Aloha,
My name is Rebecca Canevali, and I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Project Management and Sustainability. My goal is to lead initiatives that promote environmental justice, sustainable agriculture, and ethical business practices. I aspire to build a career that blends strategy with purpose—improving systems while protecting communities and the planet.
I’m also a passionate writer working on my first fantasy novel, which draws from my multicultural upbringing and Hawaiian ancestry. Storytelling is deeply personal for me—it’s a way to preserve cultural identity and inspire transformation through imagination.
In my current role, I lead a sustainability pilot project at Amazon, replacing plastic wrap with biodegradable alternatives. I’ve also helped design a mental health garden at my site, blending wellness and environmental care. These projects reflect my drive to create meaningful change from the ground up.
Growing up on the Big Island of Hawai‘i shaped my values of community, balance, and stewardship. My part-Hawaiian heritage taught me to honor the interconnectedness of all life—lessons I carry into both my academic and professional work.

Aloha, my name is Rebecca Canevali, Becca for short, and I’m a nontraditional college student and recently inducted member of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management and Sustainability. As a woman of part-Hawaiian descent, raised on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi and now living in Tennessee, I’ve grown up with a deep respect for the land, community, and cultural identity. These values have shaped both my personal worldview and professional aspirations. I’m passionate about building a career that blends strategic leadership with environmental stewardship—leading initiatives that promote environmental justice, regenerative agriculture, and ethical business practices. My goal is to not only improve broken systems but also uplift underserved communities and protect the planet for future generations.
I’m passionate about leadership because I believe it’s a powerful tool for creating positive change, especially when it’s grounded in empathy, integrity, and vision. Leadership isn’t just about directing others—it’s about listening, inspiring, and empowering people to grow into their full potential. For me, it’s deeply personal. As someone with a multicultural background and firsthand experience navigating both systemic and workplace challenges, I’ve learned that leadership is most impactful when it centers equity, collaboration, and understanding.
Recently, I led a sustainability pilot project at my Amazon site focused on replacing traditional single-use plastic shrink-wrap with an eco-friendly alternative. This initiative began when I noticed how much single-use plastic was being wasted in the warehouse. Rather than simply raising the issue, I researched eco-friendly alternatives, outlined a cost-benefit analysis, and presented a proposal to management. I partnered with a fellow ship clerk to conduct on-site testing and gather performance data. Although this project is still in the works, it has sparked meaningful conversations across departments about environmental accountability. Before this, I successfully initiated and completed a signage project that addressed a communication barrier within the warehouse.
I plan to lead by example, through demonstrating consistency, compassion, and vision in everything I do. I believe in recognizing individual strengths, fostering open communication, and creating environments where people feel safe to take risks and innovate. Whether mentoring peers, leading sustainability efforts, or collaborating across teams, I strive to be the kind of leader who uplifts others and builds collective momentum toward meaningful goals.
Thank you for your consideration!
