Hi! I have dreamed of doing cosmetology since I was 2 years old! It is my passion to make people feel beautiful in their own skin and comfortable with themselves. Ever since I was super little, my dream in life has been to pursue cosmetology. My goal is to help people feel empowered and worthy. As a cosmetologist, I would have the opportunity to do so. I have strived towards this goal since I was a little girl. I used to tell my family that I was going to be a "haircut teacher". With a higher education, I would be able to learn more complex practices and, possibly, start my own salon business. It has been my dream to attend cosmetology school, but as a pastor's kid, it has been difficult to afford such schools. I have worked very hard throughout my schooling to maintain a high GPA and continue to participate in extracurriculars. I graduated this year from Colorado Springs Christian School. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA and have participated in many extracurriculars: theatre, special needs teaching, student council, etc. I have grown up as a pastor's kid all my life and have grown up helping with anything and everything around my church. I have interned under hairstylists and makeup artists, and have taken any opportunity to learn more about what I want to do. Receiving a scholarship would aid me in making my dreams come true and help many feel confident in their own skin. It would truly be a honor and a dream come true to receive a scholarship! Bold Optimist Scholarship
As a sister of someone with Down syndrome and Autism, I believe in the importance of kindness and positivity. Helping others feel seen and worthy is a very big value in my life. My brother and I do everything together, and I help show him how to be kind and positive to everyone we meet. Having a disability, people can be very offensive and unkind to my brother. We have gone through bullying and many trials involving peers. Although, through watching me and my family, he has learned his value and has found confidence in himself. Positivity really does make life more enjoyable. It is important to demonstrate good values and attitudes because even though you may not think you have any impact, there is always someone who is looking up to you. I hope that through my actions and time spent with my little brother, he continues to spread joy and kindness to everyone. You never know what a little kindness can do in someone's life. It can really make a huge difference in you and those around you. It would truly be a honor and a dream come true to receive this scholarship! Thank you so much for your time:)
Bold Financial Literacy Scholarship
Pursuing your passion can be expensive and takes a lot of sacrifice and dedication. It has been my dream to attend cosmetology school, but as a pastor's kid, it has been difficult to afford such schools. To strive towards my goal, I have been working since I was 14 years old to afford schooling. I work as often as I can, saving up my paychecks, so I can pursue my passion. I have worked very hard throughout my schooling to maintain a high GPA and continue to participate in extracurriculars. I have made many sacrifices and have fervently worked countless days in order to save up for schooling. My biggest lesson I have learned is the importance of persistence and saving. Saving up money can be hard, but if you continue to sacrifice and be persistent, you can accomplish anything. I have been in love with cosmetology since I was a little girl. I used to tell my family that I was going to be a "haircut teacher".
