Dance is a significant part of who I am. There have been moments in my life I don't think I could have gotten through without this art form. When I'm creating a piece, I'm fueled by my feelings and the story trying to tell. Growing up with a single mother of two boys has also impacted me and greatly influenced my work. I first out by finding a song, then focus on the memory the song reminds me of. When creating, I'm taken to a new world somewhere; everything is possible. I'm able to see the music and feel every beat through my body like it's the first time I've ever listen to a piece of music. My goal is to become a professional dancer share my gift with the youth in my community, inspiring them to dream big and achieve the dream they have for themselves. But, I'm currently going through financial troubles; growing up with a single mother of two has been challenging. Figuring out how to pay for school in the fall has put a lot of stress on me, making me feel uncertain if I'll be able to make it to school in the fall. This scholarship would be super beneficial to me; it would help reduce my school's tuition for the year, giving me a head start saving for the next year.
