My long-term goal, after graduating college with my bachelor’s degree in Biology, includes enrolling in Med-School. I would love to become a Pediatrician and anticipate working hard in order to complete all of the necessary requirements to do so. I am aware of the workload, dedication, and sacrifice needed to achieve my goals and I am up for the challenge! I envision myself as a Pediatrician, devoting many years to my practice then working my way up to becoming a Neonatologist. We must always strive for greatness and continue to grow professionally and generally in life.
In summation, it brings me great joy just to image what my life will be like once I accomplish all of the goals I have set. I believe that I am headed in the right direction and that this is my calling. It has been a great accomplishment to be a part of my school’s medical magnet program. We have teachers with professional degrees, many of them are currently teaching at colleges and universities in addition to their commitment to our medical program. We students are being taught at a collegiate level in our medical classes to help prepare us for our career paths. Being a senior, I have had the honor of participating in clinicals at Broward Health, which has been a great experience. I have enjoyed and appreciated each rotation, getting to see how the staff operates on the different floors. I am well prepared and extremely motivated for my future and involvement in my career field.
As a first-generation college student I am Pell Grant eligible and if I am ever so fortunate to receive this scholarship, I believe it would be of great help in continuing my education without the financial worry. This opportunity would not only help in my continuation of education, but it also puts me in a position that will hopefully inspire and show my younger siblings that with support from people and organizations like this, a higher education and great career path can be achieved with less of a financial burden. Because my mother migrated from Jamaica and is not familiar with postsecondary education system of America and did not have the same opportunity, my initial worry going into college was having to find a way to pay for it. Being Pell Grant eligible has allowed me the chance to get this far with minimizing my worry that the cost of college will outweigh my ability to continue my education and I am forever grateful. I am grateful for the great teachings of my mother pushing me to work hard everyday so that I could further my academics.
Lo Easton's “Wrong Answers Only” Scholarship
1. I absolutely do not deserve this scholarship. I am applying to rob other students of scholarship opportunities.
2. My career goals are to become a professional tiktok hater and live out my mother's basement!
3. Obstacles tend to overcome me. There was never a time where I thought I could get through this, instead it could get through me.

If I had to convince a peer to attend college if they did not want to, I would start by asking them what are their future plans in life? I would tell them how college has many opportunities to offer when considering future pathways. A college is a place of wide-range possibilities and great people who can help you network to big jobs and other opportunities that can help you reach new heights. It is an experience of a lifetime where you get to meet so many different people of different personalities and make lifelong friends. It is a once in a lifetime experience like no other. Being around people of different mindsets and skill sets push you to do better and can learn a lot from being surrounded in that environment. Having said all this based solemnly on my personal experiences, being a second year college student and attending an HBCU has been on of the greatest life changing decisions I could have made. I have learned and growed so much in my 2 years being on campus. I have learned from my peers, teachers and staff all around campus. I believe that college has helped me to grow into a young adult overtime. This experience changes you for the better and helps you grow a life outside of your parents and get to experience life on your own, learning how to deal with responsibilities on your own.

The greatest challenge my family has had to face coming to the US was making sure my mom and her 11 siblings all made it her and got there citizenship while starting to make a new living for themselves. My grandma was one of the first to migrate to the US. SHe fought to make sure that every last one of her children made it here safely and without trouble. My grandma, Doris Cheese, is who inspires and motivates me daily. My grandma has always meant the world to me. Doris Cheese, a phenomenal, strong, Jamaican woman is my superhero. I chose my grandma as someone who inspires me because I looked up to her as a role model growing up. Doris Cheese was born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica on November 3, 1923. Throughout her lifetime she worked as an overnight nanny, while also taking the time out to take care of her 13 children. She worked hard so that all off her children were able to migrate to the United States of America to become citizens. She did not leave one child behind. All of her children went on to have their own children and expand our family to a larger extent. My grandma lived a long full life and passed away at the age of 97. She is survived by her 11 of her children, 30+ grandchildren, 20+ great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Doris Cheese was our lovely matriarch and her lessons and legacies taught will continue to live on.
Seeing her to do the impossible while raising 12 kids on her own inspired me all throughout my life.
