I understand that many people are searching for stable and meaningful careers, and I want to help provide guidance and opportunities for those looking to learn a skilled trade. My goal is not only to succeed professionally, but also to give back by helping others discover their talents, build confidence, and create better futures for themselves through technical education and hands-on training.

Pursuing a career in the trades was a natural path for me because I have always enjoyed working with my hands, solving problems, and learning how things work. I became interested in electrical and electronics work because it combines technical skill, patience, and creativity. Over the last 17 years, I have gained experience as an Electrical Technician specializing in soldering and PCB repair. This career has allowed me to build confidence, support my family, and develop skills that are valuable in today’s workforce. I chose the trades because they provide opportunities for people from many different backgrounds to build stable and successful careers without following a traditional path. Skilled trades are essential to everyday life, yet they are often overlooked. I believe there should be more support and educational opportunities for people who want to enter technical careers, especially adults seeking a second chance or career change. Currently, I am continuing my education at Dorsey College in the Electrical Technician program, where I plan to graduate in Fall 2026. Returning to school while balancing work and personal responsibilities has strengthened my determination and reminded me that growth and education can happen at any stage in life. One social cause I deeply care about is workforce development and career education for underserved communities. Many people want better opportunities but may not have access to affordable training, guidance, or mentorship. I especially care about helping individuals who are trying to rebuild their lives, support their families, or transition into stable careers. Skilled trades can provide financial independence, confidence, and long-term opportunities for people who may feel overlooked by traditional career paths. My long-term goal is to create a training program for electrical and electronics education that helps people gain practical, hands-on skills for employment. I want to create an environment where people feel encouraged, supported, and capable of succeeding. By sharing my knowledge and experience, I hope to inspire others to believe in themselves and pursue meaningful careers in the trades. Receiving this scholarship would help me continue my education, achieve my goals, and eventually give back to my community by helping others create better futures for themselves through technical education and skilled trades training.
