When you live with chronic pain, it brings a new difficulty to staying healthy. I have made so many fitness plans and schedules that I could not stick to because of how much pain I was in. Exercise, a healthy diet, and meditation. That is the first thing you are told if you have chronic pain. "It is imperative that you live a healthy lifestyle." How is that possible when all it seems as you can do, is lay in bed?
I am still trying and experimenting to find the answer to this question. How do I stay healthy when it is so hard? the first thing that I believe is helpful is to have a routine, but if I cannot keep the original plan, adjustments are possible. I may not be able to take a long walk every day, but I can take shorter ones. I have learned that I should not push myself past my limits. My limits are there for a reason, and slowly my limits change.
A healthy lifestyle is essential to me because I want to live life to the fullest. I want to live for as long as possible in the best possible way. Every day is different, and adjustments must be made, but that does not mean I should quit.
