, and memorizing key terms, abbreviations, and port numbers. On June 17th of 2021, I took the exam for the first time and failed miserably with a score of 481 out of 900. Subsequent to failing, I was too embarrassed to tell my loved ones that I failed, but after hearing some encouraging words from my instructor, I was able to calm down and get my mind right to take the exam once more. Following a strong two weeks of learning new terminology and watching youtube videos regarding the subject, I was ready to take the exam again. On June 29th, I was able to take the exam again and failed it with a score of 655. Words couldn't portray the aggravation I felt that day as I started to ask myself questions like "Why me?" while constantly telling myself I wasn't worthy. Prior to this, I didn't tell my parents that I failed the first time and I sure wasn't going to tell them that I failed again because I didn't want them to feel discouraged. I then decided to take a one-week break and resumed studying the following week. Subsequent to continuing, I decided to change my entire studying pattern by zeroing in on all the topics I saw on the prior exams and focused on the topics I did not thoroughly comprehend. Finally on June 13th, 2021, I was able to pass the exam with a score of 771. The lesson that this taught me was to never be discouraged and to fight through adversity regardless of how much you may be struggling or how many times you fail. This has encouraged me to obtain a half-full mindset instead of half-empty and that anything is possible if you put your mind to it."There's always light at the end of the tunnel!"
