I am 24 and was recently diagnosed with PTSD. I endured multiple traumas and those events repeated until the development of psychosomatic symptoms so severe, I fear some days I won't achieve my dream of becoming a trauma therapist. Being so young and with PTSD, with psychogenic seizures, vomit, lose sleep, etc. My goals and dreams entail acquiring my phD, to work clinical and within the research field. I'd like to open my own clinic for trauma, with more than just cognitive and behavioral therapy. Sometimes, a persons catharsis isn't talking or reenacting. I believe after all I've endured, the immense effort I put forth, and the struggle of living on my own at 16, all the while working through therapy, learning to love myself in the hopes I may inspire even just one soul in the world. I want to show the world patience, kindness, compassion, and to work with humans that have been thrown aside or judged so harshly. I want to be the crazy woman who is crazy enough to change the world.
