Bio

My educational goals consist of graduating high school with formidable grades, getting into a challenging arts school, and with the upcoming years focusing on bringing BFA in the performing arts. I would later want to go back to school for a degree in business. While working towards my goals, I also wish to expand my knowledge on the culture and find where I can contribute to help the art form and culture continue to grow. My professional goals involve building my craft and creating something that the worlds has never seen before. I would like to love to travel around the world dancing and choreographing for both artists and companies. While getting jobs is one of my professional goals, I would also like to make long-lasting relationships with all those I encounter on my journey finding a place where I can fully express myself without hesitation. Later on, in my life, I would also love to teach the youth about the importance of never giving up and following your dreams, no matter how much others don’t believe in your potential.

Elevate Minorities in the Arts Scholarship
Dance is a significant part of who I am. There have been moments in my life I don't think I could have gotten through without this art form. When I'm creating a piece, I'm fueled by my feelings and the story trying to tell. Growing up with a single mother of two boys has also impacted me and greatly influenced my work. I first out by finding a song, then focus on the memory the song reminds me of. When creating, I'm taken to a new world somewhere; everything is possible. I'm able to see the music and feel every beat through my body like it's the first time I've ever listen to a piece of music. My goal is to become a professional dancer share my gift with the youth in my community, inspiring them to dream big and achieve the dream they have for themselves. But, I'm currently going through financial troubles; growing up with a single mother of two has been challenging. Figuring out how to pay for school in the fall has put a lot of stress on me, making me feel uncertain if I'll be able to make it to school in the fall. This scholarship would be super beneficial to me; it would help reduce my school's tuition for the year, giving me a head start saving for the next year.
